THE LORD HAS DONE MARVELOUS THINGS

THE LORD HAS DONE MARVELOUS THINGS

Sunday, June 29, 2025, The Acceptable Year of Our Lord

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

This is the week of July 4, 2025, the day we celebrate the LORD for the formation of the nation of the United States of America and for His keeping power which has kept us strong by His watchful eye, right hand, and holy arm.  It is good this year we have an entire week to celebrate.

Psa. 98:1-3: Oh, sing to the LORD a new song!

For He has done marvelous things.

His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.

The LORD has made known his salvation.

His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.

The past two weeks has been a time of the LORD GOD moving mightily for President Donald J. Trump and His administration; but the platform of that administration is the will, purpose and way of God.  The intent is peace, security, freedom, liberty, reformation, restoration, righteousness, protection of children, protection of marriage between and man and a woman in a prosperous nation.

Psa. 33:18:  Behold the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy.

I will attempt to list some of the mighty victories for the Kingdom of God.  If I leave something out, please feel free to remind me.

1.      Iran’s threat of terrorism as the world’s primary sponsor of terrorism has ended with the bombing of their nuclear plants.

2.     The war between Iran and Israel has ended with a cease fire.

3.     The war between Gaza and Israel is soon to end.

4.     Rwanda and Congo sign peace deal in US to end fighting after 30 years of conflict.

5.      U. S. Supreme court limits federal courts nationwide injunctions usurping authority from the Executive Branch.  This could have been a constitutional crisis, but it is a victory for the constitution.

6.     A win for parents and a win for children will not now be required to use LGBTQ books in public school lessons.  A win for Maryland parents, but a win for all parents.

7.     Texas law was upheld blocking kids from seeing pornography online.

8.     Injunctions were limited on birthright citizenship.

9.     South Carolina allowed to cut off Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood.

10.  Our borders are closed and secure against illegal immigration.

11.  Hundreds of trafficked children have been found and delivered from their captors.

12.  Our economy is strong.  Gas prices are down.  Businesses with jobs are returning to the United States.  The Oil and Gas industry is again drilling for oil.

Not sure I covered everything, but we as a nation should turn with our whole heart with praise and thanksgiving that our God has done marvelous things and delivered us from our enemies.   We must give him the glory.  We the church must stay in prayer before Him making decrees of His righteous acts and the glory of Christ’s Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven.

Yes, the remnant church arose and took our place among the nations as the LORD GOD intended.  It is heresy that Christians are not to be involved in civil government.

I am concerned going forward there will be antisemitic divisions in the Christian churches both in the U.S. and Europe.  Ambassador Mike Huckabee said it best this past week:

A Jewish friend asked him, “Why are Evangelical Christians so supportive of Israel and the Jewish people?”  Mike replied, “You can be Jewish and have nothing whatsoever to do with Christians.  You don’t need me for your faith.  I can’t be a Christian and not be connected 100% to everything in your faith.  Everything I believe.  Everything that I embrace, the Messiah himself is all on the Jewish foundation.”

I will add to that, “Jesus Christ was a Jew.  The Holy Bible except for the Gospel of Luke was written by Jews.  The Lord God is in covenant not only with the nation of Israel, but with the Land.

As I scrolled through the many sermons (35 years) around Independence Day, they are all filled with exhortations to fight the good fight, stand strong in the face of the evil spirits of antichrist attempting to take over our nation.  I have their names chronicled in my notes with the Word of God and His righteousness in their face as the only standard.

We are in a new day, those many years of warfare have reaped a harvest of Victory.

John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail: “The second day of July 1776 will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America.  I am apt to believe it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival.  It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.  It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”

His prophetic declaration only missed by two days.  July 2, 1776 was the date the resolution of Independence was approved in a closed session of congress.  It is still debated that it was actually signed on July 4, 1776.  However, it was signed!!!

This nation was birthed by the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.  John 1:17: For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ and great grace was upon them all.

The same God-given authority given to the Founding Fathers over this nation continues to be God’s covenant with this nation.  God’s authority for the destiny of nations has not been rescinded.  It is my persuasion the Hosts of Angel Armies sent to establish this nation are still equipped with the same God-given authority for which they were deployed.  Just as God’s covenant with Israel has not been rescinded, or His written covenant with the appointed destiny of nations, so our nation is set in God’s destiny of nations.

It is the Kingdom assignment of the “Church” in every generation to declare what God has decreed over this nation.  We are in a Kingdom that the world system cannot see.  It is a spiritual Kingdom.  It is not of this world.   We are to follow Christ behind the veil and declare the power of His Kingdom into the nations.

Patrick Henry was a Founding Father, but not one of the signers of The Declaration of Independence.  This is a quote from his address to the Virginia Convention:

“There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us.  The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave.”

“It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians, not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ.” (Patrick Henry, Governor of Virginia)

John Adams became the 2nd President of the United States and Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd President of the United States were two of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Not only did both men sign the declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.  Both men passed to Heaven on July 4, 1826.  It was not until 1870, that July 4th was declared a national holiday (almost 100 years after it was signed).

