THE TREASURES OF THE SNOW

Job 38: 22-23: “Have you entered into the treasures of the snow? Or have you seen the treasures of the hail, which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?”
Isaiah 60: 1-2: “Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold; the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people; but the Lord shall arise upon you and His glory shall be seen upon you.”
God is challenging Job out of the whirlwind. He suddenly reveals something that He has reserved the treasures of the snow and the treasures of the hail against the time of trouble.
Before beginning this message on The Treasures of the Snow, I want to salute Principle Dawn Hochsprung and the other teachers who courageously laid down their lives in a time of trouble. I am sure all of Heaven will receive her as a martyr as well as the 20 innocent children.
“God’s people are the most spiritual people on earth. But that should not make us feel proud, only grateful for the marvelous grace of God” (B.B.). Be glad that we are here in that day of battle, and the time of trouble. God has reserved us as a special weapon against the dark forces of the enemy. This is God’s army of overcomers which He has been preparing for the great and terrible day of the Lord.
After the slaughter of the children in Newton, Connecticut, as a people and as a nation, we must say this is a day of darkness and a day of trouble. It is also a day of battle and war that is now raging in the Middle East. Also looming in the near future is the nuclear threat of North Korea. Another world war is not going to break out. It has already broken out when we were attacked by Muslim terrorists. The Psalm 83 war began in March 2012. The destruction of Damascus as described in Isaiah 17 is close to being fulfilled.
America is no longer secure in the idea that our riches will never give out. Now we are sitting on the edge of economic disaster.
If it were left up to us, we would heal Babylon and keep it glued together. However we are commanded by a voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you do not receive of her plagues (Rev. 18.4). Then we are commanded by that same voice from heaven, “Rejoice over her, you heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets; for God has avenged you on her. And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.”
Babylon represents all world powers that are in opposition to God. In Revelation 20, the Lord God will use the Beast system of the spirit of anti-Christ to destroy Babylon. The saints of God are to rejoice!
In Christendom, we have all conceded that our nation is in judgment for our sins of abortion, same-sex marriage, disregard of God and His Holy Word, immorality, rebellion against all that is Godly and the apostasy of a politically correct, watered down gospel.
However, in the midst of the time of trouble and great
darkness, the Lord has promised that in the midst of the darkness, He will
arise in a people and His
Glory shall be seen upon them.
Vision given to Carolyn Sissom September 8, 2003, the Year of Our Lord:
“My Spirit soared into the Heavenlies to the place where cold is kept (Job. 28). The light of Jesus was what I was soaring toward (38:15). I saw a door which was in appearance like a door to a large wooden ice box with locks or bars. Jesus closed the door.” (End of vision)
Job 38:10: “And broke for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, and said, Presently shall you come, but no further; and here shall your proud waves be stayed” Have you commanded the morning since your days; and caused the dayspring to know its place?”
“Have you entered into the treasures of the snow, or have you entered into the treasures of the hail? Which I have reserved against the Day of Battle and War (Job. 38: 22-23).

You are a special treasure, hidden in an earthly field. Jesus gave us a clue as to the price He paid for us. In a parable in Matthew 13:44, a man found a treasure hid in a field. He hides it again and sells all that he has to buy the field. That way, the treasure honestly and legally belongs to him. First he found it, and then he bought it. But it cost him everything. It is not speaking here of us buying the Kingdom of God by giving up everything for Him. You could not, and did not, buy anything. You were the one that was bought. “For you are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Cor. 6:20).
Now that He has the treasure, what does He do with the field (your body)? He plants a vineyard and makes a garden in that which was once just a barren piece of earth. He calls us His garden (Song of Solomon 6:2). Once our lives were unlovely, loaded with rocks, thorns, weeds, insects, and all the other things brought forth by a life of sin. But He saw a treasure in us, paid for us with His own blood (Acts 20:28), and now He gives us new life.

What makes snow? Snow is simply rain which has been transformed and changed into a different structure by conditions in the heavenlies. The people of God are like dew from the Lord (Micah 5:7). Christ is like the rain falling upon mown grass (Psalms 72:6). Snow is simply rain which has been transformed and changed into a different structure by conditions in the heavenlies. The moisture that appears as winter rain in Houston shows up as a heavy snowfall in northern Michigan.
A snowflake comes into existence when the ice particles form around tiny particles of dust floating in space.
There is no question about the fact that God’s people are going through a change. We want to look and see exactly what is taking place in the Treasure House of Snow and Hail. The natural sun draws moisture from the earth up into the heavenlies. This forms clouds from which rain and snow come. The process is called evaporation. The Son of God draws people from and earthly life into the heavenlies with Him where they become “clouds of witnesses”.
“Clouds without rain” are described in the bible as being like false ministries, and like men with false gifts. They have the appearance of one who has ascended with Christ, but they are phony.
Man has the ability to make snow flakes made of plastic. These are counterfeit flakes. These counterfeits have to “hype” the presence of the Lord. These are phony ministries and uncommitted followers. These have been correctly called “plastic Christians”.
