PEACE THROUGH RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT
PEACE THROUGH RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT
Sunday Evening Service
September 14, 2014, the Year of Our Lord
Pastor Carolyn Sissom
As Sandra and I were driving home from Cypress after I preached this message, Satan was trying to beat me up for preaching it.
The Holy Spirit spoke to me, “A Preacher of Righteousness”. 2 Peter 2:5: …God spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.”
Hebrews 11:7: “Noah, was warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the savings of his house; by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”
Amos 5:24: “Let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.”
Psalm 119:66: “Teach me good judgment and knowledge; for I have believed Your commandments.”
It goes without saying that the children of the king do not condemn or criticize others. As a child growing up, I was taught the three “C’s” in school and Sunday school. Do not criticize, condemn or complain. I really don’t remember when I first knew this.
Those who have a critical spirit will reap what they have sown. Gal. 6: 7-8: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. He that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”
The word “judge” (mishpat) is a positive rather than the negative term of critiquing and criticizing.
2 Samuel 8:15: “David reigned over all Israel and David executed judgment (mishpat) and justice to all his people.”
Mishpat is an Old Testament word for “judge” – which mean rule; execute judgment; to be correct or to render a correct decision; act of deciding a case; execution of judgment and time of judgment; justice; right, etc.
There are at least four different words used for “Judge”: “krites; dikastes; anakrino; diakrino;
Matt. 7:1: “Judge not, that you be not judged, for with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again. Why do you behold the mote that is in your brother’s eye, but consider not the beam this is in your own eye. You hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of your own eye; and then you shall see clearly to cast out the mote out of your brother’s eye.”
“Krino” = “to separate, select, choose; hence, to determine or judge; conclude, condemn, decree, esteem, sentence, think, approve, to be of opinion, deem, resolve; to pronounce an opinion concerning right and wrong; to pronounce judgment; to rule or govern…”
In our civil government, men whose lives have exemplified the wisdom to make righteous judgment are set into the office of judges.
John 5:30: “I can of my own self do nothing; as I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just; because I seek not My own will, but the will of the Father which has sent me.”
Romans 14:4 “Who are you that judge another man’s servant? to his own master he stands or falls. Yea, he shall be helped up; for God is able to make him stand.”
Luke 6:39:Jesus spoke a parable to them, “Can the blind lead the blind? Shall they not both fall into the ditch?
It is of a truth that those who are unqualified are ever giving free advice. I continually caution people to check their words that they are not “opinions”. Our opinions become judgments. Our judgments will only be just when we seek the will of the Father and not lean on our own understanding.
Proverbs 28: 4-5: “… Evil men do not understand judgment. They that seek the Lord understand all things.”
The life style of the Kingdom walk is marked by righteousness, peace and joy n the Holy Ghost. It is only through the “righteousness” of the Blood of Christ, His Word and His Holy Spirit that we are able to make “right” judgments. The effect of right judgments will bring peace. Once we have the “peace of God that passes all understanding”, then the joy of the Lord is our inheritance.
When evil men rule a nation, they have no understanding of judgment. Therefore, under their rule, there is no peace, but chaos.
Zechariah 7: 8-9: “Thus speaks the Lord of hosts; saying, execute true judgment and show mercy and compassions every man to his brother.”
John 5:22: “For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son; that all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that does not honor the Son, does not honor the Father which has sent Him. Verily, verily, I say to you, He that hears My word, and believes on Him that sent Me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death to life.”
The measurement of Jesus’ judgment is the Holiness of His righteousness. Lately I have been led by the Holy Spirit to bring that which is wicked and evil, even that which is out of Godly alignment before the righteousness of Jesus Christ. The situation then requires no judgment on my part, but in the presence of Jesus’ righteousness, that which is evil will burn as chaff and that which is righteous will remain as pure gold.
It is also true that judgment (justice) is rendered by those whom the King has called, appointed, chosen, anointed and confirmed.
Acts 17:31: “He has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom he has ordained whereof He has given assurance to all men, in that He has raised Him from the dead.”
Those who are given the responsibility of judgment have judged themselves.
1 Cor. 11:31-32: “If we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.”
2 Cor. 13:5: “Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith; prove your own selves. Know your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except you be reprobates?
These are proven ministries who have met God’s requirements. This self-examination is experienced in the church as a Day of Atonement, following the pattern of Jesus.
All judgment has been given to the Son, therefore the righteousness of the Son will be the measure of that which is to be burned away and this which is of a pure heart.
The Day of Atonement is a day of humiliation when justice may be denied to us to prove us.
