THE CANAANITE CURSE

THE CANAANITE CURSE

Given to Pastor Carolyn Sissom in 1990 by the Holy Spirit

Posted May 18, 2011

On May 4, 2011, Sandra Farley and I were in the basement of the Cannon Office Building of the House of Representatives of the United States of America in Washington, D.C.  We were praying for the nation.  Sandra spoke up that she felt the Homosexual spirit very strong in the building.  I had accidentally (I thought) thrown into my briefcase a teaching on the Canaanite Curse.

The Canaanite Curse is protected by walls of pain and denial, built on shame,  pride, abuse and fear.  We break down that wall of pain by speaking to the wall seven times, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I speak to the wall of pain and denial and command you to come down.”

After the wall of pain is down, then the Holy Spirit of Truth can be released to do His work.  Until the walls come down, those people in pain and denial will not receive the truth.

Then through prayer, Faith, the Blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, we appropriate the work of the Cross and break the Canaanite Curse.  (Gal. 3: 13-14)

Thirteen (13) sins i.e. demon spirits of the Canaanite Curse:

(Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible)

  1. Homosexuality – Gen. 13: 13; 19; Lev. 18:22 “You shall not lie with a man as with a woman, it is an abomination.”
  2. Incest – Lev. 18: 6-30 “None of you shall approach anyone close of kin to him to have sexual relations.  I am the Lord.  The nakedness of your father … nakedness of your mother, you shall not uncover; she is your mother, you shall not have intercourse with her.  The nakedness of your father’s wife, you shall not uncover, it is your father’s nakedness.  You shall not have intercourse with or uncover the nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father or of your mother, whether born at home or born abroad. The nakedness of your son’s daughter or of you daughter’s daughter…mother’s sister…mother’s near kinsmen…father’s brother…brother’s wife…daughter-in-law…near kinswoman…it is wickedness.
  3. Inordinate Affection – Lev. 18: 19-30
  4. Adultery – Lev. 18: 20-30
  5. Idolatry – Lev. 18: 21-30
  6. Beastality – Lev. 18: 23-30
  7. Witchcraft – Lev. 20:6 – “And the soul that turns after such as have familiar spirits, and after  wizards, to go a-whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.”
  8. Profanity – Lev. 18
  9. Whoredom – Lev. 20
  10. Dishonor to parents – Lev. 20
  11. Murder – Deut. 12:31
  12. Stealing – Lev. 19
  13. Lying – Lev. 19:11

If I am doing deliverance on individuals, I ask them to repent of all of these sins whether they have committed them or not because they all run together under the Canaanite Curse.   We should never deliver someone who we are not willing to help them walk-out their deliverance.  They will not be strong enough to resist satan.

If I am praying over powers and principalities, then I bind up the spirits.  Unfortunately they only stay bound for a short time.  However, we can continue to bind them giving the victims time to become strong enough spiritually to “resist satan and he will flee from them.”

Unbeknownest to Sandra and me, as we were praying in the basement, Sara was in hand-to-hand combat with a spirit of witchcraft on the first floor.

There is no defeat in Jesus.  We can’t go under for going over.

In spiritual warfare, Submission is your attitude.

Obedience is your conduct.

Hope is the anchor for the soul.

Faith – “Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Love – “If we are not ministering in love, we have no ministry in Christ.

Dependence and Expectancy should be our approach to Jesus.

Enjoyment of Life is a responsibility ( Ec. 11: 9-10).

Liberty – Courage to risk, the endurance to loose, and learn to accept rejection.

Ethics express our gratitude to God for His Grace.

Courage – “The rash man acts without fear, the brave man in spite of it”. (author unknown)

Prayer “moves the hands of God”.

Conduct is having the character of God

Our security & sufficiency must be in Christ Jesus.

Faithfulness – God did not call us to be popular.  He called us to be faithful.

Joy is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Jesus in the midst of trouble.

Wisdom, Knowledge & Understanding should be the furnishings of our spiritual house.

As a post script, I want to say that people who go through deliverance from the Canaanite curse should go through Christian counseling for healing.  The spirits may tear out over a few days or even weeks.  There may be grief and anger over the wasted years and loss of quality life.

When delivered, people can choose a better way to live.  They can make peace with God, themselves and others.  They can also accept and make peace with their past and have a forgiving heart knowing their sins have been forgiven.

The devil will not give up easily.  He usually returns three times to test the deliverance.
