JESUS IN THE TABERNACLE - The Gate, Door and Vail
JESUS CHRIST IN THE TABERNACLE – The Gate, Door and Vail.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study
September 18, 2018, the Year of Our Lord
For at least the past twenty years or more, I have taught every year on the Feast of Tabernacles. I have presented Jesus Christ in Tabernacles by typology throughout the Holy Word whether in the celebration of the feast days, temple, tabernacle, sacrifices, garments, etc., etc. This teaching is presenting Jesus Christ in the three entrances into the Tabernacle of Moses.
(11 Cor. 3: 13-18) But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
THE THREE ENTRANCES INTO THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES
(11 Peter 1:11)
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
THE THREE ENTRANCES INTO THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES:
- The Gate into the Outer Court - Passover
- The Door into the Holy Place - Pentecost
- The Vail into the Holy of Holies – Tabernacles.
The one outstanding factor that made this Tabernacle different from the heathen temples of other nations was the Presence of God, the Shekinah Glory of His Presence in the cloud and fire. We, the Church of the 21st Century, the temple of the Holy Spirit in our earthly bodies, are not different from the heathen religions if we are not carrying the cloud and fire of His Presence.
The Tabernacle of Moses originated in the mind and planning of God:
- God gave the Divine Blueprint, pattern, order to His man. (Ex. 25:40).
- His man gave this Divine Order to His people.
- God is a God of principle and we are a people of His principle.
- God will only honor and bless with His Presence, His own program and His way (Method) of doing to accomplish His purposes (Ps. 127:1).
- This Divine Pattern carries to the book of Revelation – altar (6:9); laver (4:6); candlestick (1:12); golden altar (8:3), and Ark (11:19).
- The Revelation of this Divine pattern given by God begins with the Ark and moves toward man in the place outside the Gate.
- The Revelation of this Divine pattern apprehended by man begins outside the Gate and moves toward God and the Ark (God’s Throne).
The camp was located at the foot of Mt. Sinai (Ex. 19:2, 11); the structure was erected one year after the Red Sea, on the first day of the first month of the New Year,
The Cloud of God’s Presence and blessing honored the Divine Order and Placement of the Camp. The Cloud is a type of the Presence and Glory of God, as the Lord Jesus, as the Holy Spirit, and as the Spirit of God. (Salvation – Passover; Holy Spirit Baptism-Pentecost; and The Spirit of God – Tabernacles).
The whole nation of Israel was delivered by Blood, Water, and Spirit:
- Blood of the Passover Lamb – Jesus Christ.
- Water – Baptized into Moses – water baptism.
- Spirit – Baptized in the Cloud – Holy Ghost Baptism.
I. THE GATE INTO THE OUTER COURT:
The first entrance into the Outer Court was from the East side. It’s measurements were 20 cu. (30 ft) wide and 5 cu. (7-1/2 ft.) high; there was 15 cu. of linen fence on either side of the gate on the east side.
TYPOLOGY:
The only entrance into the courts of the Lord is the Lord Jesus Christ. (Jn. 14:6; Acts. 4:12). Everyone had to come the same way; man could enter; but only God’s way (Eph. 2: 11-18). The east side was the side of the rising of the Sun – the Israelites entered in LIGHT (Num. 2:3).
It was a wide gate – a universal gate for “whosoever will” (1 Tim. 2:4); this emphasizes the ‘BREADTH’ of Eph. 3:18- an invitation to the whole world; this Gate kept out the one who refused to enter and kept in the one who chose to enter; the number 5 stresses the GRACE extended through this Gate; the number 15 (REST) on either side of the Gate reveals the REST offered to those who choose to enter (Mt. 11:28-30).
