(11 Cor. 3: 13-18) “But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.  Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.  Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.  But we all with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord”.

THE THREE ENTRANCES INTO THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES

(11 Peter 1:11)

For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

THE THREE ENTRANCES INTO THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES:

  1. The Gate into the Outer Court.
  2.  The Door into the Holy Place.
  3.  The Vail into the Holy of Holies.

I THE GATE INTO THE OUTER COURT:

The first entrance into the Outer Court was from the East side.  It’s measurements were 20 cu. (30 ft) wide and 5 cu. (7-1/2 ft.) high; there was 15 cu. of linen fence on either side of the gate on the east side.

TYPOLOGY:

The only entrance into the courts of the Lord is the Lord Jesus Christ. (Jn. 14:6; Acts. 4:12).  Everyone had to come the same way; man could enter; but only God’s way (Eph. 2: 11-18).  The east side was the side of the rising of the Sun – the Israelites entered in LIGHT (Num. 2:3); this Light would also reveal the truths in connection with the linen and the various colors of the gate.

It was a wide gate – a universal gate for “whosoever will” (1 Tim. 2:4); this emphasizes the ‘BREADTH’ of Eph. 3:18- an invitation to the whole world; this Gate kept out the one who refused to enter and kept in the one who chose to enter; the number 5 stresses the GRACE extended through this Gate; the number 15 (REST) on either side of the Gate reveals the REST  offered to those who choose to enter (Mt. 11:28-30).

The entrance into the Courts of the Lord is not complicated; this Gate can accommodate everyone and anyone who desires to come; the Lord Jesus Christ as made a way for all men. (Jn. 3:16)

There were four pillars of brass set in brass sockets; these pillars were capped in silver and connected by silver fillets or connecting rods; the gate hung from silver hooks connected to the pillars.  The four pillars - the world-wide availability of the gate or the Four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  There were also four women in the genealogy of Christ (Mt. 1:3, 5, 6).  It is the church that extends an invitation through this Gate. (1 Tim 3:5; Rev. 3:12); the BRASS emphasizes that sin has been judged so that we can enter or the truth can stand strong in His redemption; the Silver speaks of Christ’s Redemption offered in this Gate; the sockets and caps – Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the author and Finisher of our faith (Rev. 22:13; the silver hooks – everything hangs on Christ’s Blood;  Rods-His redemption is the unifying factor of the four gospels (pillars)

This Gate was a Beautiful Gate – it attracted people (Song 5:16); It was also a Distinctive Gate for one could not mistake it for the rest of the wall of linen fence.  There can be no mistaking that the Scriptures reveal but one way into the courts of the Lord, even Jesus Christ.

The gate was made of needlework of fine twined linen and the colors of blue, purple, and scarlet.   This inwrought work and colors show the life of Christ was inwrought, in worked, outworked, and indwelt by the Spirit of God, the work of the Holy Spirit (Col. 1:19; 2:9; Jn. 3:34).

  1. The Outer Gate leads to the Brazen Altar and the forgiveness of sins at the Cross through the shedding of His blood – for all Israel.
  2. The Outer court is the realm of the New Birth (Jn. 3:1-8).
  3. It is the Feast of Passover – The Lamb of God.
  4. It is the realm of common salvation (Jude 3).
  5. It is the pattern Son Jesus at Birth (Lk. 2:7).
  6. It is the realm of Little Children (1 Jn. 2:12).
  7. It is pictured by Israel coming out of Egypt (deliverance).
  8. It is the realm of the 30-fold Christian. (Mt. 13:23).
  9. It is the elementary realm of Thanksgiving for gifts and mercies.
  10. It is the realm of natural light (sun).
  11. It is the realm of the Good Will of God (Rom. 12:2).
  12. It is the dust of Abraham’s seed (Gen. 13:16).
  13. It is the realm of the foolish virgins of Mt. 25.
  14. It is pictured in the brass vessels of Ezra 1:10.
  15. It is pictured in the Gleans of the Harvest.
  16. It is the realm of the first sealing – conversion and water baptism (Ex. 28:21; Mt. 15:19; Rom 4:11)
  17. It is the realm of the first anointing – kill a bear, lion, giant (1Sa. 16).
  18. It is the realm of the First Baptism of the Sea – escape from Egypt; water baptism (I Cor. 10:2)
  19. It is the realm of the First Heaven (Eph. 1:3)
  20. It is the first level of Noah’s Ark, and Solomon’s and Ezekiel’s Temples.

