BAAL-PERAZIM, "LORD OF THE BREAKTHROUGH"

Baal-Perazim, "Lord of the Breakthrough"

Tuesday Morning Bible Study

July 21, 2020, the Year of Our Lord

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

On awakening this past Sunday morning, I was receiving a download from the Holy Spirit.  I cannot say I “heard” the LORD nor did I see this in a vision.  It was as if the Spirit of God was imparting (downloading) this.

So, I will try to interpret this as best as I can:

1.       A cloud of darkness is covering the earth and the people.  The Spirit of God will require (make a demand on) His ministers to lead the people through the darkness and show the people how to overcome the darkness.

2.      The LORD is releasing “Breakers” upon the earth.  I “felt” these will be ministers released who will carry the Lord’s anointing as the “Breaker.”

1.      SONS OF LIGHT (Jhn. 12:36, NASB)

Isa. 60: 1-3: Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the L
ORD is risen upon you.

For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the L
ORD will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.

The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising
.

Ginny Bell called me Monday morning.  When I told her about this visitation, she said she had been reading Isaiah 60 and she begin to see a vision of Christians walking through malls and stores covered in the brilliance of glorious light and people were drawn to the light.

On Sunday evening, by the providence of God, I turned to the page 364 of 101 Weapons of Spiritual Warfare to the chapter on  God’s Brilliant Light as a weapon of His warfare.

Acts 22:6-9: It came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and come near unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me. I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?  So, I answered, “Who are You, Lord?”  He said to me, “I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.  I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?

Dr. Olukoya writes in his book, 1010 Weapons of spiritual warfare “Use this weapon when you are surrounded by darkness.  Use it when you need to dispel thick darkness.  There is no greater weapon for dealing with the kingdom of darkness than using the weapon of brilliant light.  Just as Paul was blindfolded and arrested, persecutors and terrorists will also be blindfolded and arrested.

Jesus says that we are to be the light of the world.  We are light and partakers of the divine nature.  We do not shine alone, but shine together with the other lights of the city.

Mat. 5:14:  You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

Jesus described himself as the light of the world: Jn. 8:12:   He that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

No man can live unto himself.  Every man is a profound influence either for good or evil.  Light guides and shows the way.  As salt is for corruption, so light is for darkness.  One cures foulness, the other delivers from ignorance and blindness.

Mat 4:16 - The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

Light and Jesus are inseparable.  As the Son of the Living (Consuming Fire) God, He is truly “The Light.”  On the Mt. of Transfiguration, Matthew detailed the event in terms of His light.  The flaming fire of the Son of God is shown in splendor.

Matthew 17:  His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.

Romans 13:12: … Let us therefore lay aside, the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light...

I have shared many times of the visitation I had in 1989. Jesus came into my bedroom and stood beside the bed.  He was a beautiful white light.  His white robe was white light.   He covered me with a blanket of white light.  He spoke to me saying, “Arise, shine; for your light has come.  And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.  Gross darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples.  But the Lord will rise upon you, and His glory will appear upon you.”

Isa. 10:17: The Light of Israel will be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame.

John 12:36:  While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.   Put on the spirit and grace of Christ for sanctification; put on the new man.  Jesus Christ is the best clothing for Christians to adorn themselves with, to arm themselves with.  All other things are filthy rags.  By baptism we have in profession put on Christ.  Let us do it in truth and sincerity.  Put him on as Lord to rule you, as Jesus to save you, and in both as Christ, appointed by the Father to this ruling saving work.

For we were once darkness, but now we are light in the LORD.  Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the LORD.  Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.  For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.  All things that are exposed are made manifest by the light.  Let us study those things which are lovely and of good report.

2 Cor. 4: 4-6:  It is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

2.      THE BREAKER

I will now address the “breaker anointing.”  The “Breaker” is Jesus Christ.  He reveals himself to us as the “Breaker” in Micah 2:13: The breaker goes up before them; they break out, pass through the gate and go out by it. So, their king goes on before them, and the Lord at their head (NASV).

2 Samuel 5:20: David came to Baalperazim, and David smote the Philistines there, and said,The Lord has broken through my enemies before me like the breakthrough of waters.’ Therefore he (David) named that place Baal Perazim (Hebrew meaning the Lord “bursts” or breaks through.) (NASV.)

David inquired of the Urim and Thummim from the high priest, Abiathar, and God answered him every time he inquired.  The first question was, “Shall I go up to the Philistines?”  The second, “Will You deliver them into my hand?” The answer was yes (Vs. 19).

This is also known as Mt. Perazim in  Isa 28:21:  For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be angry as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.

David, himself, named the place Baal-Perazim because the LORD had broken through upon his enemies.  Here the Philistines left their images and David and his men burned them (vs. 21).

There are several things the Word reveals about the Lord in these scriptures.

 1.   He goes before us. He leads. He stands between us and our enemies.

 2.   He is like a dam that bursts forth with rushing water that cannot be stopped   and washes away everything in its path.

 3.   In times of trouble, heaviness and confusion He can break down any walls that hold us captive.

 4.  He is the Lord of the hosts of heavenly armies and there is no enemy army standing against us that can stop His breakthrough on our behalf.

Isa. 35: 4-7: Say to them that are of a fearful heart, be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.  Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.  Then shall the lame man leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.  And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes. And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called the way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

When the LORD releases greater dimensions of Himself to the Church in the earth, it is His election (his choice) for those who He has prepared for Kingdom purposes.  We do not choose our Kingdom assignment.  It is assigned, imparted and then received.  The instrument of God’s choosing is usually clueless until the Spirit of God begins to release Jesus through their earthly vessel.  There are many anointings, gifts, callings and ministries.  No one can do it all.  We have to allow God to move through us in His seasons of our life.

The Lord has been using me in spiritual warfare from the onset of COVID 19.  When the season changes, the anointing will change.  I flow with the anointing; not with an Office.  Patience and dependence on God are necessary for the fulfillments of His promises and our assignments.

God’s opportunity is created by the attitude of God toward us.  We become what God offers to us.  We can refuse and miss God; or we can accept and take a supernatural walk of faith.  God’s measure of a man or woman is based on the attitude of his soul toward Jesus and the Holy Spirit; not by failings of the moment; by what man wills to be, rather God sees the true measure of His soul.

He knows each one of our “Achilles Heel.”  And the good news is Human failure may make possible a usefulness for God which would otherwise be impossible without such failure.

No matter how spiritual and mature a man or woman may be, he/she will fall if they get their eyes off Jesus.

True repentance will cause God in His grace to forgive any sin.

I believe the LORD will soon reveal more of the Breaker anointing and will here more from the prophets.  I believe we hear ministers preach and leading their flock to face the darkness covering the earth.  I believe a mighty anointing will be released to be “Breakers.”  There will also be other anointings.  These are the two the LORD spoke to me about.

Note to Carolyn Sissom from Prophetess Barb McGraw.

The below word confirmed your word about darkness. You are a leader of light to guide through this season. Be careful who you are intimate with. There are many who will steal your light rather than use your light to guide them to their personal light with the goal to serve others. We are to blend with each other not be a drain. Many are desperate and wish to steal and abuse the light God has given us.

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by MARSHA BURNS:

In a visionary moment I could perceive the darkness of the world closing in so as to obliterate or choke out the light of God.  I heard the instruction of the Lord that it is necessary to push back the darkness with our faith and the understanding of His word. It is imperative that we walk in the light of truth.  To not walk in light is to slip into obscurity and gloom.  We must set ourselves to watch and be vigilant to keep ourselves in the safety of His presence. 2 Corinthians 4:6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
