ISAIAH – Chapter 12
The Remnant’s Song of Redemption

This song is for the events and truths of chapter 11, of the Messianic Kingdom and the man whose name is the Branch.
This Kingdom is made prominent by the Spirit without measure; is righteous in character; in a state of tranquility; is universal in extent; is a Kingdom whose Ensign is Jesus Christ; and whose object of worship is Jesus Christ.
This song tells of the joys of the Feast of Tabernacles, (the Glory of God).
- Passover Feast = The Lamb of God, Jesus Christ
- Feast of Pentecost = The Holy Spirit
- Feast of Tabernacles = The Glory of God
We are approaching the annual Jewish Feast of Tabernacles which begins on Sept. 19th and lasts 8 days. Jesus Christ, “Jah” is the Lord most vehement. It is Jehovah in a special sense as already becoming our salvation. Jesus Christ fulfilled all the Feast days, the temple sacrifices and the Law.
The Song of Faith – the Believer’s Song of Redemption
12: 1-5: “In that day, you shall say, ‘O Lord (Jehovah) I will praise you; though you were angry with me, your anger is turned away, and your comforted me. Behold, God (El) is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall you draw water out of the wells of Salvation.”
“El” =“Salvation = saved; deliverance; aid, victory. Prosperity, health, welfare –used 28 times in Isaiah”.
This praise is unto Immanuel because the Divine anger is turned away at the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross and comfort abounds. This song is now being sung in the Day of the Lord! As Christians we are experiencing the joys of this day.
We can compare this with the Song of Hannah:
- Sam 2: 1-10:
“My heart rejoices in the Lord, my horn is exalted in the Lord:
My mouth is enlarged over my enemies; because I rejoice in Your salvation.
There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside You;
Neither is there any rock like our God.
Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogance come out of your mouth;
For the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed;
The bows of the mighty men are broken.
They that stumbled are girded with strength.
They that were full have hired out themselves for bread.
They that were hungry ceased; so that the barren has born seven;
She that has many children is waxed feeble.
The Lord kills, and makes alive;
He brings down to the grave and brings up.
The Lord makes poor, and makes rich.
He brings low, and lifts up.
He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the beggar from the dunghill,
To set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory;
For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s and he has set the world upon them.
He will keep the feet of His saints,
And the wicked shall be silent in darkness;
For by strength shall no man prevail.
The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces;
Out of heaven shall He thunder upon them;
The Lord shall judge the ends of the earth;
And He shall give strength to His king, and exalt the horn of His anointed.”
We can also compare this with the Magnificat of Mary; the Song of Moses and Rev. 14: 1-8.
The first three verses of this song for the remnant emphasize the Believer’s Song of Redemption. This is a Song for the Most Holy Place, a realm of no anger of the Lord. The comfort and grace from the Mercy-seat is there in the Holiest of all. The civil war from within, the duality and all its frustrations and futility are left behind in the Feast of Pentecost (celebrated with leaven). The wells of salvation are the Holy Spirit in His sons, each of whom is a container and a dispenser, of the New Life of the New Covenant.
In the Third dimension, He becomes our PRAISE and SONG and STRENGTH. As we are learning the ways of the Lord in the realm of the Feast of Tabernacles, we will ever-increasingly grow and become HIS PRAISE and SONG and STRENGTH! We have put on Christ. We are in Christ. He will put us on!
12: 4-6: “IN THAT DAY shall you say, “Praise the Lord, call upon His name, declare His doings among the people, make mention that His name is exalted. Sing unto the Lord; for he has done excellent things; this is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, you inhabitant of Zion; for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of you.’”
In these two verses, we have the remnant’s united Song of Redemption. These two verses change from the singular to the plural “you” as each redeemed one joins the choir of those who are walking in the Kingdom. Immanuel reigns supreme over all the earth!
This is the song of the 144,000 of Revelation 14: 1-8. All the nations and peoples shall come under the influence of this Song! The name of the Father that marks his sons will be dispensed into all the earth. This song of His excellence is one that reveals the More Excellent Ministry of the Most Holy Place. The soul will have risen to the heights of Zion (the realm of the Spirit). This will bring redemption to the Body (the earth).
