NO APPLAUSE

He died alone. No one truly understood the cause. There was not one to give him grateful praise,
No glory, no applause.
Did God expect Anyone to recognize his valiant Son? Not one soul who saw him die could truly see
The battle fought, the victory won.
Was there a friend? Was there anyone who stood up in the crowd? To honor him there was not one voice raised,
No one hailed him, no one bowed.
He was accused. They mocked him and they spat upon his face, “If he’s the Christ then let him save himself!”
Jesus died, in disgrace.
No gratitude, No thanks, nor was there any pity.
There was no sign of great appreciation
In Jerusalem, the holy city.
No sound of trumpets, There was no heavenly host of angels singing, Only ridicule and cruel jesting
Mocking mouths, curses ringing.
What did he gain? If not for glory then why did he die? We were the joy his Father set before him
The sin of man, to crucify
And what of those Who have come to know that He is Lord? Are we to seek to gain the praise of men?
Shall man’s applause.... be our reward?
God forbid! For the servant shall not be above his master. And as surely as we gain the world’s esteem,
Pride shall rise....before disaster.
So let us bow In true humility before the God of grace. In due time we shall receive the Lord’s applause
When we see Him in His glory ….face to face
