THE WEIGHT OF THE GLORY

THE WEIGHT OF THE GLORY

Sunday, March 2, 2025. The Year of Our Lord

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

There is so much spiritual activity in the realm of the Spirit, it is a challenge to know the direction of the flow.  Certainly, prayers for President Trump and the entire administration going forward with the current crisis over Ukraine, not to mention the war in Gaza--- (Philistines).

We can certainly identify the battle going on in the Spirit with Gog/Magog (inclusive of Russia and Turkey); and the Prince of Persia over Iran which is behind the war in Gaza.  Turkey is willing to take control of Gaza and develop it into a resort paradise.  Could Trump have purposely dangled that carrot out there, just to watch the greed in the nations manifest?  Jus’ askin’.

Now enters the Prince of Grecia which I can identify with the European Union to whom Zelensky has gone to for help.

President Trump exposed Zelensky as not seeking peace, but wanting more aid (money, troops, and war machinery)---  mainly money.  The corruption of keeping the war going to keep the billions flowing into Ukraine by the U.S.A. is obvious to all.  Thus enters the worship of the god of forces (god of war) (Dan. 11:38) with silver, gold, precious stones, and pleasant things.  The value of the rare-earth in Ukraine is now up for bid with the European nations as well as China.  That makes Ukraine for sale to the highest bidder.  I never took Zelensky for a fool.  He managed to control the Biden administration for 3-1/2 years which is a prophetic number.  Is this another dangling carrot to expose the spirit of greed?

But this is not my message today, I have a personal message about

                                              “The Weight of the Glory.”

A couple of weeks ago, I received an urgent telephone call from Andrea (Andy) McDougal.  She had a dream and visitation of the Revival Angel the night before.  This was her third visitation of the Revival Angel.  First at the age of five, then in the mid-90’s and again in February 2025.  The Revival Angel hovered over her and showed her a map of the United States places marked with a “X” chosen for revival.  Eastgate Church was one of those places.  She also said there was a message for me that I would be lifted into another realm of glory that I have not yet experienced.

Over the years, I have shared with this church and posted in sermons the different visitations I have had where the weight of the glory would leave me weeping and put me to bed at times for days.

I have continually challenged the church, “are we able to carry the weight of the glory for revival?”  Now I find myself questioning my own strength to be able to carry this new weight of glory.  “When the heavenly meets human, we become weak and powerless.”

On February 10, 2025, Sara Ballenger with Capitol Hill Prayer invited me to preach a message to her group.  I preached on the Kingly Anointing. The preaching took me high in the Spirit.  At the end of the message, she redirected and asked me to take communion.  I was speechless.  I literally could not speak words nor did I have the thoughts to form the words.

Last Saturday, February 23, 2025, I preached two messages one at NASA Aglow on the Kingly anointing and then that night on the Overcomer (Third Day Glory).  I was literally in a daze until Thursday.  I was functioning and present in the earth, but spiritually disconnected from my body.

After coming to myself, “somewhat,” I began to question myself and submit to the LORD if I had the strength to carry a greater weight of His glory.  The Holy Spirit spoke, “read Daniel 10.”

Daniel was 86 years old when he received what is now known as the “Great Vision” (Daniel 10:8).  This is the prophecies concerning Persia and Greece.  This has historically been fulfilled, yet the vision given by the Angel of the LORD (glorious man) is what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come (Dan. 10:14).

At the appearance of the Angel of the LORD, Daniel had no physical strength:

Daniel 10:7: I was left alone when I saw this great vision, and no strength remained in me, for my vigor was turned to frailty in me, and I retained no strength…(vs. 10) Suddenly a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands… (10: 11b)While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling… (10:15: I became speechless.

Daniel 10: 17-19: “How can this servant of my LORD talk with you, my LORD?  As for me, no strength remains in me now, nor is any breath left in me.  Then again, the one having the likeness of a man touched me and strengthened me.  He said, “O man greatly beloved, fear not!  Peace be to you, be strong, yes, be strong!”  So, when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, “Let my LORD speak, for you have strengthened me.”

If others are like me, the past few weeks I have been through another testing of overcoming.  I was surprised by unexpected “seething anger.”  I didn’t know I still had that capability within me because I was delivered from repressed anger years ago.  I caught it, realizing if I had given place to the anger, it would have been a deterrent to being used by the LORD in the anointing.   Once it was revealed, I submitted it to the LORD.  He took it all away.

When the glory comes, it actually disables us. It is a paradox.   The anointing enables us, but the glory disables us, because when it comes, we surf on the waves of the Spirit’s flow.

When we submit ourselves completely to the work of God’s Spirit, we must become marinated by the anointing.  Many are anointed by God but cannot support the weight of the anointing.

Some people want to skip this process.  We must let the anointing work within us.  The anointing comes to do a job, and one of its assignments is marinating us in God’s process of preparation.

Every heavenly assignment I have received from the LORD has required another level of breaking or sanctification for the next level.

When we are being tested, flesh defends itself to the Lord, “somebody made me do it;” self-pity; selfishness; self-defense; self-justification; on and on.  We overcome when we submit and give it all over to the LORD and ask Him to deliver us.

In the anointing, we learn how to grow in grace.  John the Baptist grew in grace (Lk. 1:80) and Jesus did too (Lk. 2:40).  I continue to grow in grace to serve the LORD as a Pastor.  Whatever your season of ministry or life, it will take growing in grace to be able to fulfill your ministry assignment and your kingdom destiny.  I count it all joy!  I don’t want to miss what I am on earth to accomplish because of my failures to submit and obey.

