THE SIGN OF THE SON OF MAN

We are to be a people who understand the signs of the times. The Holy Spirit is speaking and giving fore-glimpses to those who have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. At the same time, Satan uses these very signs as means of introducing all manner of deceptions and false teachings. He has influenced some to claim they are Christ, come again in the flesh, and countless souls have been led off into deception and darkness.
We are watching now as a once great revivalist is being led into deception by stating that homosexuality is not a sin. This is one of the signs listed in Matthew 24. “Many will be deceived.”
It is of great importance that we know how to discern God’s signs in heaven and upon earth. It is only as we discern and understand them that we shall be able to follow them on to their fulfillment.
Mat. 24:30: Then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
In Luke 11, Jesus delivered a man who was mute from a dumb spirit that made him unable to speak. The crowd challenged Jesus as to whether he was acting in the power of God or of Beelzebub, the chief of the devils. Jesus rebuked them for demanding a mighty display of power to prove who He is.
Lk. 11:28-30: Blessed are they that hear the word of God and keep it. When the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation, they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall the Son of man be to this generation.
Jesus Christ was their sign!
We must be very wise, that we are not a generation seeking after a sign; yet the Word of God tell us that the disciples came to Jesus privately saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the world? Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you. (Mt. 24: 3-4).
He then gives the disciples 24 Signs of the Second Coming:
- Deceptions (repeated four times in four verses).
- False Christs
- Wars and rumors of wars
- Famines
- Pestilences
- Earthquakes
- Nation rises against Nation.
- Offenses
- Betrayals
- Hatred
- False Prophets
- Lawlessness abounding
- Love decreasing
- Gospel preached to the whole world
- Abomination of desolation
- Great tribulation
- Woe to those who are with child and give suck (law of abortion and infanticide)
- Sun be darkened.
- Moon not give her light.
20. Stars shall fall from heaven. (Interesting that in Isa. 9:15 Isaiah says the prophet that teaches lies, he is the tail- The book of Revelation refers to ministers as stars---perhaps this has a dual interpretation.)
- The powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
- Great signs and wonders
- Flight from Judea.
24: 30: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven.
In our generation, we have witnessed all of the above. I have no great revelation to add to this Word; nor will I join the many theories, deceptions and false teachings of vain interpretations of those who wish to make a name for themselves. Quite the contrary, my offering today of this teaching to the Lord and to this Church is only information which has been revealed to me by vision and that which I have gleaned from others who also, like me, see in part, and know in part.
Yet it is of great importance that we know how to discern God’s signs in heaven and upon earth, and that we interpret them according to the clear teaching of the Word, not adding to, or taking away. I offer no answers today, only information and a mystery of God which appears to be unfolding only to those who are wise and have eyes to see.
As I mentioned last week, my Spirit jumped within me, when I read the book, Ladies of Gold and visions of Frances Metcalfe.
“The sign of the Son of Man is in the heavens,
The sign of the Son of Man is in the earth,
Proclaiming the promised day of His appearing,
When many sons shall be brought to glorious birth.” (F.M.)
As you have heard me preach often, in 1989, I had a vision that the man-child had been born.
VISION: I was in the Spirit under the anointing of the prophetic ecstasy. I was raptured by the Spirit into a vision. I saw a silver trumpet blow from the clouds. Some of the functions of the trumpet are to prepare us for a vision, for a move of God, for a revelation or message.
I did not see the Sun Clothed Woman, but I saw a man child just born being lifted up by angels into Heaven. Then I saw in the clouds a man in a black iron suit holding an iron scepter.
Then I saw a woman with wings carried into the earth, a flood of water gushed in on her. She would have been destroyed except she was placed in a protective clear capsule. It seemed to be a protective seal placed around her. The woman was born up on wings.
She was then removed to the desert.
The scene changed and I saw many angels releasing miles of blue ribbon from Heaven. I heard a voice in the vision; telling me to call out the names of people for their souls to be saved.

Post Script – Since that time, I have seen everyone who I called out their name come to the LORD.
The Son of Man by: Frances Metcalfe (paraphrased):
“Perhaps you are among those who have been wondering, waiting, longing to know more about what Jesus meant when He spoke to His disciples of the end of the age, and of its climatic portent: Then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in the heavens… Or it may be you are among the blessed ones who have already caught a glimpse of His sign and have risen to follow it with joy.
