Tenets of Faith

  1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, authoritative Word of God.  II Peter 1:21
  2. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His atoning blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father.  I Timothy 3:16
  3. We believe in evangelistic and missionary fervor.  Acts 1:8; Mark 16:15-18
  4. We believe in the keeping power of God and a holy walk, not after the flesh but after the Spirit.  Jude 24; Romans 8:4.
  5. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:4; 10:46; 19:6, and the present ministry of the Spirit in and though the believer as manifested in the ministries, gifts, and fruit of the Spirit.  I Corinthians 12:8-11; Galatians 5:22-23.
  6. We believe that divine healing is obtained on the bases of atonement.  I Peter 2:24.
  7. We believe that the church is that collective group of people from all nations, kindred, and tongues that believes that Jesus is the Christ.  That the born again man is a child of God and it is this group of born again believers that comprise the New Testament Church without regard to organization, denomination, or creed.  The only way to get into the New Testament Church is to be born again.  Only Jesus adds you to the church, and no man can put you in or take you out of the church.  Acts 2:47.
  8. We believe the church is Mount Zion, the city of the living God, the Holy City New Jerusalem, the church of the first-born.  Hebrews 12:22-23; Revelation 21:2, 9-10, 22-27; Galatians 4:22-26; Zechariah 14:8-9, Isaiah 60:14, 62:12.
  9. We believe that the church is supported by tithes and offerings.  Tithes and offerings have always been God's way of financing His work among men.  It was instituted by a man of faith named Abraham.  Abraham, out of the appreciation of his heart gave a tithe to God on the prosperity with which God had blessed him.  Genesis 14:18-20.  Tithing was by faith with Abraham, even though it was incorporated under the law in the Old Testament church, it is now the measure of the Christians appreciation and thankfulness to God for giving him natural blessings.  Malachi 3:8-12; Matthew 23:23; Luke 6:38.
  10. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal punishment.  John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:15
  11. We believe that marriage is Holy in the Lord Jesus Christ and is only between a man and a woman.