Rom. 8: 14-17: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. You have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God; And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.”
1 Pet. 1:9: “Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.”
Hebrews 10: 38-39: “”The just shall live by faith; but if any man draw back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back to perdition (destruction); but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”
Rev. 14: 1-3: “I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on Mt. Zion, and with Him a 144,000 having His Father’s name written in their foreheads. I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder; and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps. They sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders; and no man could learn that song but the 144,000, which were redeemed from the earth.”
The water in the wells of salvation has become the voice of many waters. Jesus Christ the head and His Body.
Jesus Christ is our STRENGTH, OUR SONG, AND OUR SALVATION.
Zion is the place where God’s most glorious praise is known, because there the fullness of salvation is known in the lives of the redeemed.
Zion is the source of strength and support for the people of God, especially in the day of trouble.
Zion is the place where praise to the Lord is perfected: a praise which arises out of a perfect rest in the Lord, so much so that silent expectation becomes praise in Zion. In Zion is the realm of perfection.
Zion is loved much by the Lord and therefore glorified much by Him.
Zion is where the Lord reigns in the now. It is the realm from which the Scepter (Rod) of His strength is stretched forth. The mercy-Seat in the most Holy Place is the throne of grace from which this new life issues.
Zion is the most established and sure place in the world. No government, nation, refuge, or stronghold of this age can compete with it.
Zion is known, not traced with a boundary. Zion is experienced. Zion is a place of being in God. Zion is the Most Holy Place of the Tabernacle of Moses with all its truths. Zion is a reality. Heb. 12: 22-24: “You have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect. And to Jesus the mediator of the New Covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than that of Abel.”
This day that Isaiah sees in the realm of the Spirit is today for the redeemed. Zion is a reality now for the redeemed who will walk in the Spirit, who have been apprehended unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. This is the “pure in heart” spoken of by Rev. Darrell McManus on Sunday. Those in Zion are under the full and complete Lordship of Jesus Christ!
According to the prophecy spoken by Bro. McManus, that in this day (today), the Lord is bringing together the “Pure in heart’ from all over the world, this is that which was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah.
Verses 1-3 are the song of the redeemed of the individual believer. Verses 4-6 are the gathering together of this company together into one song of the redeemed. Bro. McManus spoke of this as the Lord gathering together a great company of the “pure in heart”.
The first song (Verses 1-3) celebrates the personal blessings of the day described, while the second (4-6) sets for the gracious results to the peoples of the earth issuing from the restoration of the people of God. These great and glorious prophecies are being fulfilled in this day.
Chapter 12 closes out the Messianic section of Isa. 7-12. The Book of Isaiah is divided into eight “books” or sections.,
- Chapters 1-5 – The Book of Judgment
- Chapter 6 – The Book of Commissioning
- The Book of “Immanuel” – chapters 7-12

(b) Chapter 8 – Father/Sons = signs/Wonders
(c) Chapter 9 – A Child is born, a Son is Given
(d) Chapter 10 – Promise of Punishment
(e) Chapter 11—Meet the Righteous Branch
(f) Chapter 12 – Time of Praise
Next week, we will begin a new section, The book of Foreign Prophecies – chapter 13-23. Chapter 13 begins the section of ten burdens concerning the nations.
13:17: speaks of Russia and Iran. “Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.”
However, for the redeemed, we have come to Mount Zion. We are singing the song of the redeemed, for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of us.
Luke 1: 47-55:
“My souls does magnify the Lord,
My spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the low estate of His handmaiden;
For, behold, from hereafter all generations shall call me blessed.
For He that is mighty has done to me great things; and holy is His name.
His mercy is on them that fear Him from generation to generation.
He has showed strength with His arm;
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
He has filled the hungry with good things;
And the rich he has sent
empty away.
he has helped His servant Israel,
in remembrance of His mercy;
He spoke to our Father, to Abraham, and to His seed forever.”
