THE THREE SIGNETS

THE THREE SIGNETS

"I will make you like My signet ring"

Sunday, July 24, 2016, the Year of Our Lord

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

Again we daily watch what might appear to the world as catastrophic political changes going on in the nations of the earth.  In the midst of these shakings, we are assured “The scepter shall not depart from Judah (the Kingdom promised to David), nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.” (Gen. 49:10)

Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace, the greater Son of David, whose Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom.

We have the surety and guarantee that God will bring His purposes and our destiny to completion and conclusion.  He will seal His new creation three times---in the heart, hand and head.

In the time of global shaking and the distress of nations, God’s people have no need to fear.

Last week we finished the sermon with the promise to Zerubbabel of the seal of the Lord’s signet ring.  He was a seal of the Lord guaranteeing the fulfillment of God’s promises given to David (2 Sam. 7: 12-16).

The Lord’s Bride, the Glorious Church, the latter house of greater anointing will go forth with the mind of Christ, in the power of the Spirit.  True compassion will flow out of a new heart.  The whole world will behold their witness Jn. 3:3-35:  He that has received his testimony has set to his seal that God is true…The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.”

The apostle John saw this finished work in the Book of Revelation (Rev. 3:21; 7:3; 14:1; 22:4) using the word “seal” over 30 times.

The journey of the Kingdom of God is three experiences of three supernatural sealings.  This triple sealing powerfully restates the spiritual law of “excellent” or threefold things (Prov. 22:20).

The first revelation I received from the Lord about the third sealing was before I started the first church in Baton Rouge.  We were in Ann Wright’s home (1989?).  The Lord spoke to me that I was to “seal the people by laying my hand on their fore head for them to have the Mind of Christ.  This subsequently became my “calling” to lead people to become overcomers, walking in maturity, calling forth a people who will reveal the image of Jesus Christ and live in the realm of the Kingdom of God.

The first sealing is to be Born Again and Water Baptism

The second sealing is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The third sealing is the Mind of Christ.

In my studies, I discovered the Lord revealed this “triple sealing” to Bill Britton many years ago.  Then in July 2001, the Lord gave me an open eye vision, I saw a plate of gold, a cobalt blue cup, a cluster of grapes and a loaf of bread.  At that time, and then again in November 2010, I preached a message on “The Plate of Pure Gold.” (Sermon notes) (www.eastgateministries.com)

Ex. 39: 28-31: “And a MITRE of fine linen, and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and lined breeches of fine twined linen, and a girdle of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple and scarlet of needlework, as the Lord commanded Moses.  And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.”

The Greek word for “seal” is sphragis.  Vine’s Dictionary defines sealing as an
emblem expressing ownership, authentication, permanency, security with a view to destination, and the persons “sealed” are secured from destruction and marked for reward!”

The Holy Spirit has been leading our church all year through a healing of the “soul” and preparing us for unshakeable peace in the midst of His shaking the earth.

The purpose of unshakeable peace is to complete the real temple, to save the whole man---spirit, soul and body.  Jesus Christ is set forth in the Book of Hebrews as our great High Priest, the heavenly Jeshua.

A careful study of the sacred garments of Aaron reveals three sets of seals on his robes and headpiece (Ex. 28:11, 21, 25).  The High Priest in full three-layered dress gloriously portrays the new creation Man standing in the magnificent majesty of total redemption.

The three dimensions of Moses’ Tabernacle and the three major Feasts of the Lord are foundational to the principle of the triple sealings.  Another basic parallel in Aaron’s high priestly vesture; marked for glory and beauty was the three signets.

First Signet: Breastplate (Ex. 28:21; 39:14) (Stones in breastplate engraved as a signet.)  This covered the heart of the High Priest.  It was made with gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, all representing the divine nature of Jesus Christ.  Each of the twelve stones, inscribed with the names of the tribes of Israel, is a specific aspect of our new nature (born again) (2 Cor. 5:17).

Song 8:6: “Set me as a seal upon your heart…”

Mt. 15:19: “Out of the heart comes evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.”