Clouds, under the right conditions, bring snow. But sometimes they also bring thunder, lightning, tornadoes, and great storms. Our nation suffered a great storm with the massacre of the children at Newton, Connecticut. This storm of violence was worse than the devastation of Hurricane Sandy.
For those ministries who are preaching a sin-friendly gospel, there will be accountability. “You have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel” (God’s people) to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord”. God goes on to say that His hand would be upon the prophets that seek vanity and do not sound the alarm for his people to stand in the day of battle.
Who will deny that a shaking has begun on the planet earth such as the world has never seen before? Earth’s idols are falling. A better election will not solve the problem.
“Have you ever been awakened at night by the thumping of snow flakes falling on your roof? No, for it comes ever so softly, quietly. I grew up in Southeast Missouri. I experienced many snows. There is no great fanfare, no thunder and lightning. You just wake up in the morning to find that there is ten inches of the white stuff packed in your driveway, and covering your roof. It is beautiful, but if enough of it comes down, it can cause a roof to come crashing in. Don’t let the quietness and seeming humility fool you. If it makes a lot of noise, announcing it arrival, it is not snow.
There are a lot of ministries making much noise and commotion, seeming to be making quiet a “splash” on today’s religious scene. These are not in the snow company of the Lord’s treasures. When it s time for the hail, then there will be noise and commotion. God’s true ministries have been going through a process of learning true humility. Paul wrote that God makes a spectacle of his apostles. That is good news. That means he has found us worthy to process us. Without fanfare or publicity, they are falling quietly, to a lying down of the Adamic life.
Often when I see ice-skaters on television, the Lord shows me they are skating in His glory and anointing. I had a dream last week that I was going through many doors to go to an ice skating rink. In the dream, I thought, I am too old to get out on that rink and ice skate. However, in the next scene, I saw myself in the rink with ice skates holding tight to the rail. I would say a new anointing is coming in which we will not be able to rely on the confidence of the last anointing. That which we are flowing in comfortably will no longer be comfortable.
The secret of the survival of the snowflake is in the joining with the other flakes into a great corporate snowfall. If you watch the beginning of a snowfall, it seems that the flakes just hit the street or the yard and disappear. They melt right away. At first it appears there will be no accumulation of snow. But the first pioneer flakes prepare the ground for the coming of more, and more, and more. Until finally the ground is covered, and in some places it remains covered until spring.
The same process has gone on with the sons of God. Some have been pioneers, and were rejected. The earth was not prepared for their message. But they keep coming, and keep sounding the trumpet until people begin to hear. Their ministry and their efforts are not in vain. The message will be heard in the time of trouble and the day of battle.
If the clouds gave up when the first snowflakes melt, there would be no snowfall. If the pioneers of the end-time message draw back into a shell when they are rejected and attacked, the Church will be a long time coming to maturity and fulfill the end-time mandate. Thank God, some just keep plugging away, in spite of what men say about them.
Until we come to the place where we do not care what people say about us, we will have limited Kingdom power.
The great benefit of snow is that it melts slowly, and the soil gets the maximum benefit out of the moisture. If it never melted, the earth would receive no benefit. This is why the sons of God must be willing to lay their lives down for the ministry God has given them for a dying world. The great burden of sons of God is not to just become “Sons of God”, but to deliver groaning creation from the bondage of death.
At the opening of the fourth seal in Revelation 6, a pale horse rides, and him that sat on him was Death and Hell followed with him.” A pale horse rode into Newtown, Connecticut, on him was Death and Hell followed him. In Revelation 20, Death and Hell are identified as a power and principality who will be the last evil to be thrown in the Lake of Fire. Rev. 20: 13-14: “The Sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them; and they were judged every man according to their works. Death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
Job 38:16-17: “Have you entered into the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the search of the depth? Have the gates of death been opened to you? Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death?”
Death and hell are riding on our television screens. Many of the television programs show dead corpses as part of the story line. I was enjoying N.C.I.S because it was at least patriotic and arrested terrorists and drug czars. However, the Lord convicted me that the visual of the corpses is part of the desensitizing people for death and hell.
“God has tied the Sons of God to creation’s groaning. We cannot reach our goal in Christ until the whole Body of Christ has been delivered. Joshua and Caleb were two of the great heroes in Israel’s history. They both qualified to go in and occupy the Promised Land. They brought back a good report, and had faith to go in and take the land. But it was forty years before either of them got their inheritance. Why? They had to wait until the entire nation had been cleansed of the old generation of unbelievers. And the people were ready to cross Jordan. They could have refused to wait. They could have gone on in to claim what they had seen. But they would have failed miserably, even as some who try the self-projection” theory today.”
Those who refuse to fellowship except on the level of their far-out “divine revelation” are simply insecure little people.
