ELAM--IRAN--THE LORS

THE DAY OF THE LORD

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

July 22, 2012, the Year of Our Lord

Last weekend our church faithfully declared The Acceptable Year of Our Lord, His perpetual Jubilee to His redeemed of rest, reversal, release, remission, refreshing, reunion, peace, protection and plenty.

Within 36-hours of our prophetic declaration of Jubilee, I received a message from the Lord in a dream. July 18, 2012.  I saw a map of the nation of Turkey and heard, “They will invade the borders of Turkey”.  I saw soldiers and machinery of war.  Then I saw written out in the dream, “Carolyn preach on the Lors.”

The Acceptable Year of the Lord is also “the day of vengeance of our God”.  In Luke 4: 18-19, Jesus stopped reading at Isaiah 61: 2a.

The prophets are presently prophesying both Jubilee and “the day of vengeance of our God.”  At Jubilee 2012, we prophesied of the bells ringing in the United Kingdom as a sign of the winds, rain, and floods of the Holy Spirit (Arthur Burt).  John Dean is prophesying the Word of the Lord of “a revival fire” coming out of the streets of the United Kingdom.  Roger Teale exhorted us to “know the voice” and “hear the voice” in these days.  That “voice” is the voice of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Day of the Lord throughout scripture is prophesied both of the Glory of the Zion of God and the judgment of the nations (or the wicked).

We can consider that “the day of vengeance” in Isaiah 61, points to the time of Jesus’ Second Advent and his prophecies in Matthew 24.  We can also equally consider that Jesus fulfilled the rest of chapter 61 for the redeemed with his death, burial and resurrection.  Jesus has overcome sin and Satan at the Cross through the power of His blood.  However, this is only true for those who have received Jesus as their Savior and received His righteousness.

On July 20, 2012, the Shi’a-Syrian rebels secured the Syria/Turkey borders.  The war in Syria has been taken to the borders of Turkey.  We have an air force base near the Syrian border.  The name of the air force base is Incirlik and means “fig tree grove”.

Coincidentally, I preached on “The Fig Tree”, July 8, 2012, The Year of Our Lord.

With our approach to Jubilee 2012, I primarily focused the message of God’s covenantal blessing, prosperity and security for His covenant people using the metaphor of the fig tree.

However, the fig tree is also used figuratively of the end-times in Isaiah 34; Mt. 24:32 and Rev. 6:13:

Isaiah 34: 1-10:  Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, you people; let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it…for the indignation of the Lord is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies…(Vs. 4) All the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and  the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll; and their host shall fall down, as the leaf falls from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

(This could possibly be figurative of air planes, drones and missiles coming out of the sky from “The Fig Tree” airbase in Turkey.)

(Vs.8)  “For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, and the year of recompenses for the controversy of Zion.  And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.  It shall not be quenched night or day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever; from generation to generation it shall lay waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.”

This scripture like Isaiah 61 describes the Day of Jehovah’s vengeance, and the year of Jubilee!!!!

Matthew 24: 31-33:  And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.  Now learn a parable of the fig tree; when his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near; so likewise you, when you shall see all these things,  know that it is near, even at the door.”

Revelation 6:12-13:  “When he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake (Gk. seismos)…And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casts her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.”

This is the same shaking the disciples experienced when the tempest arose in the sea and they were on the ship.  Jesus was sleeping while the waves covered the ship and the shore line quivered.   Jesus spoke and said, “Why are you afraid, o ye of little faith"?

Other than in Rev. 6:12, the word “seismos” is used only two other times:

  1. At Jesus’ death when Calvary shook (Mt. 27: 51-54).
  2. At Jesus’ resurrection when the graveyard shook from a great “seismos”.

The blowing of the four winds is an “anemos” (a violent agitation and stream of air; the four cardinal winds; hence four corners of the earth).  In Revelation 6: 12-13, we have the combination of a “seismos” and “anemos”.  A great earthquake is a recurrent sign of divine visitation in the Bible.