When the heart is sealed, the works of the flesh are cut off (Gal. 5:19-21).

Aaron’s first signet pictures the experience of the new birth and the sealing of that conversion with water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ.  The New Covenant requires a spiritual circumcision of the heart.  This we covered in Joshua, chapter 5---on time again!

He that believes and is baptized shall be saved.  In the Feast of Passover, we name Jesus Christ as our personal Savior.  The old nature is cut off by the operation of the Holy Spirit.  We put on his breastplate and become partakers of the divine nature (2 Pet. 1:3).  We receive peace with God---peace that loves, peace that gives.

Second Signet: Two Onyx stones (Ex. 28:11; 39:6) – (Two stones engraved as a signet set in gold.)  These two onyx stones were settings on the shoulders of the High Priest, upon them were also engraved the names of the twelve tribes.  Two is the number of witness, and it is very significant in connection with the Feast of Pentecost (Acts 1:8; 5:32).

This second sealing focuses on power and promise.  It was put on the shoulders or government.  The shoulders, arms, and hands all speak of strength, power and the ability to rule or govern (Is. 9:6).  The second sealing is the Pentecostal experience of the Holy Ghost baptism.  Pentecost is in part.  It is the foretaste, the pledge of the full inheritance ready to be revealed in the last time.

1 Peter 1: 4-5: “To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith to salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

This was illustrated when Jeremiah bought the field and sealed the subscribed evidence (Jer. 32: 10-14).  He knew that one day God would turn the captivity of Judah, and they would return to the land of their inheritance.  Haggai helped fulfill that glorious promise.  For those who did not believe the Lord’s prophets, they lived in defeat, did not buy land, or seal deeds.  For them, the day of revival and restoration was over.

But there is another remnant of the Body of Christ crossing the Jordan, coming out of captivity.  God gave a seal, a promise that a glorious, overcoming, triumphant church will come forth.  The mighty power of the Holy Spirit guarantees the Lord will fill the latter house of greater glory with unshakeable peace that lifts and guards.

Third Signet: The third signet or seal was the gold plate on the forehead of the High Priest

(Ex. 28: 36-39):  And you shall make a plate of pure gold, and engrave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, Holiness to the Lord.  And you shall put it on a blue lace that it may be upon the MITRE; upon the forefront of the MITRE (turban), it shall be.”

The final sealing is the experience of the full mind of Christ.  The seal of Jesus’ apostleship are overcomers who are completely conformed to His image and likeness (Ro. 15:28).

Why is this final sealing in the forehead?  The Greek root word for “seal” means “the mind or cognitive faculties.”  Our complete son ship has to do with the transformation of the soul, the renewing of the mind.  The Church is being transfigured and changed from glory to glory until we receive the full mind of Christ.

This experience was set forth in Haggai 2: 20-22 as the complete overthrowing and consequent removal of the throne and strength of all other kingdoms (2 Cor. 10: 3-6).

The finished temple of the New Covenant, sealed in the forehead, will have given the Lord Jesus their whole heart and mind, the whole dominion (1 Pet. 1:13).

“Holiness to the Lord’ was the engraving on Aaron’s headpiece or crown.  This is the condition of the fully sealed mind, the shalom, or wholeness of the finished house of perfected peace.  This is the victor’s wreath, a triple sealing, a threefold cord fastened in the heart, the hand, and the head.  Three sealings, three experiences, three realities.  Three dimensions of unshakeable peace; peace that loves, lifts, and laughs; peace that gives, guards, and governs.

The maturity of that people will be seen and demonstrated by an unshakeable peace in the time of global shaking!

Is. 26:3: “You shall keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee; because he trusts in you.”

Phil. 4:7: “The peace of God which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Let the Father set His seal upon your heart, your hand, and your head.  Then, as one of His lively stones, take your place among the resurrected army of peacemakers in His latter house of greater glory.

November 9, 2010: the Lord spoke to me, “Carolyn I want my ministers to be living, color Kodak copies of Jesus.”
