WARFARE IN THE HEAVENS

(One ,Two,  and Three  )

Bet Amante, Tuesday bible study

July 14, 2020

(I have a confession to make this morning :O) ……. My knowledge of God and his word is soooooooo  limited. Sometimes I just cannot believe how I miss what I began  studying…… since I was about 5 OR 6 years old…that’s 75 years ago.  And suddenly BAM!!! God drops something entirely …..different into our …on going  morning conversations. Which by the way Is the 1st order of the day…….and I can’t wait to see what God has to say. ( He already knows what I have to say…..but He still wants to hear it. Amazing!! Just absolutely mind boggling how He is speaking the same message to all of us who sincerely want to hear what He has to say….and it’s a whole lot more than yes and no and later (answers to our soulish prayers)  Some prayerful conversations are very personal and private and meant to stay that way….like when He calls our attention to intercede for a person…brother or sister (or ourselves) on the earth………..under the 1st heaven…. concerning a particular sin. We are not to discuss it publicly, but to proclaim God’s word privately….speaking the scripture that applies into the atmosphere. (under the 1st heaven) If the scripture requires 2 or more coming into agreement, such as Mathew 18…which ….actually has to do with forgiveness when a brother or sister offends you. Prayer partners are a wonderful gift of God….and He chooses them for us. Hallelujah!!! Generally He places a novice…or a baby Christian with someone who is more mature. There is a good reason for that…It is wisdom. And those without experience are often blind to the enemies pitfalls. We need each other. We are members of one body. Headed in one direction…..onward and upward….toward the third heaven…our eternal home

But in between that first and third heaven………….? There is what? Space???? The realm of the second heaven is outer space……..no air….no atmosphere……no life….no light….outer darkness?? There are planets, stars, solar systems,  and the vast voids between galaxies can stretch millions of light-years across and may appear empty. But these infinite spaces actually contain more matter than the galaxies themselves.

CREATION is more than a theory…..the book of Genesis is still God’s word. He speaks…..and there it is…and every living thing reproduces after its own kind???? Yep! There it is in black and white. Its own kind… in its image and likeness….genetically speaking….species within species….and not one thing has changed within God’s specifications.

Slime is still slime……….. apes are  still apes, dogs did  not become horses or cows  and mules cannot reproduce. We did not evolve from another species….whether slime….or monkeys  in the Galápagos Islands

The theory of evolution is Charles Darwin’s word…: an idea or set of ideas that is intended to explain facts or events. : an idea that is suggested or presented as possibly true but that is not known or proven to be true. : the general principles or ideas that relate to a particular subject.

For instance in  Genesis 3:1-13 satan made a suggestion to eve….!!!!!!

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

So we see that from the beginning of creation, God intended man to take dominion, exercise authority, and rule in strength and power to resist and overcome all (opposing) forces on the earth, in the seas and in the air…and over every thing that moves upon the earth. It was not an afterthought. Man was not a last-minute addition. He was planned specifically according to God’s blueprint and likeness. Why do you suppose that was? Because God wanted fellowship. He wanted children with whom he could relate and freely share his joy. Our creator in heaven knew the risk in giving man such freedom and power. I cannot tell you why or how , but our  heavenly Father loved us before man ever came to be. He looked ahead and made provision for every possible thing that we would ever need. Including the understanding that we would fall and what it would cost Him for our redemption…..and for us to regain dominion, authority and  power…..over the evil ones, satan and his minions

Ephesians 6 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.

ON THE EARTH AND IN THE HEAVENLIES

(As nouns) the difference between dominion and authority

is that dominion is power or the use of power; sovereignty over something; stewardship, supremacy while authority is the power to enforce rules or give orders.

From the blue letter bible edition commentary by Don Stewart ::  How many of you here this morning ..or on line….are familiar with the writings, commentaries and teachings of Don Stewart??? Breaking News? (His channel?) Remember…..all of this is new to me….. I don’t even remember ever hearing of Don Stewart….But I do have blue letter bible on my cell phone and I agree with his message and since he says it much better than I could……. I will share it. Don Stewart uses a whooooooole bunch of scriptures, so write them down today since  time does not permit me to read them all.