John Adams was president (1797-1801) and the first Vice President under George Washington.  This is an excerpt from a letter to Thomas Jefferson on June 28, 1813 (posted on both of their presidencies):

“The general principles, on which the Fathers achieved independence, were the only principles in which that beautiful assembly of young gentlemen could unite…. and what were these general principles?  I answer, ‘the general principles of Christianity, in which all these sects were united:  And the general principles of English and American liberty, in which all those young men united, and which had united all parties in America, sufficient to assert and maintain her independence. Now I will avow that I then believe, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity, are as eternal and immutable, as the existence and attributes of God; and that those principles of liberty are as unalterable as human nature and our terrestrial, mundane (earthly)system.’”

Thomas Jefferson was the primary draftsman of the Declaration of Independence of the United States and the nation’s first secretary of state (1789–94), its second vice president (1797–1801), and, as the third president (1801–09), the statesman responsible for the Louisiana Purchase:

“On the south banks of Washington’s Tidal Basin, Thomas Jefferson still speaks: ‘God who gave us life gave us liberty.  Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God?  Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep forever.’”

Jefferson’s words are a forceful and explicit warning that to remove God from this country will destroy it.” (Robert Byrd in a message to the United States Senate on June 27, 1962, just two days after the Supreme Court declared prayer in schools unconstitutional warning Congress about disastrous decisions such as this one.)

Gal. 5:1:  Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

It may now be time to restore corporate prayer to public schools.  We now have prayer at all Federal corporate gatherings.  Since 1789, the House of Representatives opens each day it is in session with a prayer.  The office of Faith in the White House was established by President Trump on February 7, 2025, which was two weeks after his inauguration.  Many faith leaders gather regularly at the White House to pray for President Trump.

The greatest gift of liberty was sealed for us at the Cross of Jesus Christ through His death and resurrection.  He set us free from the accuser of the brethren, from the guilt and shame of our sins.  He delivered us from death, Hell, and the grave.   Jesus Christ delivered us into the Kingdom of God out of the realm of the bondage of the world system ruled by flesh and Satan.  When we were born again, we were actually translated from the power of darkness into the kingdom of Christ Jesus. (Col. 1:13).

Jesus Christ fulfilled God’s perfect Law of Liberty.

Luke 4:18: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

We, the Church, have been given this same authority:

John 20:21: So, Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

We are to enter into the Presence (His Glory) behind the veil and go forth to deliver creation.

Rom. 8:21: Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

The word for creature here means the sum of all that has been created.

King David touched and experienced this realm of the Law of Liberty:

Psa. 119:45:

And I will walk at liberty, for I seek Your precepts.

I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings and will not be ashamed.  I will delight myself in Your commandments,
Which I love
.

The Law of Liberty is a realm of the Holy Spirit.  It is the realm of perpetual Jubilee.

The Jubilee is prophetic of the Lord Jesus, who came to deliver the beggar, brokenhearted, bound, blind, and bruised (Isa. 61:1-3 and Lk. 4: 17-19) and to proclaim the acceptable year (Jubilee) of the Lord, which he proclaimed to be fulfilled at the beginning of His earthly ministry.

Luke 4:19-21: To preach the Acceptable year of the Lord…This day is this scripture is fulfilled in your ears.

James 1:25: - But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he is being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

We are a blessed people that 57 men joined together in unity before God and came into unity to approve the Declaration of Independence on July 2, 1776,  signed and finally approved on July 4th.    Surely that year was the Acceptable Year of the Lord as is every year since Christ's resurrection.  Surely 2025, ½ of 50 is the Acceptable Year of the Lord, for the LORD has done marvelous things.

John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail not only of the victory of the great day of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, but he wrote prophetically of our day and every day of victory the LORD has given the United States through at least thirty wars fought here and on foreign soil.  Our battle today is the same that has always been fought.  It is the epic battle of evil vs good, the Kingdom of God vs the spirit of antichrist.

On July 4, 1776, there was a great battle yet to be fought with Great Britain.  The American Revolution did not end until 1783.  Many who signed the declaration lost their lives and some their fortunes.  Yet a free nation was born, a nation which has continually fought for the Law of Liberty for all people regardless of race, creed, or gender.

Almost, it appeared the spirit of antichrist and his demonic powers were at last destroying this great nation through a “woke” ideology which left God our of its reckoning, BUT GOD arose and brought forth a leader who is “dead” to money, world powers, ego, vain glory, and his reputation; for they tried to destroy his name, wealth, and power.  BUT GOD called His church/Remnant-Ecclesial to prayer and to decree “Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”  Nae, we the church will not give this nation over to Satan.  We will not come into agreement with a doctrine of devils which says the Church has no authority over the government.  The government is the Kingdom of God and there is no other.  Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  All kings, prime ministers and presidents are servants and stewards of Christ’s kingdoms on earth.   Our highest calling is to be servants of the LORD JESUS CHRIST and Him only will we serve and call LORD.