II THE DOOR INTO THE HOLY PLACE (Ex. 16:36-37; 36: 37-38)

This was the only entrance into the Holy Place.  This speaks of Christ the Door (Jn. 10:7-9).  The measurements to the Holy Place were 10 x 10 x 20 = 2000 cubits; speak of the 2000-year church age- Jesus is the only entrance into the sheep-fold of His church and all priestly ministry is done through Him.

The number 10 reveals the responsibility of those born again in the realm of the Outer Court to be filled with the Holy ghost (Acts. 2:4); Eph. 5:17-18) and then develop a spiritual ministry in the many-membered Body of  Christ (Eph. 4:16); The Door was a High Door – this emphasizes the “Height” of Eph 3:18 and shows a higher plane of the Christian walk and a greater dimension of the Spirit as well as a more exalted view of the glorified Christ; the Door was half as wide as the Gate – it was a narrow door that reveals more discipline in the walk as priests (! Pet. 2: 1-10) for it was not to be for all Israel as was the Gate (Lk. 13:24; Mt. 7:13-14).

The Church is the place of Priestly ministry, for we are made Kings and Priests unto God (Rev. 1:6); as noted before in the study of the Boards of the building, God desires to raise up in the earth a “kingdom of priests” (Ex. 19:6) through His Church; He wants a many-membered body of saints to be joints of spiritual ministry through the gifts of the Holy Ghost (! Cor. 12: 8-10), 12-26); this end-time church has access as an army of King-Priests to offer up spiritual sacrifices, in a spiritual priesthood, in a spiritual house containing the many truths of the Golden Candlestick, Table of Shewbread, and Altar of Incense.

The number five can refer to many things: the five-fold ministry of Eph. 4:11; the five-fold name of Christ in Is. 9:6; the five writers of the epistles of the N.T. ( Peter, James, John, Jude, and Paul); that all the blessings and truths of this second realm come through the Grace of God (Jn. 1:17)  the wood (humanity) and gold (divinity) again reveal the two natures of Christ, the Head and the Body;  the brass sockets – speaks of the outer court.  The outer court can also be likened to the 1500-year dispensation of the Law – thus, Christ stands at the end of the Law (brass) and is the Door into the Church and the present dispensation of the Holy Spirit (gold); this could also be said of the Pillar Ministries of the early church (Gal. 2:9) who saw the closing of one age and the dawn of another new age; the gold caps (crowns) show the crowning of Christ the Head and Body (Heb. 2:9-10); Golden Hooks – everything mentioned in connection with the Door and the Holy Place hangs on the Divinity of Christ. (Jn. 1:1-18)

This Door was a beautiful door (Song 5:16).  The word for “needlework” in Ex. 26:36 means “The work of the embroiderer” (the Holy Spirit).

  1. The Tabernacle Door leads to the Sanctuary and the various priestly ministries of the Candlestick, Table, and Altar – for the Priest.
  2. The Holy Place is the realm of the Spirit-Filled church and the Holy Ghost Baptism of Acts 2.
  3. It is the Feast of Pentecost – first fruits (Rom 8:23)
  4. It is the realm of Great Salvation (Heb. 2:3-4).
  5. It is the pattern Son Jesus in the temple (Lk. 2:40)
  6. It is the realm of Young Men (1 Jn. 2:13).
  7. It is pictured by Israel moving in the wilderness (discipline).
  8. It is the realm of the 60-fold Christian.
  9. It is the realm of deep appreciation of praise
  10. It is the realm of artificial light (Candlestick)
  11. It is the realm of the Acceptable Will of God.
  12. It is the sand of abraham's seed.
  13. It is the realm of the wise virgins.
  14. It is pictured in the bulk of the Harvest.
  15. It is pictured in the silver vessels of Ezra 1:10.
  16. It is the realm of the second sealing - Holy Ghost Baptims.
  17. It is the realm of the second anointing - Judah means praise.
  18. It is the realm of the second bapatism in the cloud - divine leadership.
  19. It is the realm of the second heaven.
  20. It is the second level of Noah's ark, and Solomon's and Ezekiel's Temples.

III THE VEIL INTO THE HOLY OF HOLIES:

In Christ every vail is abolished, and we see him face to face. (1 Cor. 13:12)

The Veil was rent when Christ died.  It was rent by God and not by man.  God smote his son.  The rent vail was 17-1/2 feet high (no human hand could reach it).  It was 4 inches thick and required 60 men to handle it.  It was rent in the midst which gave direct access; no more all of partition.  It was rent completely.  Completeness of christ's sacrifice, the broken body of Jesus at Calvary -

 IT IS FINISHED!!!!