The entrance into the Courts of the Lord is not complicated; this Gate can accommodate everyone and anyone who desires to come; the Lord Jesus Christ as made a way for all men. (Jn. 3:16)
There were four pillars of brass set in brass sockets; these pillars were capped in silver and connected by silver fillets or connecting rods; the gate hung from silver hooks connected to the pillars. The four pillars - the world-wide availability of the gate or the Four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. There were also four women in the genealogy of Christ (Mt. 1:3, 5, 6). It is the church that extends an invitation through this Gate. (1 Tim 3:5; Rev. 3:12); the BRASS emphasizes that sin has been judged so that we can enter or the truth can stand strong in His redemption; the Silver speaks of Christ’s Redemption offered in this Gate; the sockets and caps – Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the author and Finisher of our faith (Rev. 22:13); the silver hooks – everything hangs on Christ’s Blood; Rods-His redemption is the unifying factor of the four gospels (pillars)
This Gate was a Beautiful Gate – it attracted people (Song 5:16); It was also a Distinctive Gate for one could not mistake it for the rest of the wall of linen fence. There can be no mistaking that the Scriptures reveal but one way into the courts of the Lord, even Jesus Christ.
The gate was made of needlework of fine twined linen and the colors of blue, purple, and scarlet. This inwrought work and colors show the life of Christ was inwrought, in worked, outworked, and indwelt by the Spirit of God, the work of the Holy Spirit (Col. 1:19; 2:9; Jn. 3:34).
- The Outer Gate leads to the Brazen Altar and the forgiveness of sins at the Cross through the shedding of His blood – for all Israel.
- The Outer court is the realm of the New Birth (Jn. 3:1-8).
- It is the Feast of Passover – The Lamb of God.
- It is the realm of common salvation (Jude 3).
- It is the pattern Son Jesus at Birth (Lk. 2:7).
- It is the realm of Little Children (1 Jn. 2:12).
- It is pictured by Israel coming out of Egypt (deliverance).
- It is the realm of the 30-fold Christian. (Mt. 13:23).
- It is the elementary realm of Thanksgiving for gifts and mercies.
- It is the realm of natural light (sun).
- It is the realm of the Good Will of God (Rom. 12:2).
- It is the dust of Abraham’s seed (Gen. 13:16).
- It is the realm of the foolish virgins of Mt. 25.
- It is pictured in the brass vessels of Ezra 1:10.
- It is pictured in the Gleans of the Harvest.
- It is the realm of the first sealing – conversion and water baptism (Ex. 28:21; Mt. 15:19; Rom 4:11)
- It is the realm of the first anointing – kill a bear, lion, giant (1Sa. 16).
- It is the realm of the First Baptism of the Sea – escape from Egypt; water baptism (I Cor. 10:2)
- It is the realm of the First Heaven (Eph. 1:3)
- It is the first level of Noah’s Ark, and Solomon’s and Ezekiel’s Temples.
II THE DOOR INTO THE HOLY PLACE (Ex. 26:36-37; 36: 37-38)
This was the only entrance into the Holy Place. This speaks of Christ the Door (Jn. 10:7-9). The measurements to the Holy Place were 10 x 10 x 20 = 2000 cubits. Jesus is the only entrance into the sheep-fold of His church and all priestly ministry is done through Him.
Those born again in the realm of the Outer Court are to be filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts. 2:4); Eph. 5:17-18) and then develop a spiritual ministry in the many-membered Body of Christ (Eph. 4:16). The Door was a High Door – this emphasizes the “Height” and shows a higher plane of the Christian walk and a greater dimension of the Spirit as well as a more exalted view of the glorified Christ. The Door was half as wide as the Gate – it was a narrow door that reveals more discipline in the walk as priests (! Pet. 2: 1-10) for it was not to be for all Israel as was the Gate .
Matt. 7:13-14: Enter in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in. Because strait is the gate and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.
The Church is the place of Priestly ministry, for we are made Kings and Priests unto God (Rev. 1:6). God desires to raise up in the earth a “kingdom of priests” (Ex. 19:6) through His Church; He wants a many-membered body of saints to be joints of spiritual ministry through the gifts of the Holy Ghost (1 Cor. 12: 8-10), 12-26); this end-time church has access as an army of King-Priests to offer up spiritual sacrifices, in a spiritual priesthood, in a spiritual house containing the many truths of the Golden Candlestick, Table of Shewbread, and Altar of Incense.