The phrase “heavenly places” or “heavenly realms” is used several times in the book of Ephesians (1:3, 20; 2:6; 3:10; 6:12). This phrase is translated from the Greek word epouranios, meaning “the sphere of spiritual activities.” “Heavenly realms” can refer to both angelic and demonic activity. Ephesians 1:20 says that God “raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.” But Ephesians 6:12 speaks of evil forces in the same realm: “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against . . . the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

As flesh-and-blood humans, we have very little understanding of the spirit world. We cannot see, hear, or touch it. However, the Bible assumes it, and we can glean insight into a world we cannot see by studying what God tells us about it. First of all, God is spirit (John 4:24). He exists outside the bounds of time, space, and matter. His home is called heaven (Acts 7:55; Isaiah 63:15), but this is a distinct place, not to be confused with “the heavens,” referring to the atmosphere (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 148:4), or the “heavenly realms,” which encompass all spirit beings.
In God’s heaven, He sits on a throne (Matthew 23:22; Hebrews 4:16), surrounded by adoring angels (Revelation 7:11; Psalm 99:1) who exist to serve God and minister to His saints (Hebrews 1:14; Matthew 4:11; Genesis 19:1). Angels also have the ability to appear as men when sent to deliver messages from God (Genesis 18:2, 16–17; 19:1–2; Daniel 10:5–6).

However, the dark side of the heavenly realms belongs to Satan and his evil spirits. Satan is not the counterpart to God. God has no challenger. Satan is a created being who has only the power God allows him to have for only as long as God allows it (Isaiah 14:12; Luke 22:31; Revelation 12:12). Yet, for reasons known only to God, Satan and his minions are allowed to wreak havoc upon the earth and the servants of God—if unchecked by spiritual warfare and the holy angels.
Daniel 10 gives us the best glimpse into what happens in this world we cannot see. An angel was dispatched by God to deliver a message to Daniel as he prayed, but the messenger was detained for three weeks by “the prince of Persia,” a demon (verse 13). The angel later told Daniel that he had to have help from Michael the archangel in order to prevail and continue on the assignment God had given him.

This glimpse into the heavenly realms helps us understand a few things. First, we learn that there is fierce warfare taking place at all times. Satan and his
demons are actively working to thwart the plans of God and destroy whatever they can (see John 10:10). If a mighty angel on a mission from God could be detained by demonic forces, then demons must have great power. Second, God does not leave His children defenseless against this evil army. Second Corinthians 10:4 says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.” Ephesians 6:11–17 tells us exactly what armor we need to stand firm against the temptations and
schemes of the devil. In ourselves, we are no match for Satan’s devices. We need spiritual armor to fight spiritual battles. The third truth we can learn from the Daniel passage is that prayer gets God’s attention and that His answer is on the way. There are forces unknown to us that may interfere with God’s desire to aid us, and we must continue to persevere in prayer until the answer comes (see Luke 18:1; Ephesians 6:18).

The heavenly realms are as real as the earthly realms. We will spend most of our lives living in the heavenly realms (2 Corinthians 5:1; 1 John 5:11). In contrast, our earthly existence is only a “vapor that appears for a little while and is gone” (James 4:14). Physical battles may seem intense, but the results are temporary. However, spiritual battles have eternal consequences. When we live our earthly lives in recognition of the unseen battles that rage all around us, we will be more careful about what we say and do (Ephesians 5:15–16; 2 Corinthians 2:11). We will be faithful to utilize our weapons of prayer and the armor of God, knowing that the real battles are fought and won in the heavenly realms.

