SIGNS OF THE TIMES

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

This week George H. W. Bush went to his reward in heaven.  The LORD required his life for greatness.  Like all who are chosen by the LORD, he was broken many times.   It is a daunting and sacrificial call to be chosen for greatness.  Then after being chosen each man/woman faces their Maker to discover if they fulfilled their calling for the work of the Kingdom of God.  To whom much is given, much is required.

Luke 12:47-48:   For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required, and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

I have not agreed with George H. W. Bush’s globalist world view and his alignment with the Illuminati.  However, we  have seen over and over  politicians go to Washington, D.C. with a vision for the nation and for the Kingdom of God; but soon the strongholds of the worldview of the government leaders and other world leaders soon take over their mindsets.

I have not paid the cost for greatness that the Bush family has paid.  Bush 41 is now in Heaven.  I believe George H. W. Bush was a Christian and served God and our nation as best as He knew from His position in life.  He is God’s man and now receiving his eternal reward.

“O blessed realm of which such glorious things are spoken!  Heaven’s soil does not produce thorns or thistles; its pastures are always green and all its flowers unfading.  Its inhabitants shall never say they are sick---and the people therein are forgiven all their iniquities.  O tranquil region!  Where there is nothing but continued peace and undisturbed security.  There is no night there---the light of the Son is a continual meridian of splendor.  There is no winter there---all seasons are woven into one, and that one season an eternal spring.” (J.R.M.)

I pray for the Bush family as they publically grieve for their Father and the recent loss of their Mother.  May the LORD bear their grief and sorrow and pray each one will bravely embrace their gifts, callings and challenges with courage and strength.

Mark Taylor wrote in his book, The Trump Prophecies, of the four living past-presidents, “two will be taken and three will be shaken.”

May the LORD JESUS CHRIST have mercy and may they all bow before their Maker.

It is my persuasion that when a King or world leader is “taken,” there is always a paradigm shift in the realm of their authority whether their authority was for good or evil.  They represent a stronghold of ideas and/or ideals over a nation.  Their ideas and/or ideals are made into law and become the law of the land during their reign of power.

As of this writing on Saturday evening, Alaska had experienced 230 earthquakes with the strongest one of 7.0 knocking out power, ripping open roads and splinting buildings.

Most references to earthquakes in the Bible are seen as manifestations of the direct action of God’s power.  One example is the giving of the law at Sinai (Ex. 19:18).  Matthew links the earthquake at Jesus’ crucifixion with the rending of the temple veil.  A number of references to earthquakes invoke the imagery of God marching out to do battle (Judg. 5:4; Ps. 68: 7-8, Joel 2: 10-11; Mic. 1:4).  Other references associate earthquake with a manifestation of God to the world.  Other references refer to the shaking of the earth (often accompanied by “wind and fire) when God judges the nations or the wicked.

Earthquakes remind men and women, then as well as now, that the only fixed ground is God himself.  We belong to a Kingdom that cannot be shaken.

As I was searching through some of my papers today, I accidently ran across a dream I had during the Harvey storm.  I wrote it in an email in reply to an inquiry by Apostle Valentyn.   The email was dated August 30, 2017:

DREAM:  8/28/17:  I saw the American flag.  It was not on a pole.  It was lying loosely.  I then saw a scripture which Jesus spoke.  It was sealed in white which could have the appearance of clear marble. (I didn’t remember the scripture.)  A voice told me to eat the scripture and it would be bitter to my stomach.  (This is Hebraism for receiving knowledge.  Truth is always sweet when it is received by revelation from God, but it becomes bitter when the contents are noted to be woes upon the people.)  This is what John did in Revelation beginning with the 7th trumpet.

Rev. 10: 8-11:...Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which stands upon the sea and upon the earth…it shall make your belly bitter, but it shall be in your mouth sweet as honey…You much prophesy again before many peoples, and nations and tongues and kings.”

It is also of great significance that the NAFTA trade agreement between the United States, Mexico and Canada has been replaced with the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) at the G-20.

As you know, I am of the persuasion that we are entering a divinely appointed time when Heaven is invading earth in greater manifestations of that which is in Heaven will be heavenly on earth.

