SUPERNATURAL GRACE

GRACE IS SUPERNATURAL

Sunday, October 27, 2019, the Year of Our Lord

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

The supernatural work of Grace is in Christ Jesus (2 Ti. 2:1) and administered by the Holy Spirit of Grace all sufficiency in all things that we may have an abundance for every good work. (2 Co. 9:8).  God is able to make all grace abound toward us.

We are saved and discipled by Saving Grace:  Eph. 2:8: - For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Tit. 2:11 -14::  For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

  1. Grace brings salvation.
  2. Grace has appeared to all men.
  3. Grace teaches:

(1)    To deny ungodliness.

(2)    To deny worldly lusts

(3)    To live soberly

(4)    To live righteously

(5)    To live Godly.

(6)    To live right in this life.

(7)    To look for the appearing of our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ.

(8)    Who through grace redeemed us from every lawless deed.

(9)    Purified us for Himself

(10) Grace is given to make us zealous for good works.

I am persuaded that we must appropriate and apprehend the Grace of God from the realm of the Spirit of Grace through prayer and faith.  We have permanent access into this glorious grace by faith. .

Unchecked Copy BoxRom. 5:2: - By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

It is faith that gives us access to the graces of healing, miracles, salvation, deliverance, gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the power of Jesus Christ.

In the Old Testament it is written of the saints,  those who “found grace in the eyes of God.”   How did they find grace?  They found it in His sight, in His eyes, they sought Him to know Him.

The supernatural work of Grace in Christ Jesus has  released this power to overcome all of our struggles, weaknesses, lusts, sins and failures.

Psa. 84:11: - For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

I am here today to declare to you that whatever you are struggling to overcome in your soul and flesh that through supernatural grace you can receive the power to overcome.

The Word of God tells us that Grace is able to build us up and give us an inheritance. Paul’s apostleship was by Grace. We are justified by Grace. The promises to the seed are appropriated to us by Grace. We have access by faith into Grace. It is that which helps those who believe. Our work in the Kingdom is fulfilled by Grace. The testimony of the Word of Grace is signs and wonders. Paul was urged to stand fast and continue in the Grace of God. God gives grace to the humble. The Grace of God brings salvation. We have the Grace to help in times of need. The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Grace. Husbands and wives are heirs together of the grace of life.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace. (Heb. 4:16)

The High and Holy One, the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth---the King of kings and Lord of lords is not only inviting us but encouraging us to draw near to His throne---to approach Him, and to make known to Him all our longings and desires.  Unutterable grace!  Divine majesty stooping to a sin-stained world and opening the gates of Heaven through His Son that we might freely approach the throne of grace.

Unchecked Copy BoxRom 3:24 - being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus

Unchecked Copy BoxTit 3:7 - that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Fear not, for I am with you; neither be dismayed; for I am your God.  You will be strong by my Grace.  I will help you,  I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you; when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flames scorch you.  For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savioir.  I will not fail you nor forsake you.

At the throne of God’s Grace, for every situation, every circumstance, every event of life, there is promise of grace, mercy, and peace---there is assurance of safety here and glory hereafter,---of comfort in every hour of sorrow,---relief in every time of peril, and guidance in every decision of perplexity.

However we can fall from the power of His grace.

Gal 5:4 - Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; you have fallen from grace.

Jude 1:4 - For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Heb 10:29 - Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

Grace is the supernatural power of Jesus Christ to enable us to overcome sin, live a Godly life, in peace, joy, health and prosperity.  Grace will give us favor.  Grace will create in us a right sprit and cause us to be pleasing to the Lord in our speaking and our actions.

Grace does not give us permission to sin; nor does grace cover our sin so we can continue to sin.  Grace is not a warrant for sinful indulgence (Ro. 6:1, 15).

“Grace is the relational structure of Heaven.” (Mike Thompson)

“Legalism and works are the relational structure of Hell” (Mike Thompson)

No one comes into glory except by the grace of God that fills believers with his righteousness.  When we receive the grace of God by faith, righteousness is birthed within our life.  So I believe we can say, Faith brings us into grace. Grace brings us into salvation, justification, righteousness, glory and the fullness of the overcomer.  “Our clumsy attempts to please God and the works of religion are totally unable to make us holy.  But God is so kind, compassionate and gracious that he shares his righteousness with all who receive his Son, Jesus Christ.  He causes his faith-filled ones to be made holy by his grace. (T.P.T.)

John 1:14-17: - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Strong’s – charis – (G5485): good will, loving-kindness, favor----of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues

Webster: grace : unmerited divine assistance given to humans for their regeneration or sanctification b : a virtue coming from God c : a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine assistance

The Words of Christ’s grace grants signs and wonders:

Acts 14:3:…speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

We can also receive the grace of God in vain:

Unchecked Copy Box2Co 6:1 - We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

Paul exhorted Titus to excel in the grace of giving 2 Co. 8_6-7:  Just as the Lord has begun in you, so He will also finish in you  that you abound in everything, in faith in preaching, in knowledge, in diligence and in your love to us, see that you abound in the grace of generosity as well.

Preaching, revelation knowledge, diligence, love, and generosity are all given to us by grace.   We are made ministers according to the gift of the grace of God given unto us by the effectual working of his  power (Eph. 3:7).

Today it is to this supernatural gift of grace for power that I come before the Throne of grace; not just for myself, but for this congregation and the church universal.  We, the church, are not moving in the grace for power that God intends for us to apprehend from the spirit of grace.  We must pray for it, believe for it, and expect it.

We like the Church of Acts have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: (Ro. 1:5)

I challenge this church to pray this week and until you receive the supernatural power of grace to overcome your present spiritual and physical challenges.  I challenge you to pray for the grace to agree with God as he is presently bringing the destiny of nations into his divine purposes.  I challenge you to pray for the grace for healing of our nation and the church in this nation.  I challenge you to pray for grace to fulfill your ministry destiny.