The wood (humanity) and gold (divinity) again reveal the two natures of Christ, the Head and the Body; the brass sockets – speaks of the outer court. The outer court can also be likened to the 1500-year dispensation of the Law – thus, Christ stands at the end of the Law (brass) and is the Door into the Church and the present dispensation of the Holy Spirit (gold); this could also be said of the Pillar Ministries of the early church (Gal. 2:9) who saw the closing of one age (worship in the temple) and the dawn of another new age (the church and the New Covenant); the gold caps (crowns) show the crowning of Christ the Head and Body (Heb. 2:9-10); Golden Hooks – everything mentioned in connection with the Door and the Holy Place hangs on the Divinity of Christ. (Jn. 1:1-18)
This Door was a beautiful door (Song 5:16). The word for “needlework” in Ex. 26:36 means “The work of the embroiderer” (the Holy Spirit).
- The Tabernacle Door leads to the Sanctuary and the various priestly ministries of the Candlestick, Table, and Altar – for the Priest.
- The Holy Place is the realm of the Spirit-Filled church and the Holy Ghost Baptism of Acts 2.
- It is the Feast of Pentecost – first fruits (Rom 8:23)
- It is the realm of Great Salvation (Heb. 2:3-4).
- It is the pattern Son Jesus in the temple (Lk. 2:40)
- It is the realm of Young Men (1 Jn. 2:13).
- It is pictured by Israel moving in the wilderness (discipline).
- It is the realm of the 60-fold Christian (Mt. 13:23).
- It is the realm of the deep appreciation of Praise.
- It is the realm of Artificial Light (Candlestick)
- It is the realm of the acceptable will of God (Rom. 12:2).
- It is the sand of Abraham’s seed (Gen. 22:17).
- It is the realm of the wise virgins of Mt. 25.
- It is pictured in the silver vessels of Ezra 1:10.
- It is pictured in the bulk of the harvest.
- It is the realm of the second sealing – Holy Ghost Baptism (Ex. 28: 9-11; Eph 1: 13-14)
- It is the realm of the second Anointing (David, King over Judah – Judah means “praise” II Sa. 2:4).
- It is the realm of the second baptism of the cloud – divine leadership;
Rain; shade; comfort; Holy Ghost Baptism (1Cor. 10:2)
- It is the realm of the second heaven (Eph. 2:6).
- It is the second level of Noah’s Ark, and Solomon’s and Ezekiel’s Temples.
III THE VAIL INTO THE HOLY OF HOLIES (Ex. 16:31-33; 36: 35-36; Heb. 9:25)
Note: Some of the Veils of the Bible:
The Vail of the Tabernacle; the Temple of Solomon; of Rebekah (Gen. 24:65); of Tamar; upon Moses’ face; of the Shulamite; upon the nations (Isa. 25:6-9); of blindness of Israel (2 Cor. 3: 13-16); of Herod’s Temple that was rent; Vail of Christ’s flesh (Heb. 10: 19-20) and the Veil of he Woman.
There is a place in Christ where every Veil will be abolished, and we shall behold Him face to face. (1 Cor. 13:12; Rev. 22:4)
Description of This Third Entrance:
- The Veil was made of “cunning work. The Hebrew word for “Cunning” means “The Work of a Thinker”- the Incarnation of Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, was the purpose of the Father. The truths seen in the linen, the colors, and the Cherubim were inwrought by the wisdom and Spirit of God to the Divine pattern.
- The Veil as the only entrance into the Holy of Holies. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way into the Holiest of all; as the pattern and firstborn Son, he has entered that dimension of Life and has provided a way for us to follow His example; Christ has provided an access to the Father because of the Incarnation- He has been tempted in all points yet has emerged and overcome in every area of life.
- The measurements were 10 cu. (15 ft.) and 10 cu. wide. The number 10 reveals the responsibility of those who are born again and Spirit-filled (Outer Court and the Holy Place) to press into the Maturity of the High Calling in Christ Jesus (Eph. 4:13). Like the door into the Holy Place, the Veil was high and narrow. The Veil was 10 x 10 and emphasizes that the 100-fold will enter as did Jesus.
- Jesus Christ our Great High Priest after the order of Melchizedeck entered into the Holy of Holies to make atonement for us. The Word made flesh tore down this wall of separation as He made atonement for Jew and Gentile. There are a people who will go beyond the veil in the 7th month (perfection) to sit down with their overcoming High Priest (Rev. 3:21)
- There were four pillars upholding the Veil. The four pillars were cut off and uncrowned. This speaks of Christ who was cut off and the humiliation of His incarnation. The Incarnation depends upon Christ’s divinity for He was the word made flesh.
