NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER - 2014

National Day of Prayer-2014

“One Voice United in Prayer”

Sunday, May 4, 2014, the Year of Our Lord

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

We returned Friday from the National Day of Prayer observance in Washington, D.C. as guests of Sara Ballenger of the Capitol Hill Prayer Group and the Cannon Prayer Watch.  The storms were a manifestation of the warfare surrounding this event.  We had attacks before we left and backlash on our return.   Dr. Dobson boldly laid down the gauntlet of an open challenge between the standards and ways of the King of the Kingdom of God and the ruler of wickedness in the kingdoms of the world.

Dr. Dobson’s remarks identifying President Obama as “the abortion president” set up a media fire-storm.  Rep. Janice Hahn openly opposed him and walked out of the gathering.

This event is a powerful and a great blessing to attend.  This year there were over 47,000 gatherings of prayer across the United States as well as multiple nations were praying for our nation.  At the Wednesday night dinner, we were blessed to hear Sandi Patti in concert.  Ann Graham Lotz spoke at the Women’s Prayer Breakfast on Wed. morning, the prayer reception on Wed. evening and  was the key note speaker at the National Day of Prayer.

A Word of Wisdom was given to me Thursday Morning at 8:00 a.m. prayer at the Cannon Prayer Watch:

Back up to Wednesday evening at the Prayer Reception and remarks given by David Butts, Chairman of National Day of Prayer.

Rev. Butts said “There are three areas of power: (1) Financial power; (2) Political Power; (3) Spiritual Power.

His words resonated with me!

All of my life I have “snubbed” or could I say remained “aloof” to (1) Financial power and (2) Political power because I know that Jesus has been given all power and authority in Heaven and earth and I went to the “top” seeking Him to whom had all power and authority.  This and seeking after the Holy Spirit of Truth” has been my life thrust.

I even awoke on Thursday morning pondering the wisdom spoken by Rev. Butts from the world’s perspective.

However, when we were in prayer, a revelation and Word of Wisdom/Knowledge came to me during prayer.

“In the coming days of Harvest, the Lord God of Heaven and Earth to whom has been given all power, is sovereignly going to marry (1) Spiritual power; (2) Economic Power; and (3) Political power;  in and under the Kingdom of God Governmental Power.  This union will be brought together without the leaven of the Pharisees, religious spirits, political spirits (Jezebel/Ahab), vain glory, or the greed of mammon.  The thrust of this Kingdom governmental authority will be militant and bold yet peaceful as the Army of God spear-heads a great awakening in this nation as the deaf ears and blind eyes are opened.”

Dr. James and Shirley Dobson have been faithful and relentless to hold up the standard to mobilize prayer in American and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture.  The NDP Task Force co-ordinates these tens of thousands of events every year.   Washington, D.C.  respects and is motivated by numbers, pressure, and media.  It takes faithful spiritual leaders to keep up the pressure for freedom of religion, speech, and the right to peaceful assembly.  The mind-control spirit of political correctness has lulled our nation into spiritual stupor.  We must have bold preachers who only fear God and have no fear of man.

It will be the pastors who will be held accountable before God for failing to preach the uncompromised Word of God for fear of losing their tax exempt status.  In Dr. Dobson’s combative speech, he challenged President Obama to –“Come get Me, I will not yield to your wicked regulations.”

Ann Graham Lotz preached all three of her messages from Matthew 24 aligning the signs of the times with the message preached by Jesus of the “signs of the second coming and of the end of the world” (Mt. 24:3).

She described these signs in three categories:

  1. Spiritual signs:

(a)   False Christs (24:5) – “For many shall come in My name saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many”.

(b)  Deny the power and a great falling away.

(c)   Wars and rumors of wars (24:6) – “You shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you be not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”

(d)  Nation rising against nation (24:7) – “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diver places- all these are the beginning of sorrows.”

(e)   Persecution of Christians (24:9) “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you; and you shall be hated of all nations for My name’s sake.  Then shall many be offended (scandalized) and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.”

(f)     False Prophets (24:11) “Many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many.”  24:24: “There shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

(g)  Deny the power and great falling away (24:12) “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”

  1. Environmental Signs:

(a)   Famine - “Mt. 24:7”…there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in diverse places…”

(b)  Earthquakes

(c)   Severe weather –record breaking and increasing in intensity.

(d)  Acts 2: 19-20:  I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.”

  1. Global Signs:

(a)   The parable of the Fig Tree (sign of Israel) “When its branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near; So likewise, you, when you shall see all these things, know that is near, even at the doors.  Verily I say to you.  This generation shall not pass, until all these things be fulfilled.”  Evangelist Ann Graham Lotz pointed out that she was born in May 1948 and that Israel became a nation in May 1948.  She is persuaded that Jesus Will come in her life time.

(b)  The gospel shall be preached in the whole world (24:14) “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the entire world for a witness to all nations; and then shall the end come.”   This is being done through the internet.

(c)   Financial disaster – our nation is nearly $18 trillion in debt.

(d)  Unchecked growth of government

Matthew 24:13:  “He that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved.”

Matthew 24:35:Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.  Of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but My Father only.”

24: 44-46:  Be ready for in such an hour as you think not the Son of man comes.  Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing.  Verily I say to you, that he shall make him ruler over all his goods…”

The messengers were bold and the messages were strong without compromise.

There is one other minister I want to mention.  That is Rabbi Chan, the author of “Harbinger”.  Again his message was one of calling this nation to repentance and back to God.  “America’s hope lies in the name of Yeshua Hamashia, Jesus the Messiah, the Light of the World,” he said.  “It was for Him this nation came into existence.  It is in Him alone that hope lies….it is time to pray.  It’s time to seek the face of God.  It’s time to turn from our evil ways that He might hear our prayers, forgive our sins and heal our land.”

Rabbi Chan is carrying a powerful Kingdom anointing.

Let us pray,
