“WORKERS OF MIRACLES”

Little White Church is no stranger to the Dunamis Power Gift of the Working of Miracles.   However, as the Pastor, it is my responsibility to continually encourage your Faith to believe the Lord for the Supernatural Manifestation of His Presence and Power.  Tonight we have a guest minister, Brother Cliff Cavin who operates in the office of “Worker of Miracles”.  Let us lift our faith to make a demand on Heaven to receive our miracle. 

  

There are three Power gifts within the Doing Ministry that enable us to Act (do the works of) like God:

  

1. Faith – The God-given ability to believe God for the impossible.
2. Healing – The God-given ability to impart healing for the physical body at certain specific times.
3. Working of Miracles – The God –given ability to perform the impossible. - Dunamis Power. 

  

The Greek word “Dunamis” means “power, inherent ability, and is used in referring to the works of a supernatural origin and character, such as could not be produced by natural agents and means. It means “power, mighty work, miracle, strength, virtue, ability, abundance, deed, violence; explosions of almightiness; impelling and staggering wonders and astonishments.”  The English derivatives are “dynamite” or “dynamo” or dynamic.”  This is the might, power, energy, ability and enabling of the Lord.

  

  The word “semeion” means “a sign or mark or token; miracles and wonders as signs of divine authority,” Many signs and portents are being manifest today by the Holy Spirit:

  

1. Hands burn under the anointing of the spirit.
2. The lips of some burn when they are to prophesy.
3. The symptoms of those who are sick are given to some so that they have identical symptoms with those who are afflicted (symptomatic healings).
4. Various realities from the real world of the Spirit are made manifest to the faculties of men.

  

We do not follow signs.  They follow us.  A sign will point to something.  All signs and wonders must be Christ-centered and Christ-honoring.  They must bring us to Him.  All else is a delusion and a lie.

  

 Wonders or miracles are supernatural happenings or events which are divine interruptions of the law of nature.  A miracle is a phenomenon which defies reason and transcends natural laws.  It is a temporary suspension of the customary order.  It is contrary to nature. 

  

Acts 5:12:  And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were with one accord on Solomon’s porch).

 

 

  The church of the 21^st century has been faithful to teach that Gift Miracles is part of the gifts of the Apostle, the Prophet and the Evangelist.  However, in 1 Corinthians12:28-29, this is listed as a separate office.   “And God has set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.  Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing?

Then again in 12:8-10 as one of the Gifts of the Spirit: “For to one is given by the spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of Knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same spirit; to another the working of miracles;” to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.  But all these work that one and the self same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.”

  

The Remnant Church of the 21^st Century is operating in all of the above except we are not seeing “many” who operate as “Workers of Miracles” interpreted as supernatural happenings or events which are divine interruptions of the law of nature. 11 Peter 1:12 “Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though you know them, and be established in the present truth.

  

This denotes those truths of God’s Word that are presently being revealed in the church by the Holy Spirit in and through the five-fold ministry of Eph. 4:11,  what the Holy Ghost is saying now to the Church.

  

In my life time, I have experienced many miracles of the Lord, financial, healing and supernatural manifestations of the Presence of the Lord in all of the above mentioned gifts.  Miracles should be part of our inheritance in the Body of Christ through the Mighty Dunamis Power of the Holy Ghost.  All the promises of the covenants and Power of God were given to Jesus.  All of this was fulfilled in and by Jesus.  Jesus was appointed Heir of all things and we are joint-heirs with Christ.  We are born again into a family inheritance, we received the infilling of the Holy Ghost which is the earnest, pledge, and guarantee of our inheritance, and we will receive the fullness of our inheritance at the time of our adoption.  (Rom 8: 16-23; Gal. 4:1-7; Eph. 1:13-14; Heb. 1:1-3).

  

Hebrews 2: 3-4: “How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him?  God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost according to his own will?”

  

It is the responsibility of the church Elders to be sure that we do not neglect any of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  As I was preparing for this teaching, I picked up a book written by A.A. Allen.  The book was not so much about miracles, but the high cost of the vessel that will carry the gift.

  

One of the failings of the church of the 20^th Century was when the Power Gifts would be in operation, the ministers would then start selling the gifts for offerings.  They would use the gifts to raise money or very subtly offer items for sale.   I am sure I will step on some toes here.  However, you can call it what you will, it is still prostitution of the gift when ministers sell handkerchiefs, special oil, certain talismans, or other items to activate the Gift of Miracles.

  

The Lord used mud.  The apostles used handkerchiefs and other items.  I believe in using items as a point of contact to activate Faith.  However, I do not believe in selling those items.

  

The last Revival of Miracles was the Golden Glory Revival which was manifested through the ministry of Ruth Ward Heflin.  There are still some today who carry a measure of that “sign and wonder”.  Of which is Mahash Chavda and Kathie Walters.  Our own Michael O’Brien was part of that revival.  I ministered in the Golden Glory Revival with Prophetess Andy Blythe.  The Lord spoke to me during that time in a dream.  He told me I was to prophesy the Golden Glory, but He did not indicate to me that I would be a carrier.  I do have small flakes of gold on my skin from time to time.

