THE SONG OF MOSES, II

Exodus 15 and Revelation 15

The Song of Moses is the victory song of the Redeemed in Revelation 15.

Rev. 15: 2-3:  And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire; and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.  And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, great and marvelous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, You King of saints.  Who shall not fear you, O Lord and glorify your name?  For you only are holy; for all nations shall come and worship before you; for your judgments are made manifest.”

I ran across my notes today of a sermon on The Song of Moses, dated September 10, 1993.  Last Sunday evening, Wayne Woods spoke a Word to me that he could not possibly know unless it was revealed to him by the Holy Spirit.  He said, “You know or have something to do with the seal of God.”  Well this whole church body has been sealed more than once and knew the Lord commissioned me to seal the Saints in 1990.

I wrote in 1993 that at the first of that year there was a sealing of the faithful against the day of divine wrath.  These elect being the followers of Christ and the true Israel of God.  This, of course, is not a final sealing, but a revelation I had at the time.

In Revelation 7, we have the sealing of the servants of God and the triumph of the martyrs.  These are the 144,000 (a metaphorical number of the Elect saints).

(Vs9) And after this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, tribes, people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes and palms in their hands; and cried with a loud voice saying, Salvation to our God which sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

The Israel of God both literal and spiritual knows no national frontiers.  When the number of the great multitude is complete, they no longer remain under the altar, (Vs.7:15: “Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he that sits on the throne shall dwell among them.”

In chapter 6:9 “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the Word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

These uncompromising saints in chapter 6 who know him by His covenant name are standing before the throne in front of the lamb in chapter 7.    They stand in the presence of God.  To the white robes of blessedness are now added the palm branches of victory for they give all glory to God and to Christ.

In Chapter 15, John describes another vision of the glorified martyrs.

(Vs.1) “And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.  And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire; and them that had gotten the  victory over the beast and, over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.”

I believe this is the heavenly sea of Genesis 1:7: “And God said, ‘Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.  So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it and it was so.”

Psa. 104:3:  “He has laid the beams of his upper chambers in the waters” (“chambers” – upper lofty abode)   The firmament divides the waters.  This is a Psalm to Jehovah the Redeemer and the Great Creator.

Ps. 148:4: “Praise him you heavens of heavens and you waters that are above the heavens.  Let them praise the name of the Lord; for he commanded, and they were created.”  This song begins in the heavens, sweeps downward to the depths, and ascends again.  This is a panorama of redemption.  This is the New Song of Redemption and the Psalm of Universal Praise.  The choir of creation is outlined as praise from on high and praise from the earth.

Ps. 29:10:  “The Lord sits upon the flood; yes, the Lord sits King forever.”

This is an archetype of the cast metal sea in Solomon’s temple (1 Kg. 7:23) which represents the cosmic flood over which God sits enthroned as King.  He is the Ark.

In Revelation 15:2, the sea of glass is mixed with fire.  The fire has brought forth the perfection of the saints.  This is the victory of the redeemed referred to as the angels sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb.  These are sold out to the Lord Jesus Christ, worshiping Him in spirit and Truth, they are strong in their praise of God; they live and speak the message to the whole world.

Ex. 15:2: the Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation he is my God, and I will prepare him a habitation; my father’s God and I will exalt him.”

Moses and the children of Israel are a type of Jesus and His Body. (Isa. 8:18).  “Behold, I and the children whom the Lord has give me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwells in Mount Zion.”

The Lord is our strength and song has become our salvation.  This is prophetic of the ultimate triumph of a glorious church.

Rev. 15:2b:  “And them who had gotten the victory over the beast and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

This beast will act as anti-christ’s minister of propaganda.  This would translate to media in today’s world.  The unholy trinity is the dragon, beast and false prophet. Anti-christ receives authority from the dragon as Christ received His authority from the Father.  As the Holy Spirit glorifies the true Christ, so the false prophet glorifies anti-christ.  The image of the beast recalls the abomination that causes desolation standing where he does not belong.  The mark of the beast is an unholy travesty of the seal stamped on the forehead of the servants of God.

Those who overcome are standing before the heavenly throne.  They hold harps given to them by God.  Van Tanner states “harps represent victory over carnality.  This is the victory referred to in chapter 4 of those who have been perfected by the process of growing in Christ…Their spoken witness of the revelation is a harp (Rev. 14:2) by which these messengers begin the time line of the judgments of God…Harps represent the revelation voice of God given to those who have received the revelation.” (The Seven Thunders of God by: Van Tanner)

Rev. 5:8: And when he had taken the book the four beasts and 24 elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of the saints.

I believe this time line of judgment started 9-11 and is even now being released upon the earth.  The Judgments of God have begun.  It is now time for the Harvest.  We witnessed last Sunday morning and evening, the gift of miracles in operation.   There is a time to prophesy of the judgments of God.  Now is the time to gather in the Harvest.  The Lord will bring forth the “Elect”, those Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Evangelist, Teachers and Workers of Miracles who have been sealed for such a time as this.

Rev. 5:11-12:  And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders; and the number of them was then thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice,   “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.  And every creature which is in the heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and  honor, and glory and power be unto him that sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”

15:3b-4:  “Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty.  Just and true are your ways, King of the ages, who will not fear you, O Lord, and bring glory to your name?  For you alone are holy.  All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

This Song in Exodus is the first recorded song in Scripture and celebrates the crossing of the Red Sea.  God raised up a deliverer, Moses.  The Victory Song of the Book of Revelation is the Victory of the Redeemed who have had their hearts judged in the sea of glass.  I once had a vision that I was standing on the sea of glass and underneath the glass were flames of fire.

Rev. 14:2: And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder; and I heard the voice of harpers harping their harps.

Rev. 1:15:  “His voice as the sound of many waters.”

Ps. 29:3:  “The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thunders; the Lord is upon many waters.”

Ez. 47:1 “Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and beholds, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward;”

The Song of Moses in Revelation 15,  is the song of the Overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and the righteousness of Jesus.  God’s elect will receive the fullness of all of God’s covenant promises to his people.

15:5: “and after that I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened.”

The Tabernacle of the Testimony in Heaven is Jesus Christ, the minister of the true tabernacle.  This is the Kingdom of Heaven where Jesus’ testimony and message originates.  The earthly tabernacle is a shadow of heavenly things. (Heb. 8:6)  “But now he has obtained a more excellent ministry, and the mediator of a better covenant.    (Heb. 9:8-9:  “the Holy Ghost signifying that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while the first tabernacle was yet standing:  which was a figure for the time then present…(11) But Christ having come a high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;…(Vs.15) And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.  For where a testament is there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.  For a testament is in force after men are dead; otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator lives.

Rev. 11:19:  “And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament; and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

The opening of the heavenly sanctuary denotes the unfolding and fulfillment of God’s eternal purposes.

I re-visited this sermon as I was quickened by the word given to me by Wayne Woods.  Also, I believe the Lord revealed to us last week through Cliff Cavin that he has now activated the Saints to bring in the Harvest.  I believe Brother Cavin is one of those chosen by the Lord for such a time as this.
