July 4, 2021 - GRACE ONLY THROUGH REDEMPTION

U.S.A. GRACE ONLY THROUGH REDEMPTION

SUNDAY, JULY 4, 2021, the Year of Our Lord

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

Blessed is the nation, whose God is the LORD (Ps. 33:12).

The prophets are declaring a paradigm shift by the Hand of God on July 4th.  The Lord has not spoken to me, but I come into agreement that God will intervene in our nation because of the corruption, wickedness, and overall sin against the righteousness of God.  Because of His righteousness, He must judge unrighteousness.

Yes, we are under Grace, but only if we receive the Grace of salvation offered to us. In order to be under Grace, we must repent of our sins and receive the Son of God, Jesus Christ, as our Lord and Savior.  The Lord is long-suffering and waits patiently for the precious fruit of the earth.  Ro. 3:24: (We are) justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness…

As we have studied Jeremiah, the priests and prophets were judged by God for not confronting the kings, priests, leaders of Judah and the people for their sins.

Jeremiah 25:3-7: the word of the LORD has come to me; and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, but you have not listened. The LORD has sent to you all His servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, but you have not listened nor inclined your ear to hear. “They said, ‘Repent now everyone of his evil way and his evil doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and your fathers forever and ever. ‘Do not go after other gods to serve them and worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands; and I will not harm you.  “Yet you have not listened to Me,” says the LORD, “that you might provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

United States of America, our sins as a nation are piled high.  Our government leaders no longer even pretend to lead with a God’s righteous decrees.  Just as God repeatedly judged his beloved Israel when they broke covenant with him, He continues to judge our nation.

Repent from your wicked ways and turn to Jesus Christ.  The LORD is just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus (Ro. 3:26).

Our nation was established in covenant with God.  Just as the founding fathers drew up the Declaration of Independence and the constitution as a national covenant document in agreement with the Holy Bible, we must also believe in faith that the LORD came into covenant with them.

This past week, I heard one of the pundits say that Justice Kagan quoted Gary Newcomer in her dissent: “The constitution was written by white people to benefit white people.”  This is totally untrue!  Every nationality and race have been blessed by our Republic.  When people of all nations arrive in this nation and become U. S. citizens, they have liberty, right to the pursuit of happiness, freedom of religion, free education, medical, and prosperity based on our work ethic.

As we know to be true, if we follow the way of Christianity, we will all prosper in His grace.  If we reject Christ and rebel against Him, we will come into judgment for sin.

On July 4, 1776, after much debate and several revisions, 56 brave patriots adopted the Declaration of Independence to form a new nation that was to become known as the United States of America---a nation dedicated to a new and somewhat radical proposition that all men were created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

This new experiment of personal liberty and human rights through representative government was uncommon, if not unheard of for its day.  Ultimately, at great cost, the colonies won their freedom in 1783, and the American experiment was underway.

Many questions had to be answered by the new nation in order to survive.  Fortunately for the founding fathers and for us, the sources of these answers had already been adopted and its principles interwoven into the charters of the 13 original colonies.  That source was the Holy Bible.  It is the book that bound colonial American society together from Maine to Georgia.

Our seventh President, Andrew Jackson, said, “That book, sir, is the Rock upon which our republic rests.”

As long as there is a “remnant church” in the United States of America, the LORD by virtue of His Holy Word in His Holy Bible must move by His mighty outstretched arm to redeem our nation from total destruction.  If Abraham could have found ten righteous in Sodom, the Lord would not have destroyed it (Gen. 18:32).  If Jeremiah could have found one man who executed judgement and sought truth, then the Lord would have pardoned Jerusalem. (Jer. 5:1).

I speak to our government leaders, the false doctrine of Cancel Culture, and to all cultures who have forsaken the LORD:  Jeremiah 2:19:  Your own wickedness shall correct you, and your backslidings shall reprove you; know, therefore, and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that you have forsaken the LORD your God, and that My fear is not in you, says the LORD GOD of hosts.

In the New Covenant of Grace, Paul writes in Romans 3:9-12:  There is none righteous, no not one… there is none that understands…there are none who seek after God…we are all under sin…there is none who does good…no not one.

Oh, what a joyful verse to counter religious spirits which would put us under condemnation and make us guilty before God.

Ro. 3:21-25 …Now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets.  We have the righteousness of God thorough faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all, who believe for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus., whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God passed over the sins that were previously committed.

We are faced with an invasion in our land of Marxism in the guise of socialism, communism, and now cancel culture.  This invasion has come in purposely and planned.  Government leaders have been bought and paid for by foreign nations seemingly leaving “we the people” sold out with neither Justice nor Military to protect us.  But, in 1954, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Congress legislated that our pledge read: “One Nation Under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

The Lord has kept us indivisible for 255 years. The sure foundation of our nation on the Word of God has proven itself over and over again in the formation and continuation of the greatest nation in history, the United States of America.

America stands without equal as a beacon of hope and freedom in a hurting world.  Our founding fathers delivered to us a system of government that has enjoyed unprecedented success.  We are the world’s longest ongoing constitutional republic.

We, like Israel are under the blessing of Abraham, father of nations, because we are of the DNA of Jesus Christ.

Genesis 12: 2-3:  I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.  I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

All the nations of the earth are blessed through the redemption that is through Jesus Christ.  There is a condition, the people must repent and receive Him as Savior.  It is not automatic.

God promises to gives His people a great land, make them a great nation; and pour out a great blessing on them.  Genesis contains the foundational truth that God is the source and beginning of all things and our only hope for the peace, happiness, and true liberty we all crave.  Genesis, the book of beginnings, gives us the witness of God’s creation of heaven and earth through His Word.  All things are sealed by His Word, and can only be opened by the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ.   Genesis is also the beginning of man’s rebellion and sin. God called a covenant people, the Jewish race, through whom He brought salvation to all the peoples of the earth.

Jeremiah 29:11-13:  I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

“I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel. As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal.  Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel, Since God is marching on.  He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat.  He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat.  Oh, be swift my soul, to answer Him! Be jubilant, my feet!  Our God is marching on.” (Battle Hymn of the Republic by Julie Ward 1861)

God-made Rights of God-Made Man: by Clarence Manion, dean of the Notre Dame college of Law (1941-1952):

Look closely at these self-evident truths, these imperishable articles of American faith upon which all our government is firmly based.  First and foremost is the existence of God.  Next comes the truth that all men are equal in the sight of God.  Third is the fact of God’s great gift of unalienable rights to every person on earth.  Then follows the true and single purpose of all American government, namely to preserve and protect these God-made rights of God-made man.

Jer. 4:2:  The LORD lives in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness, and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

Harry Truman: “The fundamental basis of this nation’s laws was given to Moses on the Mount.  The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings we get from Exodus and Saint Matthew, from Isaiah and Saint Paul…if we don’t leave a proper fundamental moral background, we will finally end up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the State!”

We are being invaded by all the nations in the earth.  They are coming here to escape socialism, totalitarian governments, poverty, sexual perversion, all manner of abuse and most of all hopelessness.  We must pray for the LORD to send the Evangelists to save their souls and bless them with the Life of Christ.  Yes, they are bringing with them their trouble and their wickedness is great.  We must not water down the gospel of Jesus Christ to persuade these people to become Christians.  We must preach the truth with boldness and trust the Holy Spirit to bring in the souls.

Luke 10:2:  Jesus said to them, the harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few.  Pray to the Lord of the harvest, that he should send forth laborers into his harvest.