The anointing carries us into the Glory of God.

We will not get to the place in the glory of God unless we push through in the anointing.

1.     Poured Out.

2.     Smeared over.

3.     Rubbed In.

Joel 2:28:  I will pour out my Spirit on all people…Even on my servants, both men and women.  I will pour out my Spirit in those days.

The second expression of the anointing, mentioned in Scripture means “to smear over.”  This is the Holy Spirit covering us with His anointing.  For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. (2 Cor. 2: 14-15).

The first two dimensions deal with the anointing upon us.  The third dimension deals with the anointing within us.  Ministries can operate in the giftings with great supernatural power and still fall into morale sin because they have not submitted themselves to the third dimension of the anointing

What God does for us, He does in levels---measures, degrees---always moving us step by step.  There is a process in the things of the Spirit, but God can accelerate the process according to our submission.  However, we need both the anointing upon and the anointing within.

It is now over 35 years since the LORD visited me and set me into full time public ministry.  I am not the same person I was 35 years ago.  The daily breaking and sacrifice of serving the LORD in the Office of Pastor has made me better.  All of my “issues” have fallen with the burnt offering of my fleshly pride.  The sacrifice and paying the cost of obedience, faithfulness, perseverance, forgiveness, refusing offense, forgetting rejection, long-suffering, have all had to be burned on the sacrifice of fire.

I count it all joy!  My heart is filled with love, gratefulness, peace, no regrets, and no offense toward any.

This is the cost of allowing the anointing to be rubbed in.  Have I failed?  Yes, often!  Have I had to cry out for grace and mercy? Yes often!  But in my own lack, I can also cry out for each one of you as I watch you process the sacrifice and cost of carrying the fragrance of Christ.

If we keep the things of God to ourselves, they diminish and dissipate.  Give away what God has blessed you with so it can be a blessing to others.  In this is the continual flow of God’s blessing and anointing.  How can I charge for what God has given me?  Some say if you don’t charge people, they will not respect you or value your worth.  Smile, Jesus didn’t charge me, and I sure do value His worth.

We live in the realms of faith and the realms of the anointing to bring us into the realms of glory.  The anointing enables us to swim in the river of God.  Prophetically speaking, when that river flows, we are enabled to do supernatural works.

We swim in that river, doing the best we can, empowered by the Holy Spirit’s anointing.  It seems to me, many times, I am just doing the best I can in what the LORD has given me to do.

Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest (Heb. 4:11).  There is a laboring to get into the rest, but when we are in the rest, everything comes with great ease.  The Holy Spirit is now carrying us along, and there is an ease.  We flow in the glory, whereas we had to press into the anointing or perhaps better said, we were pressed by the anointing.

Ahh – but we go from glory to glory and from faith to faith.

2 Cor. 3:18: But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

“Faith says God is present.  The anointing says God rewards.  The glory says, I AM.” (Joshua Mills)

What is the glory?  God is the glory.  The glory is God.  The Glory is God’s manifest presence, His character, His nature, His ability, His provision, and the weight and splendor of His majesty.  It is the essence of His beauty.  The glory is all that He is and all that He has.  Everything about God is glorious, and He wants us to know Him in the fullness of His Glory because He is the God of Glory.

In the glory, there is increase, abundance, healing, life, wholeness, provision, prosperity, and deliverance.  When the glory cloud appears, discord, disunity, problems, and difficulties have to go.

This past week, Sandy Pool had a visitation whereby she was taken into the “Secret Place.”  I did not ask her permission to tell her story, but I look forward to her sharing her vision and the Presence which continues to cover her with His Glory.

As our spirit rises, allow the constraints of the flesh and all we are holding onto to fall away.  Be set free from the remaining shackles.  In the glory realm there are no impossibilities.  In this realm, nothing is too difficult for God.

There is one other thought which I have been considering before the LORD:  Numbers 27:17-23 is the story of God choosing Joshua to oversee the congregation of the LORD.  Moses was instructed to lay hands on him, set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.  You shall put some of your honor upon him.  The word used for “honor” is “hod.”  It means splendor, majesty, vigor, glory, goodly, honorable, excellent, etc.  It is translated in N.K.J.V. as “you shall give some of your authority to him.”  This tells me there are different levels of Glory for our earthly assignments.  Num. 27:23: Moses laid hands on him and inaugurated him, just as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.  K.J.V. reads “and gave him a charge.”

Joshua’s Kingdom assignment was “Conquest.” Moses’ Kingdom assignment was “Deliverer, and Law Giver.” I conclude Joshua would still have to go through the process step by step to walk in the Glory of God to fulfill his Kingdom assignment.

Lord Jesus please strengthen me to have the grace to carry the weight of glory being released to the Body of Christ for your Kingdom assignment. I don’t want to miss you.  Whatever assignment I have in your kingdom purpose, please give me the grace to minister to your chosen at Eastgate and those to whom we are sent that we may corporately carry the weight of the Glory together. Give me the grace to speak the next step into those to whom I am sent.  Lord I am totally aware, that like Daniel,  after these past two weeks, that in my present physical strength I can’t carry the next level without you strengthening me.

“And step by step you’ll lead me,

And I will follow You all of my days.” (Rich Mullins).