At the first advent of our Lord Jesus Christ, there can be no reasonable doubt that the star which led the wise Men was not illusionary, but real, and that it was seen for an indefinite period of time by witnesses. However, only a few of them understood its meaning. And fewer still found their way to the manger of the infant Son of God. But the Magi did. They not only beheld the star with great joy, but rose to follow it. They knew its real purpose was not to attract their attention but to inspire them and direct them to a God-appointed destination and destiny. So they followed it on and on, over many a dangerous and wearisome road until---after a disheartening delay in Jerusalem, they came at last to “the house” and found “the young Child and Mary, His mother.
Likewise in this latter day, those who behold His sign know the time of His appearing draws near. The wise shall understand (Daniel 12:10). Like the Magi, we shall rejoice with great joy and follow it over a lonely, hazardous way, through hardship, heartaches and delays until at last, we too shall come to a “house” a greater house built of “living stones” and to a “child” ---the man child, and a “mother” ---the woman clothed with the sun (Revelation 12).
At the time of the incarnation, two amazing and unique signs were given by God, whereby all men might know that Jesus is truly the Son of God.
Likewise, at the time of His Second Coming---His multiple incarnation in His many-membered body---two equally amazing and unique signs are to be given by God, according to the Scriptures.
Many of the Lord’s people do not know what these signs are; but His Spirit taught, Spirit-led people are being shown as we too see through a glass darkly.
There were two outstanding signs of Jesus’ first coming. The bible is the perfect blueprint of God’s plan. To Isaiah was entrusted the two miraculous signs: The first---a virgin mother! The LORD himself shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel. The second---a Divine Child! For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
There were many other signs which surrounded the birth of Jesus, but because of time, I will focus on the Virgin Birth and the Divine Son. Upon these two “signs’ rests the structure of our Christian faith. To doubt them is to miss the way into the new birth and the Kingdom of God.
Just as these two signs if Jesus’ birth were perfectly fulfilled and made manifest, so shall the signs of His second advent appear in heaven and upon earth, and, in turn, shall have their perfect fulfillment to the glory of God the Father. Some with anointed eyes have beheld “previews” of these portents, and have been given foretastes of their glory.
It is true the many, many signs of the end of the age around us, we center our attention upon that two which are vital to our faith, namely, THE SUN-CLOTHED WOMAN AND THE MAN CHILD.
Rev. 12: 1-5: Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth. And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
We are not confused by anyone who claims to be “the woman” or “the man child,” nor do we look for these figures in individuals. A careful, prayerful search of the Scriptures will convince us “the woman” and “the man child” are symbolical rather than literal figures, and they are composite rather than individual. The corn of wheat that fell into the earth and died is going to be raised in multiple form. The one little virgin-bride and mother will appear as a great company---The Bride of Christ/the Church, in whom shall be formed the many sons of God. Two companies, yet one; one, yet two. In this, the duality of the nature of Christ is revealed---Son-Bride, Father-Mother, all in all! Then shall we see and fully understand.
(Sunday morning (4/14/19) the Holy Spirit arrested me when I was preaching on the coming crucifixion of Jesus in John’s gospel about the grain of wheat falling into the ground and dying.
12: 23-24: Then Jesus replied, “The time has now come for the Son of Man to be glorified. In all truth I tell you; a grain of wheat will forever remain a grain of wheat unless it falls into the ground and dies. But if it does then it will bring forth a harvest of many more grains.”
The Holy Spirit was directing me to speak to the people about not only the death of the carnal soul; but we will experience the “death of a vision.” It is not until the seed of that vision falls into the ground and dies that it will bring forth a harvest.
Then when I was praying for people, I was prophesying to them about those things in their life which had died, would now bring forth a harvest.
Do I understand these matters and manifest presence of the LORD? No I do not; but I know it is the LORD, and I preach and prophesy by faith in what I see and hear.)
We see that Jesus is going to appear to His own, in His own and finally with His own---in great glory and power. And we know that when he shall appear, that shall we appear with Him in glory. And we shall be called, the sons of God.