  

The Glory of God on earth as it is in Heaven is the manifestation of the presence and splendor of God to the spiritual and physical faculties of man.  We experience weekly the manifest presence of the Lord in the Cloud of Glory during our worship, preaching of the Word, and ministry of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. 

  

Acts 8: 18-23:  “And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands, the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money.  You have neither part nor lot in this matter for your heart is not right in the sight of God.  Repent therefore this your wickedness and pray God, if perhaps the thoughts of your heart may be forgiven you.  For I perceive that you are in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.”

  

We can learn further from this verse that bitterness and iniquity are a stumbling block to receiving the Holy Spirit and the Gifts.

  

The Lord used this manifestation of the Spirit through his mighty Power to establish the Church.  One example is in Acts 14:1-4.  Paul and Barnabas in the face of a hostile synagogue of Jews demonstrated the Power of the Risen Christ.  “The apostles abode there a long time speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the Word of His Grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.”

  

This Power is of the Spirit of God.  Romans 15: 18-19:  “I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed.  Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem and round about Illyricum, I have fully preached the Gospel of Christ.

  

Spiritual Ministry meets the needs of man through the anointing and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit.  It is the gospel of the Kingdom in supernatural demonstration and power.  It is the Gospel in action.  This is to be led by the Holy Sprit and to move with God.  You have heard me say, we follow the cloud, not the crowd.  When the cloud (God) moved, they moved.  To move with God is to move in line and in timing with His present ministry and purpose in the earth. 

  

We are not to neglect our Gifts.  “Neglect not the gift that is in you, which was given you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.”

  

This is a confirmation that the gifts can be imparted through the Prophetic Giftings of the Presbytery.  A presbyter is one of the five-fold ministries.  Thus a presbytery is a group of two or more presbyters or elders who are anointed of God with prophetic ministry to confirm and impart God’s mind to the Body of Christ through the laying on of hands.  A presbytery is formed during times of the need for prophetic guidance, confirmation, ordination, and commission.

  

1 Tim. 1:6: “Wherefore I put you in remembrance that you stir up the gift of God which is in you by the putting on my hands.”

  

Laying on of Hands is a Biblical method of conferring divine blessings.  This term speaks of part of the first principles of the doctrine of Christ (Heb. 6: 1-2).  The anointed hands become the channel, bridge and vehicle by which something is transferred or transmitted one person to another.  Three of the main words defining this ministry are: identification, impartation, and confirmation.

 

1. For healing (Lk. 4:40; Acts 28:8)
2. For the Holy Ghost (Acts 9:17; 19:6)
3. For spiritual Gifts (11 Tim. 1:6; 14; 1 Tim. 4:14)
4. For Blessing (Mk. 10:16)
5. For Commissioning (Acts 13: 2-3).
6. For confirmation or ordination (Acts 6:6; 1 Tim. 5:22)

   

The Gift of Miracles operates through and by the Gift of Faith.  This means we must believe the Word of God and believe in the Works of Jesus Christ.

  Jesus imparted this power to the Apostles.  Matthew 10:1:  “And Jesus summoned to Him His twelve disciples and gave them power and authority over unclean spirits to drive them out, and to cure all kinds of disease and all kinds of weakness and infirmity.”   

1. Faith is a spiritual force.  God is a spirit.  He is a faith God who is pleased by faith. (Heb. 11:6) “For without faith it is impossible to please him for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
2. Faith is the absence of doubt; the opposite of fear.(II Tim. 1:7)
3. Faith is in the present tense.  “Now faith is…” (Heb. 11:1)
4. Faith is a gift.  It is an impartation of the Lord. (Rom. 12:3)
5. Faith is a fruit.  It grows. (Gal. 5: 22-23; Rom 1:17)
6. Faith comes by the hearing of the Word of God. (Rom 10:17)
7. Faith speaks (Rom. 10:6-10)
8. We live by His faith.  (Gal. 2:20; Acts 17:28)

  

Ps. 62:11: “God has spoken once; twice I have heard this: that power belongs unto God.

  

1 Cor. 4:20: For the Kingdom of God is not in Word, but in Power.”

  

Post Script:  As we are presently experience the shaking of the earth through earth quakes and storms, God has determined to shake heaven and earth in the end of this age.  Every thing that can be shaken or moved will be removed.  God is not going to remove the righteous.  He is already removing the wicked and will continue to do so until there is a Kingdom in the earth expressed through a glorious church which cannot be moved.  We are watching as the political kingdoms have been shaken and are now falling.  As in the days of Noah, the wicked will be taken in judgment and the righteous will be left to inherit the earth.  Every thing that is a product of man’s wisdom and strength is going to be exposed and removed.  The shaking of the heavenly realm of spirit will produce a shaking in the earthly realm.  God will have a people who cannot be moved!  “(Heb. 12: 26-29:  Whose voice then shook the earth; but now he has promised saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.  And this word, yet once more, signifies the removing of those things that are shaken as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.  Wherefore, we receive a kingdom which cannot be moved.  Let us have grace whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and Godly fear.  For our God is a consuming fire.
