THE SEALS OF DAVID
(Kingly Seal, Tabernacle of David and The Salt Covenant)

God sealed David both by covenant and by revelation. He had multiple seals on his life. Today we will study the Kingly Seal, Tabernacle of David and the Salt Covenant.
1 Chron. 11:3: David made a covenant with the elders of Israel at Hebron before the Lord. Then they anointed David king over Israel according to the word of the Lord by Samuel.
This is a double covenant. Double seals characterized David’s life. 2 Sam 5:12: David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.
Perceived meant he grasped with total understanding his place in the Kingdom of God. From the moment he perceived, he knew the seal of God was upon his life. The solid foundation of God stands, having this seal.
The seal of God, on the lineage of David comprises the greater part of Chronicles. Nathan the prophet knew David’s place in the Kingdom. Carte blanche was denied David because God did not include the actual building of the Temple in the Davidic seal. This would be in Solomon’s seal. (God’s people are sealed to tasks and their place in spiritual history is to always be about the Father’s business.) David’s building denial would be important at the end-time. The Tabernacle of David is to be restored, not the Temple.
Acts 15:16: After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up.
“The issue of the Council of Jerusalem was whether the Christians were to continue to receive Gentiles into the commonwealth of Israel on the basis of circumcision and the law? Or would they receive them as brethren because of their faith in Jesus Christ, without subjecting them to the ordinances of the Law? James brought forth an argument from the scriptures that would settle the whole issue. James told the Council that they ought not try to make Jews out of Gentiles according to the old law, because God promised in the scriptures that the Tabernacle of David would be rebuilt and in that new order God would receive the Gentiles as His very own and place His Name upon them….James was clearly saying that God was now rebuilding the Tabernacle of David, as Amos had prophesied…”the residue of men (or the rest of mankind)” were in God’s plan from the beginning, and were now to be received as brethren in this hour of the rebuilding of the Tabernacle of David.”(George Warnock – From Tent to Temple)
It would be David, not Solomon, who bridged the Old Testament to the New Testament.
The Lord established the house of David as the kingdom of David’s son, Solomon, but referencing Jesus, He said, “He will build Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be His Father, and he shall be My son. I will not take my mercy away from him, and I took it from him was before you (Saul). I will establish Him in my house and in My kingdom forever; and his throne shall be established forever. (17: 23-24).
David went before the Lord after hearing Nathan’s prophetic seal. He glorified God, then he sealed the words of the Lord with his own lips. He came into union with God when he declared: Let it be established forever, and do as You have said, so let it be established, that Your name may be magnified forever…and now You have been pleased to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue before you forever; for You have blessed it, O Lord, and I shall be blessed forever. 17:27.
The restoration of the Tabernacle of David is the principle of the restoration of the Church in the areas of worship and ministry (principle of divine order).
The Tabernacle of David comes between the Tabernacle of Moses and the Temple of Solomon. It remained approximately 40 years. It was given by revelation to David and was a single tent with a single piece of furniture, the Ark of the Covenant (Presence of the Lord).
The Tabernacle of David was the transplanting of the Most Holy Place. The Ark was not brought back to the Tabernacle of Moses on Mount Gibeon, but to the Tent that had been prepared on Mount Zion, the mountain of worship and sacrifice.
Simply stated the Tabernacle of David is a people for God’s NAME. The purpose of restoring and building again this people is that the remnant of Edom (the residue of men) might seek the Lord, and the heathen (Gentiles) might have the NAME of the Lord.
Amos 9:11: In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old; that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen which are called by my NAME, say the Lord who does this.
John 14: 12b… because I go unto My Father. Whatsoever you shall ask in my NAME, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Ps. 89: 34-37: My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David; His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me; it shall be established forever like the moon, even like the faithful witness in the sky.
The seal on the throne of Davis is a covenant of greater implication than the covenant with Abraham. When Jesus confronted the Pharisees, who defensively declared they were sons of Abraham, Jesus answered them from the throne of David. The throne of David found it fruition in Jesus.