With the exception of the inwrought Cherubim in the veil, all three entrances were made of the same material. Since the veil represents flesh, we can conclude that a wall of flesh stands before each realm to hinder mankind from entering into the New Birth, the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and Full Maturity. This is man’s fleshly intellect and understanding.
- The Veil leads into the Holy of Holies and the Fullness of God’s presence at the Ark of the Covenant (the throne of God).
- The Holy of Holies is the realm of full maturity as the Sons of God who have come to Jesus Christ’s full stature and image.
- It is the Feast of Tabernacles.
- It is the realm of Eternal Salvation.
- It is the pattern Son Jesus at the Jordan.
- It is the realm of the Fathers.
- It is pictured by Israel moving into the land.
- It is the realm of the 100-fold Christian.
- It is the realm of the adoration of worship.
- It is the realm of divine light (Shekinah glory of God).
- It is the realm of the perfect will of God.
- It is the stars of Abraham’s seed.
- It is the realm of the watchman of Mt. 25 who gave the midnight cry.
- It is pictured in the gold vessels of Ezra 1:10 and 11 Tim 2:20.
- It is pictured in the first fruits of the harvest.
- It is the realm of the Third Sealing – the mind of Christ in the forehead.
- It is the realm of the Third Anointing – oil on the beard at the age of 30; ruler ship of all things.
- It is the realm of the Third Baptism in the Jordan – entrance into Canaan; baptized unto Joshua; baptized into conflict.
- It is the realm of the Third Heaven.
- It is the Third level of Noah’s Ark, and Solomon’s and Ezekiel’s Temples.
The Veil was rent when Christ died. It was rent by God and not my man. God smote his Son. The rent veil was 17-1/2 ft. high (no human hand could reach it), 4 inches thick and required 60 men to handle it.
It was rent in the midst with direct access with no more wall of petition. It was rent completely – completeness of Christ’s sacrifice, the broken body of Jesus at Calvary (it is finished).
The results of the Rent Veil:
Provided an access.
Exposed all that had been concealed.
Revealed the Glory
Abolished the Old Testament
Will not be repeated.
It is finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 18, 2018 – Tuesday Morning Bible Study
Heb. 13:10 – We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.
Perhaps I will teach on the altars next Tuesday.
The religious world does not need another form to copy from outpourings in other generations. Secular religion already has enough demagogues to supply their materials. What the world system should observe is a holy people, receiving a holy message, mingled with holy fire, from a holy God, out of a Holy Heaven from the coals of fire before the altar of God.
The keeper of Heaven’s flame seeks not do an old thing but to do a “new thing in Zion.” He is the divider of the flames. Since He alone is the distributor, the call is not for another wizard to throw down a rod, but for God to show up and divide the flames.
Psalm 29:7: The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire.
It is still His voice through the flames, that will prove the genuine prophecy, the genuine wonder and the genuine message. Religious opinions and traditions have no value in the midst of the fire of God.
Isaiah 10:17: So the Light of Israel will be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame.
Throughout centuries, those who have known “the message tried in the fire and through the fire,” are the fire carriers and fire starters. Ministry must be defined by the fire.
In heaven is a fire ready to consume the altar on earth before which stand God’s vessels who have laid the wood of their being on the golden altar.
Joel 2:29-31: I will pour out My Spirit in those days, and I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth. Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.
The voice from the Golden Altar is a solitary voice above the multitude of voices. It s the voice of many waters and His voice says, “You sin will keep you from My Glory.” The Lord desires an altar where the fire is never allowed to die.
For the people of the earth to be blessed, the church must provide a holy and pure altar within our temple, our fleshly body.
Mark 9: 48-49: …the fire is not quenched for everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.
When the true fire-message is kindled before the people, then there will be a pouring out of the Spirit of God such as has not been seen in this generation.
When a corporate groaning comes from the people of God, out from among them will step the man/woman of God to stand before the altar of God and seek one thing: The LORD OUR GOD. The cloud of His Presence has entered the most unlikely places. God desires for the Triumphant Church to go beyond any of man’s current experiences, past the limits of the imaginations of the grandest revivalist, to a place in the Spirit where the fire never dies and the altar never cools.