The Bible testifies from Genesis to Revelation of the signs of the times, the ministry of angels, the visitations of God, and the Angel of the LORD.  Let us not be of the “wicked and adulterous generation who seeks after a sign,” but let us be wise and read the signs of the times.

Mat. 16: 1-4:  The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven.  He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say,’ it will be fair weather, for the sky is red’, “and in the morning, ‘it will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’  Hypocrites!  You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.  A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. And Jesus left them and departed.

Perhaps the sign of the prophet Jonah points to Jesus being raised from the dead.  Jonah was thrown into the sea and swallowed by a fish for three days.  Jonah’s being expelled from the fish speaks of Christ’s resurrection and triumph over death, which is the greatest “sign” God could ever give.  The resurrected Jesus is the eternal sign that our sins are forgiven.

At the time of Christ’s advent, the minds of men were seized with a wonderful and inexplicable expectation of the coming of a very great king and a resulting age of peace, and a renewal of all things.  The Jews longed for and looked for the manifestation of King Messiah and the gentiles were no less eagerly looking for the return of the fulfilled golden age.

They were expecting a Messiah who would deliver them from the Romans and re-establish the glorious kingdom of Israel as it was in the days of Solomon.

The human race was employing itself to the ultimate of its power, in superstition, wisdom, domination, indulgence, in vice as in virtue.   Then God graciously sent His Son to proclaim the gospel of peace to those near at hand and those afar off.

Scripture testifies that the long predicted fullness of time was, by God’s foreordination, now at last at hand.  Christ has been foreordained before the foundation of the world.

1 Peter 1: 18-21:  Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.  He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith ad hope are in God.

Christ’s coming was in accordance with this eternal purpose and predestined promise.  This is a fact spoken of by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

Luke 1:68-73:  Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited and redeemed His people.  He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant, David.  As He spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets, who have been since the world began, that we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us.  To perform the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant.

He who had been looked for and sought for from the days of Adam at length came forth.  Now, the desire of all nations has come:

Haggai 2:7:  I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory; says the LORD of hosts.  The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine; says the LORD of hosts.  The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former; says the LORD of hosts.  In this place, I will give peace, says the LORD of hosts.

“A sign is a token of God’s love, a reminder that we are God’s children.”

Ex. 4:8:  It shall come to pass, if they will not believe you, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

Signs convey a specific message while the Spirit speaks in the language of miracles.  To ignore His signs is to ignore His voice.  To deny His signs is to deny His word.  Each sign has a voice and conveys a message, representing something God is saying or something He is doing.  When God points out signs, we cannot be passive and think, Oh, that’s nice.  We must ask Him, “God what is it that You are saying to me through this sign?” (J.M.)

With great expectation, I am looking forward that the LORD GOD will again invade earth with Heaven.   As it was when Jesus came to earth as a baby, the world is looking for a man to be their Savior.  I have a Savior.  He was born in Bethlehem of Judea.  His name is Jesus Christ the LORD.  However, as with His first coming, there were signs in the stars of heaven and in the earth.

As we minister in the glory cloud, angels are an integral part of that interaction, bringing supernatural substances from the invisible into the visible realms. We must learn to minister with the angels.  As we speak in the glory, our words release and activate angels to move on divine assignment.  In the Scriptures, angels are referred to as spirit winds (Ez. 37:9).

Psa. 104:2-4:  O Lord God…You cover Yourself with light as with a garment, you stretch out the heavens like a curtain.  You lay the beams of your upper chambers in the waters.  You make the clouds your chariot.  You walk on the wings of the wind.  You make your angels spirits, your ministers a flame of fire.

As we again come near to Christmas, let us all raise our faith with the expectation of witnessing and expecting the supernatural visitation of God.  I believe Christ’s birth was a miracle.  I believe we can expect a visitation of His glory and Heaven on earth every day of the year and especially during the Glory of Christmas.  Let us meet this invasion of Heaven with great joy and be “caught up” in Heaven on earth.

Moving in the dimension of miracles, signs and wonders requires faith, a perceptive spirit, and expectation and spontaneity.  Let us all embrace the glory of the LORD JESUS CHRIST on earth as it is in Heaven.
