SCORN A CURSE

SCORN A CURSE

It was 1989, and I was in a spiritual battle.  The spirit that was trying to make a victim of me was the strong man of “Scorn”.  The Lord spoke to me, “Carolyn, scorn is a curse and is surrounded by walls of hostility and contempt.”

While in Washington, D.C. recently, I discerned this strong man of Scorn has a strong hold over the leadership of this nation as well as the media.  Also, I discerned the Canaanite Curse is another stronghold.  I will follow-up this teaching with the teaching on the Canaanite Curse.

Proverbs 3:33-34: “The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked, but he blesses the habitation of the just.  Surely He scorns the scorners; but he gives grace unto the lowly.  The wise shall inherit glory; but shame shall be the promotion of fools.”

Walls are constructed by satan to protect demonic strongholds of demonic activity.  The Lord gave me the instructions to take down the wall of contempt and hostility by the same example He gave to us with the Wall of Jericho.  Speak to the wall seven times saying, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth I command the wall of contempt and hostility to fall.”

After taking down the wall, then we are able to appropriate by our Faith, the Holy Spirit and the Blood of Jesus the power from the Cross to break the curse of scorn.  This is true of every curse that is put upon us.

Galatians 3:13-14:  “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written, cursed is every one that hangs on a tree.)  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through Faith.”   It is not automatic when we are saved.  There must be an appropriation of the “blood” the Holy Spirit and Faith.

Once the curse of scorn has been broken, then we are able to bind up the spirits that attach themselves to this strongman.

  1. Churlish-  Isa. 32:7:  The instruments and methods of the churl are evil; he devises wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speak right.”  Those spirits under Churlishness are rudeness, mean spirited, surly, miserly, ill-bred, stiff necked, stubborn, trouble-maker, impudent, hardened, and obstinate.
  2. Chaldean - i.e. Babylonian:  Hab. 1: 5-11:  For, lo I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land to possess the dwelling places that are not theirs.  They are terrible and dreadful their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.  Their horses also are swifter than the leopards and are fiercer than the evening wolves; and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hastens to eat.”
  3. Haman – Esther 3:5-6:  When Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath; and he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shown him the people of Mordecai; wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus even the people of Mordecai.  The spirit of murder also is connected to the strongman of scorn.
  4. Scorpions of the earth – Ez. 2:6: “Son of man do not be afraid of them neither be afraid of their  words, though briars and thorns be with you, and you do dwell among scorpions; be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed of their looks though they be a rebellious house.”

Rev. 9:1-3:  And he opened the bottomless pit, and there arose a smoke out of             the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by     reason of the smoke of the pit.  And there came out of the smote locusts upon the earth; and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.”

Rev. 9:10:  And they had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails; and their power was to hurt men five months.”

Luke 10:19:  “Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