CONTINUING

Before we received the Holy Spirit, we were unable to discern the word of God. It was foreign to us and mad very little sense. Why? Because it is spiritually discerned and our carnal mind is in a spiritually fallen state. It was not so  with Adam and Eve. They were created by God first hand …not born of a woman…and they spoke God’s language from the get go. They were made alive by the breath of God, clothed in the light of God, lived  in the garden of God , and  ate the fruit of God. They had nothing to fear. They were innocent and knew no evil, unaware of any danger and their every need was met. Yet they would be temped by evil because evil existed and man had to learn to deal with it….by resisting it. Adam did not choose to do so. He refused to tell his wife no. As Eve’s mate, Adam should have reminded Eve….”God said Do not eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge  of good and evil.” Well?????????? Is it not written??? Adam was older and wiser than Eve. He was created first and given dominion. Had he done so….sooner or later the tempter would have come again, and man cannot resist every possible temptation on his own. Satan and his minions are smarter than we are and have a whole lot more experience . They know the word of God and have been twisting it for almost 6000 years.

What is also true is that God has given us absolute protection and power over him. And what would that be? GOD HIMSELF…THROUGH HIS PROMISES........... OF  HIS WORD, HIS SON, HIS SPIRIT…GOD GAVE HIS ALL. DO WE NOW NOT BELIEVE HIM? APARENTLY....THERE ARE MANY WHO DO NOT.

YOU WILL ALL BEGIN TO NOTICE THE SPIRIT OPENING THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS....PAUL'S LETTER OF INFORMATION ON MATURING IN THE SPIRIT AND SPIRITUAL WARFARE.  NOW IS THE TIME. BOTH ARE MANIFESTING  AND ESCALATING BEFORE OUR VERY EYES .WE ARE AT THE END OF THE AGE AND WE SEE THE EVIDENCE THAT JESUS SPOKE OF ALL THAT IS HAPPENING AT ONCE ALL AROUND THE WORLD

lUKE 21:11

10Then He told them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11There will be great earthquakes, famines, and pestilences in various places, along with fearful sights and great signs from heaven. 12But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. On account of My name they will deliver you to the synagogues and prisons, and they will bring you before kings and governors.…Berean Study Bible

Jesus taught by example, by fulfillment of the scriptures, in parables parables and by proclaiming all that was written as true and active and alive……by the Holy Spirit of God …housed within His body of flesh…..the word  of  God the Father…….. incarnate. By his Holy Spirit …according to each and every jot and title of His word today

Matthew 28 17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Luke 9 King James Version (KJV)

9 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece  (supernatural provision  for ministry)

And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart. ( shelter among the brethren)

And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. (If they will  not receive my truth from you, they will  not receive it from me)

And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

Luke 10 King James Version (KJV)

10 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.  (Many are called. He choses those who answer the call)

Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.

And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.

7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:

And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,

11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

I just want to say this…..IN CLOSING

There are those (WELL KNOWN IN MINISTRY) who are teaching and preaching that Christian intercessors and prayer warriors are not to engage in warfare in the second heaven. John Paul Jackson (who is  now with the lord ) was of that mind set and Michael Bradley  I am sure there are others, but as I said …I had no clue until the Lord began talking to me about it. So I am really stepping out by faith and  on a limb here with other ministries. I know that lisa Stringer has just published a book on Ephesians 6 and Spiritual warfare, but I have yet to read it.

I do not believe that this is what our bible teaches….at all.  I do believe that we had better be prepared for every fiery dart and spear and arrow that the enemy throws at us. It is not my power that resists him, but Christ in me…my hope of salvation and redemption and deliverance ….from all the powers of the enemy!! Period! No legalistic slant is going to cause me to loosen my armor or put down my sword. Amen!! And listen…I am not saying that these people are evil or demonic…..but if it be possible …even the elect can be deceived….. walk in humility and avoid arrogance, people. When there are questions….do some prayerful study and use your commentaries.  No one knows it all!!!! No one but Jesus!!!!!  Amen and amen!!!!

References FROM THE BOOK OF GENESIS

Genesis 1 King James Version (KJV)

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
