The Year of Our Lord

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

This Christmas Season our hearts are full of thanksgiving knowing that God has again moved by His Hand over this great nation for His redemption purposes.

All Civil and Spiritual authority is set into place in the fullness His time, when He  moves in the earth in His redemption program.

Gal. 4: 4-5 “When the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”

Every 2000 years, there is enormous opposition to the Divine plan as God works in and through His chosen ones,  Pharaoh hardened his heart against the word of Moses.  King Herod furiously boiled over and ordered his henchmen to kill the baby Jesus.  Rampant global ignorance of Satan’s defeat at Calvary’s cross has allowed the ancient serpent to become a great red dragon.

In the year 2000, great Glory was being poured out on the Church.  Then began a 16 year battle of oppression and intimidation to silence the mouth of the Body of Christ.  The mouth of the beast began a campaign of mind control using the liberal media, and our universities.  Our civil laws which were designed to protect us were used against us.

The Lord’s first deliverer chosen for greatness was Moses.

Moses was handpicked by Jehovah to liberate Israel.  Born to powerful Amram and conceived by his mother, Jochebed.  Moses possessed a Levitical heritage that would one day empower him to ascend the top of the mountain as the anointed priest of Yahweh.  In the Psalms, Moses is called the sent “servant” and “chosen” of the Lord.

Moses was no ordinary child.  He was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action.  The Living Bible says that he “became a mighty prince and orator.” (Acts 7:22)

This “somebody” had to become a “nobody,” left to be tossed in the throes of lonely desolation.  God’s man or woman must be drained of all self-sufficiency, molded in obscurity with the kind of meekness that refuses to shrink back from future publicity and scrutiny.

The prince of Egypt met his Maker and his match on the back side of the desert at Mount Sinai.  This protracted trial of faith would equip him to lead his church into that same barren wilderness and place of testing for another 40 years.

Moses was a mediator and reconciler.  A peace-maker will consistently model God’s chosen plan of reconciliation and forgiveness.

Although he and his people suffered great persecution at the hands of Pharaoh, the blood of the first Passover lamb brought them out of bondage with great favor and blessing!  Stephen’s sermon to his elders, narrating Israel’s history calls this season of fulfillment “the time of the promise” (Acts 7:17; Ex. 3:21-22; 12P: 35-36).

God arranged an unprecedented breakthrough of health and wealth upon His people.  A nation was born overnight as the sons and daughters of Israel reaped over four hundred years of back wages.  Jehovah promised Abraham that the nation born out of his loins would come forth from their affliction with “great substance.” (Gen. 14:14).

Galatians 3:14 affirms the blessing of Abraham has come to the Gentiles through Jesus Christ that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Genesis 12:2: “I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make you name great; and you shall be a blessing.”

President Elect Donald J. Trump came into agreement with this scripture when his campaign declared his commission, “Make America Great Again!”

We know, of course, the Kingdom of God was established in God’s people through the ministry of His Son, Jesus Christ.  We, the New Testament Church, are “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people that show forth the praises of him who has called us out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Pet. 2:9)

Yet, just as Israel was a chosen people, “a kingdom of priests, a holy nation (Ex. 19:6) for God’s redemptive purposes; also (because of the Church) the United States of America has been chosen and established by God for His redemptive purposes.

Moses arbitrated the Law.  Jesus Christ, the Pattern Son, is the Mediator of grace and truth.  God was in Christ, reconciling the whole world back to Himself.  Jesus Christ faced down the pressure of the ages.  This One is the prevailing Passover lamb.  This One rent the veil from the top to the bottom and dumped all of Heaven’s resources upon a new humanity.  This One is the Virgin Mary’s baby boy.  His is the greatest name of all.

Matthew 1:21: “…you shall call His name JESUS; for He shall save His people from their sins.”

Moses and his helpers took nine months to bring the work of building the Old Testament Tabernacle to completion.  Likewise it took nine months for the Holy Spirit to form the body of Jesus, the true Tabernacle, in the womb of the Virgin Mary.

The night of His Advent and birth was the first time that the angels had ever seen God.  The Babe born in Bethlehem’s manger was the image, the exact likeness, of the invisible, unseen God (Col. 1:15).  As the heavens exploded with the thunderous praise of angels and the spirits of just men made perfect, the “I AM” who sent Moses down to Egypt wrapped Himself in flesh and came down here.

Mary then wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, a feeding-trough, which was a crib or open box in a stable designed to hold fodder feeding livestock.  There He lay---eight pounds of love---all the fullness of the Godhead compressed into a tiny little body (Col. 1:19; 2:9).  The eternal Word (Logos), the sum total of everything that God would ever say to humankind had just become flesh.

The Time of the Messiah by: Kelly Varner:

“Judea, 4 B.C.

“Sanctified hope is whispering like a still, small voice in the hearts of devout Jews throughout the land.  No clear prophetic voice has been heard for 400 years, yet the spirit of prophecy is fluttering afresh over the ancient writings of Isaiah and Micah like a bird anticipating its decent.

“Religious systems and would-be prophets are settled in their convictions as to the purpose and manner of Messiah’s advent.

“The injustice of worldly Roman oppression is crying out for vengeance.  Poverty, ignorance, and disease continue to plunder the people.