One snowflake by itself, never falls and covers the fences, or waters the earth. No one snowflake is large enough for the work that needs to be done. No one ministry, no matter how great, can fulfill the purpose of God in the earth. Until we learn that the Holy Spirit will do a work in all creation, we cannot understand the purposes of God.
“The miracle of the snowflake is its individuality. No two are alike. Like fingerprints…and like sons of God…each has its own distinct personality and identity. No two are alike. We are never to become clones of another ministry.”
“If you wade out into the middle of the deep snow and try to find one beautiful individual snowflake that fell the night before, they are melted into one another. Each flake has lost its identity in the corporate completeness of the snowfall. There is One Son of God, and his name is Christ. We are one in Him. Jesus is the Head and we are the body. We will bear his likeness, His nature, His identity. There will be no striving for rank and position and power in the treasury of the snow.”
Through Jesus’ blood, we are as “pure as the driven snow”. In Daniel 7:9, we see the Ancient of Days clothed in garments as white as snow. In speaking of Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration, it says (Mark 9:3) “His raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow, so as no fuller on earth can white them.”
Rev. 1:14: “His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow”.
The Treasures of the Hail like the snow is simply rain which has been transformed by the stormy conditions of the heavenlies. While a raindrop falling on your head will never give you a concussion, a baseball; size hailstone can be a potent weapon.
In Revelation 11:19, we see the Temple of God opened in heaven. At this time, “There were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake and great hail.” Yes a shaking is going on, and everything that can be shaken will be shaken and removed (Heb. 12:26).
The Lord has reserved the great hailstones for the day of battle and war. Psalms 149: 6-8 says that the saints of God will have the high praises of God in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the enemies of God. It also says that the saints have the honor of binding the (demonic) kings and principalities. It is God’s treasure house of hailstones at work.
God’s battle-ax and weapons of war are His true and holy people. He is preparing them, as hailstones, for the day of battle.
What and who are theses sons? Look at the snow and hail. We find a people who are pure, free from sin, washed in the blood of Jesus. They are dwelling above the divisions of bondages of man’s sectarianism. They will not be divided from other true born-again Christians. They are not glory seekers, and come not with loud fanfare and great boasting. They have individual spiritual beauty, but are ready to lay down their own lives for the sake of the brethren.
They recognize their destiny is found in the corporate Body of Christ. They are one with the Ancient of Days, though they may be accused of pride, they do not defend themselves, but melt quietly in utter humility in His presence. They are a meek and humble people, made up of the little ones of the earth.
Yet they are called to be God’ battle ax and weapons of war, for with them will He judge the nations. They are as soft and tender as snow in their compassionate relationship with the other members of the Body of Christ. But they are as hard and unyielding as great hailstones, as they attack sin, Satan and the forces of darkness. As rain from heaven, and as melting snow, they have life giving qualities that water the earth and bring forth a restoration to fallen creation.”
Yes, we cannot honestly spin the truth this Sunday and call evil –good”. Evil is not good. That which happened in Newtown, Connecticut was the work of demonic evil.
Heaven is populated today with more martyrs. You heard me joke last week that I have not volunteered for that honor. This week it is not a joke. A Sons of God stood up and lost their life. Children were killed.
“Throughout the history of the universe, evil has manifested a dark form of violence specifically toward children. Not only did the Canaanite nations demand the blood of babies, but the Bible shows where at points of redemptive crisis, the powers of evil have lashed out at children. Pharaoh saw God’s blessing of Israelite children as a curse and demanded they be snuffed out by the power of his armed thugs. Of course, the Christmas narrative we read together this time of year is overshadowed by an act of horrific mass murder of children. King Herod, seeing his throne threatened, demands the slaughter of innocent children.”
Violence against children is also peculiarly satanic because it destroys the very picture of newness of life and dependent trust that characterizes life in the Kingdom of God.”
However, the Sons of God are arising. We will fight the satanic powers.
“Let’s grieve for the innocent. Let’s demand justice for the guilty. Let’s rage against the Reptile behind it all.”
Arise and Shine Sons of God. “Let’s remember that Bethlehem was an act of war. Let’s remember that the One born there is a prince of peace who throws Satan, death and hell into the Lake of Fire for all eternity. We shall overcome!!!!!

Vision of the Heavenly place where cold is kept was given to Carolyn Sissom September 8, 2003.
Much of this sermon is paraphrased from Treasures of the Snow written by Bill Britton. As I was praying about today’s sermon, I happened to notice laying on my coffee table this little booklet. I don’t know how it got there. Since I am the only person living in my home, I am the only one who could have put it there. The mystery is that I am sure I read this booklet many years ago and gleaned from it every thing I could. However, I curiously picked it up and began to flip through the pages. I realized the Prophet Bill Britton had prophesied a timely word for this time of trouble.
This sermon is inconclusive of the booklet. If you have not read the book, I recommend it to you, Bill Britton, P. O. Box 707, Springfield, Missouri 65801. I do not know if that address is still current. I paraphrased the message to fit this present situation.