Jesus always calls His elect to courage and faith.  Jesus spoke unto them saying, be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.”  This is the voice of the Lord.  Roger Teale called us to hear Jesus’ voice.  For the elect, the voice will always be a call to courage and faith.

Now we come to the second part of the dream, “Carolyn teach on the Lors”.

Lors is a French word that means, “at the time of”.

However, due to the context of the dream being set in the Middle East, I believe it has to do with the Lors/Lurs of Iran.  This is a Persian tribal group living mainly in south-western Iran.  Their population is estimated at above four million.  Iran is made up of provinces.  One of the primary provinces is Bushehr.  This is the site of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant being built in co-operation with Russia.  The area of Elam is also the center of Iranian oil.

When I sent out my dream to the prophets, Barry Battelstein replied.  “Two years ago, the Holy Spirit led me and Linda to ask the question, “Where is Bushehr, where the Iranian nuclear plant is located in the ancient Iranian province of Elam?”

Elam was the son of Shem and grandson of Noah.  King Cyrus, Darius, and Alexander the Great each had a palace in Elam.  The dominate religion of the Lors is Shi’a Islam.  This is the same as the Assad regime.  The rebels are Sunni Islamic.

In Daniel’s vision of the ram and goat in 8:2, he was in Elam:  “I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision and I was by the river of Ulai.”

Daniel 8:16: “And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.”

The Ulai River is now Karkheh (Gihon) and one of the four rivers of Eden/Paradise.  It flows along the Iran/Iraq border.

Jeremiah, chapter 49, is Jeremiah’s word of the judgment of the nine nations of Ammon, Edom, Damascus (Syria) Kedar, Hazor and Elam.

Jeremiah 49: 35-39: “Thus says the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.  And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of Heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.  For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life; and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, says the Lord; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them; And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from there the king and the princes, says the Lord.  But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, says the Lord.”

What does all of this mean in view of the present Middle East conflicts?  I only know the Lord spoke to me to preach on the Lors.  Then in confirmation of the dream and the word, “They have invaded Turkey’s borders”.  I am only a messenger.

For the redeemed, the Day of the Lord is a day of blessing, peace, provision and protection.  The Day of the Lord is used by the prophets to refer to any specific period of time in which the God of Israel intervenes in human affairs to save and judge.

In some prophetic texts “The Day of the Lord’ refers to an event so cataclysmic that it ends an age of the world.  In the New Testament the Day of the Lord refers to God’s judging action when Christ returns at the end of the age.

In the Gospels there are 125 Christ-issued imperatives.  Of these 21 urge us to “not be afraid” or “not fear” or “have courage” or “take heart” or “be of good cheer”.  Faith is the opposite of fear.

Mt. 10:31:  Fear not, you are of more value than many sparrows.”

Mt. 9:2: “Son be of good cheer”

Mt. 6:25:I tell you not to worry about everyday life-whether you have enough(NLT)

Luke 8:50: “Fear not; believe only, and she shall be made whole.”

Mt. 14:27:Be of good cheer; it is I, be not afraid.”

Mt. 10:28:Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul;”

Lk. 12:32: “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

Jn. 14: 1, 3:  Don’t let your hearts be troubled.  You believe in God, believe also in me…If go and prepare a place for you.  I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

Jn. 14:27:  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Mt. 24:6: “You shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you be not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”

Luke 24:38: “Why are you troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts?”

Because this message burned within me, I have preached it.  I have no other message to preach except the ones that are given to me by the Lord.  Do I understand the message? No!  But some how I don’t think Daniel, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah and the other prophets understood what they were saying either.  They simply delivered the message.

Tonight I will preach “We are free from the law of sin and death”. (Romans 6 & 7).

Today we prayed for the families of the victims of horrific mass murder in Colorado. We also prayed for the wounded and their families.

Isaiah 61:2b-3a:  To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord…to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.”