“Inquiring angels are assembling for choir practice

“Demons are snickering ignorant and unchallenged.

“Wicked King Herod is proud of his ‘politically correct’ rebuilt temple.

“The priestly house of Zacharias and Elizabeth is quiet.

“A young couple from the house of David is laughing as they plan their wedding and future together.

“Some where in Jerusalem, an old man is still alive because God’s unfulfilled promise is stronger than the last enemy.

“In a small prayer chamber inside the house of the Lord, an old woman weeps and prays, as she has done for the past 80 years.

“Gabriel is reminding Daniel of his famous prophecy.

“Faithful shepherds, like David, are singing over their folds.

“Wise men are scanning the heavens.

“The heart of the sovereign God is stirring with the awareness of an everlasting, covenant.  The bosom of the Father is swelling with love, inspired to speak His Word.

“The Holy Spirit, the power of the Highest, stands ready to overshadow a habitation of purity.

“The stage is set.  It is time for the Deliverer to appear.”

Moses delivered one embryonic nation from the tyranny of a mere Egyptian Pharaoh.  Jesus saved all of creation from the bondage of sin and Satan.

Before time had begun or anything had been created, there was a meeting in the invisible realm.  The Father was there.  The Son was there.  The Holy Ghost was there.  The minutes of the meeting would later become “the volume of the book.”

Always the tactic of the devil and the beastly system is to wear out (mentally afflict or harass) the saints of the most High.  The continual and constant pressures of financial hardship, troubling health, relational conflict, and job-related stress drain God’s people of spiritual energy and deplete their emotional resources.

Satan continues to oppress, depress, intimidate, and persecute Christians with the antichristian doctrine of political correctness and another gospel or worse, another Jesus.

We must grasp the truth that we are destined and designed for greatness.  We are to fully apprehend our royal potential and reign with Jesus Christ as kings and priests.  Our purpose for this fullness of time is unique.  You are alive in the 21st century for such a time as this.

The Lord God in his redemptive purposes has again opened and released Christian liberty and freedom to His Holy Nation, the Church and His chosen nation, the United States of America.  This fullness of time will, of course, affect Israel as well as other Sheep nations.

We must be submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ during this season for the redemption and restoration of all things.

The trumpet has sounded, mustering His host.  We are hearing the rattling of chariots and the snorting of horses, the “goings” of the Lord.  The people of God from every nation are responding to the sound.

The blood of Jesus, our Passover Lamb, has delivered us from the oppressive bondage of sin and Satan.  God’s goodness and faithfulness have preserved His righteous remnant through the waste-howling wilderness of barren religious confusion.  The army of our heavenly Joshua now stands postured on the threshold of our individual and corporate destinies.  We have been freed from the old order and filled with the new wine.  A fullness of time is upon us.

These are critical days of ingathering.  We are painstakingly crossing over the final obstacles, the desperate acts of a desperate devil.  We certainly know, and he is sensing that the time is “short.”

Keep steady your steps.  What the Lord is now exhibiting in and through his people is a “hand” beyond what a man can do (Ez. 40:5).  Only God can bring us out of the bondage of mind control, and oppression of the spirit of antichrist (the fiery red dragon); as well as the beast system within each one of us; and the spirit of the false prophet in religious systems of the beast.

Moses and Jesus were both a “chosen” deliverer.  Each faced a “chosen” adversary---Pharaoh, Herod the Great.  Now, the Lord is birthing a corporate man-child company of overcomers.  Out adversary is the “great red dragon.”

Each of these three deliverers was “Chosen for Greatness.”

The set time for the manifestation and unveiling of the image and character of the Pattern Son in the midst of His many sons and daughters---the time to favor Zion (Ps. 102:12-16) has come.

Each of you has something to do that no one else can do.  You have something to say that no ones else can say.

This “chosen generation” has been marked out and hand-picked to live during this most powerful moment of God’s eternal redemptive purposes for man kind.

Like Simeon, Anna, the faithful shepherds and the wise men, we feel and know the Lord is going to do it again.

In blessing you will bless us, and in multiplying you will multiply our seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore.  Our seed will possess the gate of our enemies as a nation and as a people of God.  In your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed because you have obeyed my voice.” (Gen. 22:17-18) (Abraham’s covenant blessing).

Mt. 13:38: “…and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom…” (ASV)

The seed of God are His sons and daughters who are spread throughout the nations.  In every place and among all peoples, there is a chosen company of worshipers who have been predestined for greatness.

Mickie Winborn told me this week the Lord spoke to her that His people are nobility.

Greatness is defined as “breadth of mind, nobility, or worth.”  This is the greatness of “Christ in you,” the expectation of glory (Col. 1:27).  When we are “in Christ”, we live in the glory.

The Lord wants to restore greatness to America and to the Church in America.  He is extending to us all a space a grace.  Many of us have already fallen upon the One who is our Rock and been broken.  Those called and chosen for greatness, especially every leader, must humble themselves and call upon the Lord.  The time has come.  The Lord will use those who are able and available to make a difference in this world.  Our predetermined personal destiny and purpose will be revealed as we overcome the “kosmos” (beast system) within us and humble ourselves before God.
