"SHIGIONOTH" - Worship and Prayer in the Holy Spirit.
SHIGIONOTH
(A song of the roar of the persecuted; then the roar of the victory of Christ Jesus)
Praying in abandonment in the Holy Ghost.
Psalm 7 and Habakkuk 3:1
Sunday, October 16, 2016, the Year of Our Lord
Psalm 7 is entitled the “Shiggaion of David, which he sang in intercession unto the Lord, concerning the words (persecution) of Cush, the Benjamite.” Shigionoth is a realm in worship that suspends linier time. Few people dare to enter into, a place where we let go and focus worship on Him, a place of sudden atmospheric change where you tap into the eternal realm! David worshipped in this realm as did Habakkuk. Through the Holy Spirit praying in us and through us, we can pray From “Shigionoth.”
I hear many voices from Christians in America who are crying unto the Lord for their personal distress and the distress of nations (Lk. 21:25). Praise and Intercession will turn the sob of America into a song.
Praise releases the presence and government of God. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Each day can be lived in a major key or a minor key, our lifestyle is either a happy song or a sad song.
Whatever songs we are singing, worldly or worship, we are either making a covenant with death and hell or we are washed in the New Testament blood of the Lamb.
Jesus is the Worshiper, the Son of God. In relationship to all men in the earth, He is the intercessor, or Inter-Seeder, the Son of Man. Everything Jesus does is summed up in worship and intercession, receiving and ministering the resurrection life of God.
The Church is a many-membered stringed instrument in the hand of the Chief Singer. He has turned our sob into a song, our mourning into dancing. Most importantly, we are walking living, and singing together.
Are you a worshipper and an intercessor? Have you been raised from the death of trespasses and sins? Are you filled with the glory of the Lord? Are you now anointed, seeding His resurrection life in others?
Hab. 3:19: “He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon my high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.”
Yours, O Lord Jesus, is the Kingdom the power, and the glory. The song we are singing is unto You; out of You…it is You!
David, the sweet psalmist of Israel, sat in his tent and sang unto the Lord. When the Lord saved each of us, He said (as David declared to his son Solomon). I’ve defeated all your enemies. Now take My provision and build your life, your home, your family, your ministry, your local church…your nation!
America the Lord God is our strength.
2 Sam. 2:23: “God is my strength and power. He makes my way perfect.”
God is America’s source. Where do we find such strength?
Jesus the Priest is the Son of God in worship.
Jesus the Priest is the Son of Man in intercession.
Jesus the Priest in worship is the Tree of Life.
Jesus the Priest in intercession is the River of Life.
There was a tree in Eden and a river out of Eden. In worship, the Son of God assumes and becomes the resurrection life of God; in intercession, the Son of Man “inter-seeds” and sows that life into the world. Jesus Christ has become the River of reconciliation, pouring forth the forgiveness and blessing of the Father. In these last days, He has given the same commission to His Church:
Gen. 2:10: And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.”
Ps. 46:4: “There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.”
There is a grace that is sufficient to walk through every trial and test. God will do this for America and the Church if we will but sing our song of worship unto Him.
We are watching as the secular world has gone mad in its ignorance of what really matters. The blind have led the blind. Non-issues have become front-page news. People are fighting with each other over non-issues.
The highest law in the universe is the law of intercession. From the mercy-seat in the Most Holy Place, the life of Jesus Christ flows out to the whole world. His intercession is able to save us to the uttermost. Our great High Priest is always speaking, singing and praying. The Church is doubly blessed. Our great High Priest ever lives to pray for us while the Holy Ghost intercedes in and through us!
Rev. 22: 1-2: “He showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits and yielded her fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”
Jesus the Priest in worship is the Tree of Life, that is in His worship to the Father, He received, appropriated, assumed and became the life of God.
Prov. 11:30: “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wins souls is wise.”
Last week when I was slain in the Spirit after preaching the Word about the “Three Storms”, I saw multitudes of saints approaching the throne singing and rejoicing because a fullness of times was now on the earth.
What does fullness of times mean? “When the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law. To redeem them those were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” (Gal. 4:4)
Jesus said, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
1 Co. 4:5: “Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall every man have praise of God.”
Do I think it is the “time” of the second coming of Jesus Christ? No!
Of course, it could be!
I do believe the earth is under a visitation of the Lord.
Eph 1:9-11: “Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he has purposed in himself. That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ both which are in heaven and which are on earth; even in him. In whom also we have obtained an inheritance being predestinated according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will.”
In the vision, I felt the saints in heaven were rejoicing that which has been spoken by prophets and our Lord has now come to a fullness of times.
Do I believe the antichrist is to be revealed? I don’t know. I know the spirit of antichrist is at work in the earth and all hell has broken loose.
2 Th. 2:4-11: Now you know what is restrained that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity does already work; only he who not lets will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.”
It would appear we have come to this time; or at least the beginning of this time.
