What is our mindset? Is it set or being renewed daily?

• As we journey through our lives God teaches us through different examples. One of these was through our children.

During our time In New Delhi, India our children were initially preschool. One particular day they were very quiet, which mostly causes a parent to Think they are up to no good. I went looking around the house for them and came upon them playing in the dirt near the generator room. They did not see me. Their game was Joshua lying flat on his back on the dusty dirt with his t-shirt rolled up to under his arms and Sarah pouring dust in a small pile onto his belly. It was all dust so nothing much stayed except the dust cloud that this activity produced.

Dirt in India was known to have bacteria of different sorts and could cause disease, particularly foreigners. So this thought flashed through my mind along with care for our young children. And the Lord spoke: “They are innocently playing and have no thought of danger, bacteria, or disease. They are also not doing anything disobedient. You can say something about the negative aspect to their game in the dirt and stop them or you can leave them alone. They are not mindful of what you know or think about this situation.” I turned from my post and went back to my activity.

I do not remember being concerned about any negative repercussions to their wellbeing, and they suffered no ill effects.

My potential words and thoughts about this situation could have cursed the situation and brought the relevant consequences. But I left it in God’s wise hands – they were childlike, innocent, and not being disobedient.

“Words really do cause pain. Researchers have shown that hurt feelings from words affect the same area in the brain – the cingulate gyrus – as a broken bone or physical injury.” Dr Caroline Leaf

My knowledge, thoughts, and words from this experience in mine and our children’s lives were a lesson God taught me that day, have been a constant reminder in my life.

Jesus taught through examples and one of those examples was children:

Matthew 18:1-5 NKJV

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.

Matthew 19:14

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

• Jesus’ mind is not focused on greatness. He wants us to have His mind, the mind of Christ.

Matthew 4:17 NKJV From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, (change your mindset) for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

The mind of our Lord is always drawing us toward Himself and into His presence and into His Kingdom. His thoughts towards us are thoughts of peace and not evil and they are so great in number they are more than the grains of sand. His words are lifegiving kingdom words. His stories or parables are Kingdom pictures. His actions are kingdom actions and demonstrations. His teachings are kingdom words.

Philippians 2:1 NKJV

Unity Through Humility

2 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

The Humbled and Exalted Christ

5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

• The mind of the Lord is Kingdom of heaven.

• The mind of the Lord is anointing – Himself - living, moving, and having His being in His people.

• The mind of the Lord is that “it is time for the Head of the Church to manifest Himself, to unveil Himself, to form Himself in us as a separated people His Body – the unified, many membered Messiah on earth endued from on high with corporate anointing.” (K. Varner - Corporate Anointing). •

“Christ is more than an individual. The Father, through the outpouring of the Holy Ghost (the Spirit of the Son), has multiplied His Son Jesus into a many membered Man.” (K. Varner - Corporate Anointing).

• We are one Body, the Body of Christ.

Jesus is the living breathing example of the Kingdom of Heaven, He spoke His mind about His Kingdom purpose and the way His Body was intended to function for the good and the blessing of all and to the glory of God. He declared the fulfillment of that purpose as prophesied by Isaiah (Isaiah 61:1-3).

Luke 4:17-21 NKJV

Jesus Rejected at Nazareth

17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: 18 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

• We are as Christ is with Him in us – anointed to

o Preach the Gospel to the poor. o Heal the brokenhearted.'

o Proclaim liberty to the captives and set at liberty the oppressed.

o Recovery of sight to the blind, reveal Jesus

o And glorify God by proclaiming the acceptable year of the Lord.

Today is again today the Scripture is fulfilled in our hearing!

• The mind of the Lord is one of completeness and wholeness.

He is manifest in everything and all of creation is knit together and held together by His words. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, every cell designed to live in perfect harmony with every cell God formed it to be in right relationship with. We are His Body knit together by His words - REMEMBER. This is My Body broken for you My blood shed for you, and whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup do this in REMEMBRANCE of Me. His purpose was kingdom purpose and business. His Kingdom is one of sons and daughters, trusting Him, living in unity and following His example as servant leaders.

His prayers are kingdom prayers.

Matthew 6:9-13 NKJV

9 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.

13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

2 Corinthians 10:3-7 NKJV

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

• We must repent of our mindset and recognize that we His people have the mind of Christ.

Let us recognize the thoughts, arguments high things that exalt itself against the knowledge of God and bring them into captivity to the obedience of the mind of Christ, the mind of an anointed one, living in Christ, reflecting His image.

• In the mind of Christ. we are warriors and we overcome.

Romans 12:1-2 NKJV

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

As we meditate on God’s Word – Jesus - and yield to His thoughts, our minds are renewed. We see things through His eyes, the end from the beginning, on earth as it is in heaven. We yield to His wisdom and words. Our lives take on His image. His Church is perfected and made whole, knit together by His word.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Philippians 2:5 NKJV

5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