John 14: 23-24: Jesus answered, if a man love Me, he will keep My words; and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him and make Our abode with Him.. He who does not love me will not keep my sayings. The word which you hear is not mine, but of the Father, who sent me.
This is an amazing statement in an amazing chapter. The “We” includes the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the Father and the Son. We will come unto him and make Our abode with Him. Since we have the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit abiding in us, why would a Christian ever look upon, identify ourselves, or attach ourselves with that which is not Holy. This is the tabernacle of God in his people---the true Shekinah. The Shekinah is in us. What then is the real dignity of man when the God of glory is able to dwell within him? The basis for this privilege is heart obedience to the Word of God.
In 2 Chronicles 13:5, there is a mystery covenant made with David. It is the covenant of salt. Ought you to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David forever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
The covenant of salt is only mentioned three times in the Bible: 2 Chr. 13:5, Lev. 2:13 and Numbers 18:19.
In 2 Chr. 13:5, we see the power of this ancient covenant in action. Abijah, the king of Judah stands with his 400,000 men ready to war against Israel’s 800,000 soldier army led by King Jeroboam. Abijah warned King Jeroboam they should reconsider attacking because of a divine covenant Judah has based on salt. Jeroboam did not heed the warning, and 500,000 of Jeroboam’s men died. Jeroboam ran squarely into the salt covenant seal.
The northern kingdom was not merely in rebellion against David’s seal, but against the Lord himself. They had adopted a corrupt and invalid religion. The covenant of salt was a perpetual covenant that could not be broken. Salt speaks of grace.
Col. 4:6: Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man.
Being sealed by a covenant of salt meant more than irrevocability; it meant being sealed against invading elements; it is similar to a preservative. Has the salt lost its savor remains a good question for the church? Has the irrevocable trust that God has deposited into the body been compromised by the erosion of its seal?
Mark 9:49: For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. Salt is good; but if the salt has lost his saltiness, what will you season with?
In Lev. 2:13, salt was added to the meal offering. For the New Covenant, this is the Grace of Christ the Head and Body which makes life savory to God and man. Salt is a preservative and has an action opposing that of leaven and honey; and of corrupting substances in general. It became a symbol of hospitality, durability and fidelity.
The Salt Covenant joins the imputed righteousness of God with the personal righteousness that every recipient of grace has the privilege and duty to walk in. Through Christ we can walk in this divine covenant and truly be, as He called us, the salt of the earth (Mt. 5:13).
We, who are heirs of the Old Testament and New Testament should stand and cry out to the spirit of antichrist over our nation, We are sealed with the Blood of Christ who is the testator of both the Old and New Covenant. We are the Temple of God, the abode of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We are joint heirs with Jesus Christ, and for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. (Heb. 9:15)
We will not back away, we will not bow down. We will not submit to tyranny, but will stand in the sure foundation of God. He knows them who are his. Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity. (1 Ti. 2:19)
The New Covenant, the Davidic Covenant inclusive of the Salt Covenant, the Abrahamic as well as the other five covenants of the Old Testament are each an extension of the other. God confirmed the New Covenant with an oath/seal (Heb. 7: 20-28). The Kingdom Covenant is a Father-Son relationship.
Bobby Conner stated at the Texas Ablaze Conference that the biggest conflict in the Church in the coming years will be Son-ship. Not so at Eastgate. Every one in this church knows that you are to be a Kodak-color copy of Jesus Christ.
Christians (residue of Edom) are the Tabernacle of David, thus the Davidic Covenant is fulfilled in Jesus and the New Covenant through His Blood.
Today I offer as a prophetic action for you to participate in the sprinkling of salt and in that action, like David we are declaring. Let it be established forever, and do as You have said, so let it be established, that Your name may be magnified forever…and now You have been pleased to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue before you forever; for You have blessed it, O Lord, and I shall be blessed forever. 17:27.
We are of the house of the Father.
John 14: 2-6: In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you unto Myself; that where I am there you may be also. Where I go, you know and you will know the way.
