HEALING AND DELIVERANCE - APOSTLES AUTHORITY

HEALING AND DELIVERANCE

APOSTOLIC AUTHORITY

Sunday, March 10, 2024, the Year of Our Lord

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

Last week, I read Luke 9:1-2 in a new light and a new level of revelation and faith was imparted to me through this scripture.

He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.  He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

It is indisputable that we have been called to preach the kingdom of God.  I came preaching the Kingdom of God and this church is corporately steadfast in that revelation and authority.

Luke 8: 10:  To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that “seeing they may not see and hearing they may not understand.”

We are also steadfast in this church to pray for the sick and to bring in ministries with “gifts of healings.”  The gifts of healings, deliverance and miracles are gifts of the Holy Spirit.  Jesus Christ, Himself, chooses the five-fold ministries, apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists, and teachers.

Earlier in the Gospel of Luke, 6:13: Jesus called His disciples to Himself, and from them chose twelve whom He also named apostles.

Within the authority given to the apostles by Jesus to preach the Kingdom of God is also the authority over demons, to cure diseases, and heal the sick.  This is the authority to decree and declare deliverance and healing with the same authority of the Word of God as when the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.  The words we speak become flesh.  We preach the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in Heaven.  Nothing wavering, nothing lacking.

We the church/ecclesia have been operating in healing through the gifts of healing, but we have now entered a new era of supernatural power. My faith statement is the Apostolic authority give by Jesus to heal the sick and cast out demons  is in  the overcoming Kingdom/ church to usher in the Harvest.  For those of us who have labored in the fields, we know the sins and sickness of mankind are too enormous for mere pastors and preachers to affect.  We must have a greater outpouring of supernatural divine power and authority from Christ’s throne of grace and mercy.

As you know, many are called to be apostles and some move in that authority in measure.  It is my faith statement that there is another level of healing and deliverance authority within the preaching of the Kingdom of God.  I have waited before the Lord to see the manifestation of this power in the Church.  That is wrong.  He is waiting on us to move by faith and decree the power and authority He has already given us.  However, this new level of the supernatural operates from the realm of faith which decrees the Word of God.  It will be the realm of faith which works by love.

Luke 11:20: If I cast our demons with the finger of God, surely the Kingdom of God has come upon you.

Luke 10:8-9:  Whatever city you enter …heal the sick there, and say to them, the kingdom of God has come near to you.

Mt. 12P:28: If I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.

You can say, “Carolyn, we have been speaking healing in the name of Jesus.”  Are you talking about “name it and claim it?” which went too far and took the church into error with disappointment and hope deferred?

No! I am speaking of the power and authority within those who know the mysteries of the kingdom of God and live there by the Holy Spirit; that a greater realm of glory and power is being released upon the faithful remnant. Not all churches preach and believe the Kingdom of God has come.

Seeing they may see and not perceive,

And hearing they may hear and not understand,

Lest they should turn

And their sins be forgive them. (Mk. 4:12).

I listened to Tim Sheets last night after I have been soaking in Luke 9:1-2 all week.  As you know, he is attacking prostate cancer.  In his pressing into the Lord, the Lord revealed to him:

“Healing is a New Testament precedent.  Holy Spirit is going to release healing again with levels the world has never seen.  Christ’s covenant promises to heal are to be released at far greater levels than was seen in the voice of healing movement of the 1950s and 60s.   This will be greater because the size of the remnant now is much larger.  The apostles, and the apostolic and prophetic movement are now functioning.  We now have hundreds of functioning ecclesia. Also, the glory of the Lord is rising in far greater measure than we have ever seen.  We are to raise our voice and contend against the evil one.  It is part of Holy Spirit’s plan for the King’s ecclesia to loose Christ’s healing power at levels never seen before.   This supernatural transitional reformational era is now beginning.  Holy spirit said that Hell’s trying to stop it.  (Thus, the attack on the front-line warriors). This era is going to be a supernatural era and part of it is healing and miracles.

Apostolic healings, or these Apostolic Ekklesia hubs are going to experience dramatic healings.  Supernatural miracles have been prophesied to now accelerate.  Stunning miracles are going to be seen. Stunning healings are going to be seen.  We must pray that our stewardship responsibility accelerates forward and stand in faith.  It is

God’s will to heal.  Jesus is our healer.  He healed all manner of sicknesses and diseases.  Healing is the children’s bread.  Raise your faith again receive a fresh outpouring of Divine Healing.” (End of quote by Tim Sheets).

The Lord has provided multiple ways of administering Divine healing:

1.     Laying on of hands. Mark 7:32: They brought unto him one that was deaf and had an impediment in his speech; and they asked him to put his hand upon him.

2.     The spoken Word.  Ps. 107:20: He sent his Word and healed them. Demonstrated by Jesus when he healed the Centurion’s servant. (Mt. 8: 5-13)

3.     The elders anoint with oil and pray. James 5:14:  Is any sick among you, let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

4.     The prayer of Faith.  The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

5.     The Lord’s Supper 1 Cor. 11:23-30:  For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.  For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

6.     Through a point of contact Mark 6:56: And wherever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.  This is the covenant of the ribband of blue (Numbers 15:37-40) There are many instances where people touched Jesus and were healed.   Mark 3:10: Sea of Galilee:  He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to touch Him.

7.     By handkerchiefs and aprons Acts 19: 11-12: And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:  so that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and they diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.”

8.     By casting out devils (Luke 8:26-39)

9.     By gifts of healings 1 Cor. 12:9: This is through those who have been anointed as Healers.  I believe this would be inclusive of the medical profession as well as those who minister Divine Healing.

I was going back through my sermons on Healing.  On April 23, 1994, I wrote this note: “The winds will bring forth the power of God.” I believe we can expect those same winds to usher in the  power and authority given to the Apostles to heal as we decree and act in healing and deliverance by faith.

There are various kinds of healings in the Scripture:

1.     Instantaneous Mt. 3:3: Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

2.     Gradual or Progressive (Jn. 4:52) One reason for this is a deep spiritual work is being done.

3.     Conditional 11 Kg. 5: 1-14: Naaman, Captain of the host of the King of Syria, was a great man and honorable, because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria; he was also a mighty man in valor, but he was a leper...  Elisha told him to go wash in the Jordan seven times and your flesh will come again to you and you shall be clean.

4.     Unconditional Mt. 20:29-34: And behold two blind men sitting by the wayside, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, you Son of David.

When Jesus healed the paralyzed boy: “Jesus saw their faith and he said, Son be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven, Arise, take your mat and go home.   To His disciples he said, It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.  I desire mercy, not sacrifice.  For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.

To the woman with the issue of blood, he said, Your faith has made you whole.

To the blind men, he touched their eyes and said, According to your faith will it be done to you. and their sight was restored.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless.

Acts 3:  When Peter healed the beggar, He said, “by faith in the name of Jesus that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him.”

Acts 14: When Paul healed the cripple, Paul saw that he had the faith to be healed and called out, “Stand up on your Feet!”

The Gifts of Healing are power gifts and like all the other gifts are worthless without love and the fruit of the Spirit.  These gifts are not given for show, but for service.

Psalm 41:1: Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the Lord delivers him in time of trouble.  The Lord will protect him and preserve his life; He will bless him in the land and does not surrender him to the desire of his foes.  The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him on his bed of illness.  I said, “O Lord have Mercy on me; heal me, for I have sinned against you.”