Though we are all reluctant, it is the day when we shall consider the beams in our own eyes. This will qualify a ministry to render and be a vessel of pure and righteous justice in the earth. Those who have judged themselves, will always be able to extend grace and mercy to the Body of Christ. They will not and cannot flow in the Spirit of God in condemnation. “There is therefore now, no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
We are always measured by our own measurement.
Acts 8: 32-33: “he was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer. He did not open His mouth. In His humiliation, His judgment was taken away.
Matthew 12: 18-20: “Behold My servant, whom I have chosen; My beloved, in whom My soul is well pleased; I will put My Spirit upon him, and He will show judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not strive nor cry; neither shall any man hear His voice in the streets. A bruised reed shall He not break, and smoking flax shall He not quench, till he send forth judgment to victory.”
There will be a people who will come to the measure of Jesus Christ. Isaiah was prophesying of Jesus Christ, but also of Jesus’ brothers.
2 Chronicles 9:8: The Queen of Sheba’s blessing to Solomon: “Blessed be the Lord your God which delighted in you to set you on His throne, to be king for the Lord your God; because your God loved Israel, to establish them forever. Therefore, He made you king over them to do judgment and justice.”
Psa. 33:5: “He loves righteousness and judgment; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.”
Psa. 36:6: “Your righteousness is like the great mountains; your judgments are a great deep; O lord you preserve man and beast.
Mic 7:9: “I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me; he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
Judgment is a purge that will remove impure dross and leave behind a pure residue. Those who have faith will survive the coming flood. A holy seed will survive. He who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy, every one who has been recorded for life in Jerusalem.
The righteous judgment of Christ ---in his people is the vessel which will produce righteousness in the earth and thus peace.
Hos. 2:9: I will betroth you unto me forever; yes I will betroth you unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving kindness, and in mercies.”
God’s purpose centers in Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, a company of those who are betrothed unto him will come into the image of Christ and be given dominion in the Kingdom of God in righteousness, in judgment, in loving kindness and in mercies.
The Kingdom of God is the realm of the authority of King Jesus. In this realm the Lord’s decreed rule and will is performed. This is royal power, kingship, dominion, rule; and territory subject to the rule of a king; God’s royal domain.
The Kingdom age is now dawning upon the earth in which the Kingdom of God will come in its fullness. Jesus Christ and His subjects will rule the earth for 1000 years with a rod of iron. Although we speak of a Kingdom Age which is coming, we are Now living in, preaching, and teaching the Kingdom of God.
The Gospel of the Kingdom which we preach declares Jesus Christ to be Savior and Lord. The early church was commissioned to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom. So, there is no other gospel to preach. We are to live, move and have our being in the principles, benefits and responsibilities of the life of the Kingdom.
The Kingdom of God is the government of God in the earth and the universe. Kingdom of Heaven shows us where it is from and the Kingdom of God shows us who runs it.
All the promises of all the covenants were made to Jesus. All of the promises of all the covenants were fulfilled in and by Jesus. He has received all things at the hand of the Father. We are joint-heirs with Jesus of all things.
Today Deborah DeGar spoke of a new day. This is the time and season in which we are presently seeing God doing a new thing in the earth. In this new day there is beginning an unprecedented display of God’s nature, righteousness, power, and glory in and through the Church that is flowing to all nations of the world.
In this new day, we are learning to move in the due order or the divine order of God. God is a God of order and moves by pattern and principle in our lives. We are changing our ways and methods unto His ways and His methods.
The righteousness of Christ is the character or quality of being right or just. It is that part of the nature of the Lord Jesus which is the righteousness of God in the believer. Justified by faith through His blood, we are given the rightness of God and a right standing in God. Then in our daily living, this righteousness becomes functional and is demonstrated in right living as it is worked out in us.
The sanctification of the Christian is not legalism or license. Holiness is centered in Jesus. We are holy in Him through and by a change of nature from within which then flows out into every area of practical Christian living. We are set apart at conversion by the Blood of Jesus, and then we set ourselves apart daily and progressively by the washing of water by the Word. There will be a complete putting away of sin as the church partakes of the Day of Atonement.
Those who are righteous in their own eyes are not righteous before God. This false righteousness has its source in the love of self and the deception that one can be made righteous by his own merits. True righteousness must flow from within from a pure heart.
Jesus’ visitation of Righteousness, will bring forth the judgment that will bring the world into the Peace of the Lord. This is harmony, rest, quietness, reconciled, contentment.” It is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and an aspect of God’s nature. It means the end of struggle, doubt, and uncertainty.
Deut. 9:5: “”Not for your righteousness, or the uprightness of your heart, do you go to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord your God does drive them out from before you, and that He may perform the word which the Lord swear to your fathers…”
