"THE RED COWS" AND OCTOBER 7.

"THE RED COWS” AND OCTOBER 7, 2023

Sunday. September 29, 2024, the Year of Our Lord

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

In view of the rapid escalation of the war surrounding Israel, I am quoting from Jonathan Cahn’s recent book, The Dragon’s Prophecy.

Cahn: “The return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel is connected to what the Bible calls the “last days.”  In the Book of Hosea, it is prophesied that the children of Israel will be for “many days” without a kingdom or temple, but after that,”

Hos. 3:5:  the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God and David their king.  They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days.

Cahn identifies the “Dragon” as symbolic of Satan.

Jer. 51:34: Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon… He has swallowed me up like a dragon.

Ez. 29:3:  I am against you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his rivers.

Rev. 12:9: The great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan.

The theme of the book is around Revelation 12: 9-17 of The red dragon, the sun-clothed Woman, and the child.  The sun-clothed woman being symbolic of Israel and the child symbolic of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.   He mentions the view that the woman could also symbolize the church.

(You will remember I had a vision of the Sun-Clothed Woman giving birth to a man child in 1989.  So, in addition to Israel, I am persuaded the vision encompasses the birth of the anointing/move of God in all generations. Sissom)

Though the vision begins with the birth of Messiah at the beginning of the age, its focus is, rather, on the end of the age.  So, the first part of the vision’s fulfillment (Rev. 12: 9-17) reveals the Jewish people's return to their ancient homeland, Israel.

One chapter of the book identifies the resurrection of the dry bones prophecy (Ez. 37:4) with the resurrection of the Jewish people to their homeland on May 14, 1948.  The dry bones rose from the valley of death.  The nation of Israel was resurrected from the dead.

Cahn: "In order for these things to come to fulfillment, there had to be a convergence of world events, mass movements, colossal forces, the coalescing of countless lives, two world wars, and the rise and fall of world empires.  It was beyond the control of any one person, any one nation, organization, kingdom or power.  All things had to be set in motion and perfectly in place by the moving of an unseen Hand.

Cahn: “When God brings forth a work in the world, the enemy (dragon) seeks to bring forth an alternate work, a false work, an anti-work, for the purpose of destroying the work of God.   In the Book of Revelation, the Dragon gives authority and power to the one called “the Beast.”

"The dragon's war against the woman would cause the resurrected Israel to become the most warred-against nation on earth."

Cahn:  "The dragon would use a resurrected people to war against a resurrected Israel.  He would time and calibrate the resurrection of the enemy to coincide with the timing of Israel's resurrection.

Cahn: “Of all the enemies faced by Israel in ancient times, the one most deserving of the title archenemy was the people known as the Philistines or the Sea Peoples.”

the aftermath of the Jewish revolt against Rome in AD135, the Roman Empire banned the Jewish people from setting foot in Jerusalem.  The Holy City of Jerusalem would now bear the name of the enemy of Israel – the Philistines.  It would be the Roman version of the name that had once denoted Israel’s southeastern coast, the land of the Philistines. It was an anti-name of what was to be an anti-land, of the anti-god, the Enemy.  For nearly 2000 years the Promised Land would be called the Land of the Philistines, Palestine.”

Cahn: “The Jewish people have always been a mystery to the world.  No people have ever known so much rejection, antipathy, and hatred.  Joined to one land as no other people have ever been joined to a land --- and yet separated from their land and landless as no other people have been so separated from a land or landless… They have been the weakest of nations and yet the strongest ---the most vulnerable of peoples and most often in danger of extermination ---and yet the most enduring of peoples.  No people, while on earth, have ever so known the presence of God and glories of heaven ---and yet no other people have ever so known the depths of hell.”

“What makes Israel unique among the nations, and the Jews, separate among the peoples?  The answer is God.  The Scriptures record that God called them into existence.  They were not chosen for any special attribute they possessed.   The reason was given to them at Mt. Sinai,

Ex. 19b-6a: …You shall be a peculiar treasure and unto me above all people; for all the earth is mine.  You shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation…

Cahn affirms his faith that as Christians, we are in Israel as Spiritual Israel.  We are in Christ.  Chapters 66-69 reveal the church’s end-time mandate.  I haven’t gotten that far yet.

I have given only a brief overview of the background of the revelations in the book through chapter 12.

“The Red Cows.” - Chapter 63, The Dragon's Prophecy (paraphrased)

Most of you have heard me preach about the sacrifice of the red heifer in the rebuilding of the Temple.  I have stated with clarity, the scripture in Hebrews that Jesus Christ the Lamb of God is the only sacrifice and there can never be another. (Heb. 10:12).

