IN THAT DAY CONFERENCE-2013

‘IN THAT DAY”

Sunday, July 7, 2013, the Year of Our Lord

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

We are fast approaching the days of our annual conference, July 26-28th.   This is a prophetic conference.  Each year the Lord calls the conference by name and it is always a challenge and time of growing to release the Kingdom assignment given to us by the Lord for our church fellowship.

This year is no different.  Clearly I heard in the Spirit, “In That Day”.  This is a prophetic term used repeatedly throughout the Old Testament by the prophets to describe a future day when the Lord will move sovereignly by visitation and magnificent power in both judgment and blessing in the earth.

It is used for a total of 405 times in both testaments with 112 exact phrases.

In the New Testament, the apostle speaks of all future prophetic days as “the day of Christ”; and “the day of Jesus Christ”; and In That Day referring to the Second Coming and/or visitation.  It is my persuasion “In That Day” also refers to the abiding presence (Parousia) of the Father and Son by the Holy Spirit.

John 14: 19-21: “Yet a little while, and the world will see Me no more; but you see Me; because I live, you shall live also.  At that day you shall know that I am in My Father and you in me, and I in you.  He that has My commandments and keeps them he it is that loves Me; and he that love same shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him.”

(“World” here is “Kosmos” – the ungodly multitudes, the whole mass of men alienated from God and therefore hostile to the cause of Christ; world affairs, goods, riches, advantages, pleasures, etc. that do not reverence the Lord and His Word.)

In this church fellowship, we are blessed and it is not a boast, but a fact, with the manifest Presence of the Lord in every service.  This is the “Parousia” promised to the saints “In That Day” by the Old Testament prophets, by Jesus, and by the Apostles.

The Lord spoke to me in the early years of the church that He wanted a church like the one at Philippi.

Philippians 1: 9-11:  This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; that you may approve things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offence until the day of Christ; Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”

However, this is not the entire story.

There is a day of visitation and a day when it will be the last day.

John 6:40: “This is the will of Him that sent Me that every one which sees the Son, and believes on Him, may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

John 6:44:  No man can come to Me, except the Father which has sent Me draw him; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

The Lord has also called our church to a study of Isaiah.  When I say our church, he called me to teach Isaiah, to whom would I teach it except to the church.

The New Testament says that Isaiah ‘saw the glory of Christ and spoke of him” (John 12:41).

The phrase “In That Day” is used by Isaiah 44 times.  It is used to prophesy the judgment of the nations in Isaiah’s day, but it also reads like the front page of the newspaper for the year 2013 as we watch the Lord ride on His swift cloud across the Middle East.  “The Day of the Lord” is used three times and speaks of the end of Man’s day.

He prophesies “That Day” of the birth of Jesus, His ministry; His death, resurrection; the glory of the everlasting gospel; and the gospel church.   He prophesies that through judgment, the Holy One of Israel brings salvation, righteousness, comfort; and only through the Messiah will salvation come to all the nations.

The government of the Kingdom of God is revealed in Isaiah in the principles of Holiness, Righteousness and Justice.  Jesus Christ is seen in His Messianic Glory as the Holy One of Israel, our Salvation, Our Righteousness, and our comfort.  All judgment has been committed to Him.

John 5: 31-23:  The Father raises up the dead, and makes them alive, even so the Son makes alive whom He will for the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son; that all men should honor the Son, even as they honor they Father.  He that honors not the Son does not honor the Father who has sent Him.”

To Isaiah’s grief, no matter how much he preached and called the nation back to God, they kept back-sliding, worshipping idols, and drifting away from God. With judgment imminent, the remnant will be gathered, “In That Day”.  Then will come the lifting up of the ensign unto all nations.

In Isaiah 12:1-6, we have the Remnant’s Song of Redemption.  I believe our remnant church can identify with this as we approach the conference, In that Day, in view of the spiritual judgments which are on this nation.

“In that day, you shall say, O Lord, I will praise You; though You were angry with me.  Your anger is turned away; and You comforted me.  Behold. God is my salvation, I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song.  He also is become my salvation.

This is the Believer’s song of redemption and song of Faith.  This is a song for those who are in the Holy of Holies, the realm of no anger of the Lord.  The comfort and grace from the mercy seat is there in the Holiest of all.   This is past the golden altar.

3-6:  Therefore with joy shall you draw water out of the wells of salvation.  In that day you shall say, Praise the Lord, call upon His name, declare His doings among the people, make mention that His name is exalted.  Sing to the Lord; for He has done excellent things; that is known in all the earth.  Cry out and shout, you inhabitant of Zion; for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of you.”

The civil war from within, the duality and all its frustrations and futility is left behind.  The wells of salvation is from the Fountain of life and the saints in whom is a container and a dispenser of the New Life of the New Covenant.

In His Presence (Parousia), He is our praise, our song and our strength.  We are becoming His praise, His song and His strength.  Christ in us is the Hope of Glory, us in him is the Glory.

These great and glorious prophecies in Isaiah are being fulfilled in this day!

How exciting that we are alive and watching as the Lord unfolds the Great Day of the Lord before our eyes.