Daniel 8:23: “In the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached their fullness, a king shall arise, having fierce features, who understands sinister schemes.”
There is also a time spoken of by the Apostle Paul, “When I come unto you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.”
Perhaps the time is come. It is time for the river of God to flow into the earth, for the corporate Seed to fall into the “ground” and die. It is time for the Church to be the able dispenser of the New Covenant.
There is nothing you have faced, are facing, or will ever face that the Lord Jesus has not conquered. What is going to happen in America? The secret of knowing the answers to these questions is to understand Jesus is totally victorious. Just as everything concerning Jesus’ earthly ministry was “written,” so these times that we are now in have been “written.”
The word Shigionoth is only used twice in the Holy Writ, but the Word stands in its own value. It is my personal interpretation this is “praying in the Holy Spirit in total abandonment.”
Hab. 3:1: “A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth.” Habakkuk’s song was a hymn of great passion. Shigionoth is in the same word family as “shaag” (Strong’s 7580), which mean to cry aloud in trouble, danger, or pain.” “Shagionoth” means to roar…twice.
Habakkuk cried out in his pain (roared) to the Lord because of the distress of his nation, but when he lifted His eyes once more, He roared in praise.
Like our ancient prophetic friend, all of us have sobbed before the Lord for our nation, the church, families and those who are lost. In prayer and praise, we will see the bigger picture. Jesus is totally victorious.
Jesus is the Chief Cornerstone, Chief Shepherd and the Chief Singer. The New Testament quoting the Psalmist, declares Jesus to be the Chief Singer, the Chief Musician.
Ps. 22:22: “I will declare your name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you.”
Heb. 2:12: “I will declare your name unto my brethren, In the midst of the church I will sing praise unto You.”
Worship and intercession sum up the ministry of Jesus Christ. Once the Church conforms to this image, the world must face the glorious church.
The war is over. It is finished. Jesus defeated the devil and destroyed his works. The spoils of His eternal victory are the blessings and benefits of the New Covenant. The Church is learning how to understand, receive and administrate His triumph.
The glorious Church will come forth to fulfill her responsibility of worship to the heavens and her role of intercession to the earth. All else must step aside to this high calling. Surely the true church is before the Lord in intercession during these perilous times when the media is imploding, and our government leaders are imploding.
“God is Spirit and His worshippers must worship in Spirit and in truth.”
An intercessor is one who makes contact with God. It is a lifestyle. It is an environment of the presence of God. At rest in the Lord, the intercessor lights upon the will of God and begins prayer in agreement with God. An interceder is a shaker and a mover, affecting his world, attaining his purpose because he/she has met with God.
In chapter 47 of Ezekiel’s visions, a river flows out of the sanctuary. The source of the river is the Man hidden in the sanctuary! First, that Man is the Man, Christ Jesus, glorified and exalted, the Head of the Church. Second, that Man is the hidden Man of the heart, Christ in you, the hope of glory.
The temple in Ezekiel 40-48 is not a future temple, but the New Testament Gospel temple. These waters are destined to overcome death, and the leaves of the trees are for medicine to heal disease. They flow toward the east, announcing a new day for every thing and every one. This Holy Ghost River makes all things new.
In Ezekiel 47, the Man measured the depths of the waters four times. The length of His measurement totaled 4000 cubits or 6000 feet, showing the progressive unfolding of the fullness of the Spirit (to the ankles, knees and loins). The full measure of 6000 feet brings it to “waters to swim in”, a river that could not be passed over. The waters have risen and the banks are overflowing in time of harvest. This River is too much for man’s wisdom and strength.
Ez. 40:5: “Behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed of six cubits long by the cubit and a hand breadth; so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.”
Six is the number of man. The measurement was a hand beyond what a man can do. The ingenuity and technology of man is not enough. In the Day of the Lord, man is brought to the end of his wit, wisdom, intelligence and skill. I would say we are there. The issues of men will drown in the depth of rising waters.
The interceding Church is empowered by the Holy Spirit. Our King is not tied to human systems, measures, traditions and prejudices. It is the day for His fullness, and His fullness requires two things:
- The absolute authority of the Man on the Throne.
- The absolute necessity of His direction.
His authority is established in worship. His direction is in intercession. The river of life flows between the banks of His way, His mind.
Ez. 47:9: It shall come to pass, that every thing that lives, which moves, where ever the rivers shall come, shall live; and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither; for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live wherever the river goes.”
This speaks of two rivers. There was a place where the river divided into two, or became twin. Two is the number of witness and reveals a Church in His image and likeness, a Church that has become a River of life in the earth, ministering Jesus’ life to all men. The life produced by this River and the “very great multitude of fish” point to the harvesting of the nations in the Feast of Tabernacles.
Look again ---Jesus Christ from His birth to His lordship over all things is upon “Shigionoth.” It is the roar of victory. Jesus Christ the intercessor has triumphed. He will triumph in His Church.