Well, Jonathan Cahn reveals the five red heifers which arrived in Israel from America in Autumn 2022, as the catalyst for the October 7th massacre.

Cahn: “How would that cause the satanic rampage of October 7?

The rite of the red heifer is connected to the Temple.  It implies the Temple’s rebuilding.  Those who brought the cows to Israel did so in the hope of being part of the temple’s future restoration on the Mount.  In the eyes of the Dragon, the presence of red heifers in the land of Israel would constitute a threat to his dominion over the Mount.  The presence of Israeli troops on the Mount would constitute another.  In view of the Dragon’s mission to keep the Temple Mount away from the people of Israel and the Temple of God from the Mount, what would we expect to happen?  Exactly what did happen; it would set off a satanic explosion--- October 7.  The mystery had ordained it.

The connection between the Temple Mount and October 7 was so central and so strong that it could even be seen in the name given to the invasion by Hamas.  It was named the Flood.  But its full name was Al-Aqsa Flood.  It was all about the Temple Mount.   It was all about the Dragon’s possession of that Mount and the war waged by the Dragon over the purposes of God.  So, the invasion of October 7 bore the name of a flood and the mosque that sat on the Temple Mount.  On that day a flood of fury poured down from the Mount and onto the people of Israel from the mouth of the Dragon.

Isa. 2:2: Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it.

The mountain of the Lord is, most specifically, the “Temple Mount.”  It is from that Mount that the word of God will go forth to the world, the knowledge of God to the nations, and the kingdom of God to the ends of the earth.  And from there, Messiah will reign.

In view of the importance of the Temple Mount to the promises of God’s Kingdom, we would expect the enemy to prevent a possession or place for any Jewish person within it at all costs.  By doing so, the Dragon would stop the prophecies from being fulfilled, the temple from being built there, the festivals and holy days of Israel from being observed there, and Messiah from reigning there.”

Cahn: “So, the Temple Mount has become the most dangerous plot of land on earth.”

Cahn: “In the spring of 2023, amid reports of Jewish people seeking to observe a Jewish holy day on the temple Mount, a clash broke out on top of the Mount at the Al-Aqsa Mosque between Palestinians and Israeli police. The Palestinians attacked the police with rocks and fireworks.  The police responded with rubber bullets and stun grenades…  The next night, another clash broke out in the same place.

In the wake of the conflict on the Temple Mount, rockets were fired into Israel from Gaza as well as from Lebanon.  Afterward, Hamas issued a warning to Israel that it was ‘playing with fire.” Six months later, on October 7, the fire broke out.

In the immediate wake of the October 7 invasion, Hamas leader, Haniyeh, gave an address in which he told the world the reason for the day of slaughter and atrocities.  It was, he said, the answer to what had happened on the Temple Mount the previous spring.  (Middle East Monitor, October 9, 2023).  (Cahn gives four quotes from other sources to support this pg. 224-225).

October 7, 2023, was the 8th day of the Feast of Tabernacles.  It is appointed on the eighth day of the feast to read aloud and chant the account of the Temple dedication by Solomon.   On the morning of October 7, 2023, across the land of Israel and throughout the world the words declaring the consecration of the Temple on the Temple Mount were proclaimed (1 Ki. 8: 54-55).

There is so much more in the book regarding signs of the last days.  If the Lord allows, I will attempt to cover some of it tonight.  It is important because the fierce war continues to rage around Israel as well as the Ukraine.

We know the Bible and we are able to connect much of Bible prophecy to the signs of the times, but we don’t receive all the news coming from the Middle East or the World.

FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA

God gave a promise to Israel:

Exodus 23:31:  I will set your bonds from the Red Sea to the sea, Philistia, and from the desert to the River.  For I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.

From the desert to the River is the River Euphrates. Deut. 11:24.

Cahn: “The promise appears over and over again throughout the Scriptures, as do the words river and sea.  Also note the appearance in that promise of the word Philistines.  So, the dark resurrection would produce a chant uttered by the Filastin peoples, a chant that multitudes around the world would shout along with them.

The chant “From the river to the sea.  Palestine will be free!” is the promise of God to the Jews inverted.  The fulfillment of that inverted promise requires the elimination or annihilation of every Jew living in the land, from the river to the sea.  It is again, the Dragon’s inversion --- a promise to destroy the promise of God --- an anti-promise.”

Also note:  The Houthis are taking control of the Red Sea without any resistance from our Navy.  So, from the River to the Sea could mean Iran intends dominance over the Red Sea.  Iran borders the Euphrates River.

The term, “Dark Resurrection” is Part 3 of the book.  It describes the resurrection of the Philistines in 1948.  They parallel Israel’s existence in world history.
